    WHERE REGISTRATION_DATE = @REGISTRATION_DATE

    My problem has to do with date formats and specifically with localizations (sometimes it is saved as MM-DD-YY, others DD-MM-YY, and it does not correspond with the parameter. How can I solve this problem WITHOUT having to apply a format conversion inside
    the WHERE clause? (because when I use a function inside the WHERE, the index created for this column is invalidated and the query takes longer and longer when the DB gets bigger and bigger)

    Hello Marco,
    What is important here is the source of your table's data.  When loading the table with data, your source date values must have a clean, consistent format.  
    For example, if the following two rows represent December 7th, depending on your SQL Server installation / localization, only ONE row will be correct.  The other will be inserted as July 12th.  
    INSERT INTO student (ID, NAME, REGISTRATION_DATE)
    VALUES
    (1, 'Name1', '12/7/2014'),
    (2, 'Name2', '7/12/2014')
    In other cases, the INSERT statement may fail altogether because the date string won't "fit" the localization settings.  For example "25/12/2014" won't fit into a USA-localized SQL Server (there is no such thing as month 25).  "US
    English" is SQL Server's default localization, by the way, and requires dates to be entered with any variation of "month/day/year," or better, in the international format "year/month/day."
    Once your data is cleanly loaded into the table, you can use various string formats in your stored procedure's input parameter, but keep in mind your SQL Server's localization.  All of the following execution statements will work for a query of December
    7th on a US SQL Server installation:
    exec TRGetMsgTksByBIdDIdPIdAMsreDte '12/7/2014'
    exec TRGetMsgTksByBIdDIdPIdAMsreDte '2014-12-7'
    exec TRGetMsgTksByBIdDIdPIdAMsreDte 'December 7, 2014'
    TIP:
    Be careful when querying fields with the "datetime" format.  In your stored procedure, records in the table might be filtered out if they include time information, and if your input parameter fails to specify the exact time.
    A better way might be to change your input parameter datatype to "date" instead of "datetime," then inside the stored procedure, transfer the original input parameter value to start and end datetimes to match the table's datatype.
    Example:
    CREATE PROCEDURE TRGetMsgTksByBIdDIdPIdAMsreDte
    @REGISTRATION_DATE DATE
    AS
    SET NOCOUNT ON
    DECLARE @DATETIME_START DateTime,
    @DATETIME_CUTOFF DateTime
    SELECT @DATETIME_START = @REGISTRATION_DATE -- SQL Server will implicitly expand the input's "date" format into "datetime" type representing midnight of the given date.
    SELECT @DATETIME_CUTOFF = DATEADD(day, 1, @REGISTRATION_DATE) -- the cutoff for the next day
    SELECT *
    FROM STUDENT
    WHERE REGISTRATION_DATE >= @DATETIME_START
    AND REGISTRATION_DATE < @DATETIME_CUTOFF
    RETURN 0
    GO
    The above code will ensure that any index on "REGISTRATION_DATE" is being used (field REGISTRATION_DATE and @DATETIME_START, @DATETIME_CUTOFF are of the same datatype).  The above code will also ensure that if records are stored with time
    information (eg. '12/7/2014 10:30:00'), that they don't get filtered out when the input parameter @REGISTRATION_DATE = '12/7/2014' (implicitly midnight).

    end;i have 3 items in page..
    1. Hidden -> P1_ID
    2. Text field - > P1_NAME
    3. File Browse - P1_AVATAR
    but when invoking the procedure in Processes like

    end;i get an error
    1 error has occurred

    end;should be something like:
    create table members ( id number, name varchar2(30), avatar blob );
    create or replace add_ member ( id number, name varchar2, avatar blob )
    is
    begin
    insert into members (id, name, avatar) values ( id, name, avatar);
    commit;
    end;You need to specify the columns of the table that you will be inserting values into.
    Also, you should probably rename the parameters of your procedure so you can differentiate between the parameters, and the database columns.
    i.e.:
    create or replace add_ member ( p_id number, p_name varchar2, p_avatar blob )

    I have a Stored Procedure say CustOrdersDetail. I have created a MBO for it in the workspace and deployed it on SAP Mobile Server. I am unable to read data from the stored procedure in code of the Android Application. If I pass a default load argument, then I am able to read data using findAll method. How to get the data from the stored procedure by passing it an argument in the Android Code ?

    Wow, that was indeed a quick reply i have ever got on SDN. Thanks for the excellent link jitesh. However, where will i get the deployable files that it selects in the Import GP/CAF contents step of the demo? those are the webdynpro components files. One is SCA and other is SDA. Where will i get them?

    By using below query, it is inserted into database.

    But using stored procedure, the same query is not running.
    It shows error like
    ORA-01843: not a valid month ORA-06512: at line 1
    Procedure:
    create or replace procedure Date_Test(datejoin in DATE) is

    insert into datetest values(to_date(datejoin,'MM/DD/YYYY'));
    end Date_Test;
    I had used 'nls_date_language = american' also.
    Prcodeure is created but not worked in jsp. The same error is thrown.

    Only i shaw those parameters which i used in my stored procedure, the parameter which i create dynamic using stored procedure
    is not shown to me when i referesh the report for viewing the results.
    I have used the same procedure which i mention below but can not seen the last screen which is shown in this .

    My question is that whether dynamic parameter is working with storedprocedure or not.
    When i added one table and try to fetch records using dyanmic prameters. after that i am not be able to find the dynamic parameter option when i referesh my report.
    One more thing when i try the static parameter for my report, the option i see when i referesh the screen.

    I have tested the issue step by step by following you description, while the first issue works well in my local environment. Based on my research, this can be caused by the lookup expression or it indeed return Male value based on the logic. If you use the
    expression below, it will indeed only return the Male record. So please try to double-check the record in the two datasets and the expression in your environment:
    =lookup(first(Fields!ProgramID.Value,"DataSet1"),Fields!ProgramID.Value,Fields!Gender.Value,"DataSet2")
    As to the second issue, please try to use the following expression:
    =Count(Lookup(fields!ProgramID.value,fields!ProgramID.value,fields!Gender.value,"DataSet2"))
    Besides, if this issue still exist, in order to trouble shoot this issue more efficiently, could you please post both the .rdl  file with all the size properties to us by the following E-mail address?  It is benefit for us to do further analysis.

    I created ref cursor in the stored procedure to return data. The stored procedure works fine, just want to view the result in TOAD. The BEGIN... EXEC... END can execute the stored procedure, but how to make the result display?

    "Prompt For Substitution Variables".
    Run for example the following code:

    END;
    The result will display in Toad's Data Grid!

  • How to use Stored Procedures in form 6i Blocks

    Dear Friends,
    I would like to know how to use Stored Procedures while creating blocks in Data Block Wizard in forms 6i application.
    Please send me sample code of stored procedure.

    The Data Block Wizard is not for creating stored procedures. It will allow you to use a stored procedure in your form. See the help documentation for how to use the wizard.
    Here's an example of a simple procedure. If you search the database forum or the web, you will find many examples.
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE procedure_name (value OUT NUMBER ) AS
    BEGIN
    SELECT COUNT(*) INTO value
    FROM your_table;
    END;

  • How to run ssis 2012 package deployed on SSISDB using stored procedures from [SSISDB].[catalog] by regular AD accounts ?

    Hello, I need to run ssis package by stored proc(pass parameters inside and get result using stored procedures [SSISDB].[catalog].[create_execution]) etc. Do not suggest me to use SQL Agent here as this is not the case. or by pass this using configuration
    for SSIS, I need to know what permission I'm missing if those stored proc run by AD account, with rights described from BOL and I'm having "The current security
    context cannot be reverted. Please switch to the original database where 'Execute As' was called and try it again." If I schedule stored proc to run by Agent and specify parameters - will work, from remote PC - does not.  I have sysdamin
    rights on the server where SSIS and stored proc which is call it exists.   I was digging around and have ugly solution to make it working, I want to use elegant solution using those stored proc from [SSISDB].[catalog] ...
    Any help especially from Microsoft guys here...?

    If you schedule the job it will be running under SQL Server Agent account security....  What error
    do you get when you run the SP from remote PC?

  • How to use dynamic parameter when a report is created using Stored Procedures

    Hi all,
    any one have the idea of how to use dynamic parameter in crystal report XI R2
    when report is created using Stored Procedure.

    Hi
    You can create an SQL command in Database Expert > Expand your datasource > Add command
    Then enter the SQL query that will create the list of values to supply to the user
    eg select field1,field2 from table
    Then edit the parameter of the report.  These will be the SP parameters adn can be seen in field explorer.
    Change the parameter type to Dynamic
    Under the word Value click on Click here to add item
    Scroll down to your Command and select one of the values that you want to appear in the list
    e.g field1
    Then click on the Parameters field - this is essential to create the param
    You can edit other options as required
    That should do it for you.
    I must say that i use CR 2008 connected to Oracle 10g SP, but i reckon this will work for SQL DB and CR XI as well

  • Sub report using Stored Procedure returns incorrect data

    Guys,
    I am using CR 9 in ASP.net application.
    One simple report and one Sub report, sub report is basically linked with Stored procedure accepting one parameter and returns a select query.
    Main report is linked with that sub report using that parameter field.
    Sub report is on demand sub report.
    Now when I execute that main report and click on on demand sub report I am getting Wrong order information.
    Here is out put on main report
    Order 1                                          on demandDetail
    Order 2                                          on demandDetail
    Order 3                                          on demandDetail  
         NOW If I click on Order 3 (On demanddetail link, it displays rondom order details, some time correct on too), I am really stuck and don't know where I am going wrong.
    Please help me to solve this issues.

    Thank you so much for your reply.
    On DEMAND Sub report is located in main report, IN DETAIL SECTION
    I am passing Order ID from main report linked to  {?morderid} in subreport under command object, and if I run it in design mode, it works perfectly alright, so problem is isolated to ASP.NET and Crystal report post back method on Crystal report.
    The example I give to you this is a simple example to identify issues in my real application and report.
    My main report contains summary of data base on unique identifier. that summary have 4 differant types of details which has to be on the same report (as Crystal report doesn't provide Nested subreport), so I decided to use 4 subreports on main report and all subreport using Stored procedure command object.(Sub report has it own complex processing requirement to fulfill).
    Please help me with any further ideas? for the sample which I presented to you this is only using one SP on main report with a simple processing.
