To insert the record programmatically i will provide you some sample below

Retrive last inserted record from database table

Hi,
some body inserting a record into table 'A' through some procedure/java program.i want to retrive the last inserted record from database table.records are not stored in order.Can any body help me.

In general, unless you are storing a timestamp as part of the row or you have some sort of auditing in place, Oracle has no idea what the "first" or "last" record in a table is. Nor does it track when a row was inserted.
- If you have the archived logs from the point in time when the row was inserted, you could use LogMiner to find the timestamp
- If the insert happened recently (i.e. within hours), you may be able to use flashback query to get the value
- If you're on 10g or later and the table was built with ROWDEPENDENCIES and the insert happened in the last few days and you can deal with a granularity of a few seconds and you don't need 100% accuracy, you could get the ORA_ROWSCN of the row and convert that to a timestamp.
If this is something you contemplate needing, you need to store the data in the row or set up some sort of auditing.

How to write a 2D array to a database using database connetivity toolkit?

Hey Gang.
I am having trouble writing records efficiently to my database. I have a 2D array of elements that I am writing to my database. Currently, I am writting one row at a time using a FOR loop and "DB Tools Insert Data.vi". Unfortunately, this process is very time consuming. When I try writing in the entire 2D array (as opposed to 1 row at a time) I get the error:
"Number of query values and destination fields are not the same..."
Is there any way to write a 2D array to a database in one shot?? (and take up the same number of records as if I wrote each row individually)
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Maybe Ive explained the issue incorrectly. Please see the attached snapshot. The top portion of the code is what I currently have. It works, but it writes one database record at a time and the loop runs ~1000 times. (How I am generating the data to write is not particularly important but how I am writing to the database is currently my issue)
The second loop is what I would like to get working as the database write function will only run 4 times (as determined by the number of elements in the variable "Multiple Tables".

HOW TO: Create a JSP Insert Record Form Using BC4J Data Tags

This is a JDeveloper Tech Note found on the OTN Documentation page. This note describes the use of the BC4J data tags to create insert/submit JSP pages. Here is a link:

You can loop throgh query records whit an implicit cursor (which automatically manages the open cursor, fetch and next record):

         PUT YOUR CODE HERE ... (if ..then... elsif... logic)
         you can avoid setting variables 'cause you can directly use the implicit cursor variables: rec.intime etc.

END;Anyway, I suggest you to check the where condition of your block ... because if not all data are retrieved there should be a problem in your query ... so even the cursor (if based on very same query) will return less data than expected.

First its a wrong data, because you cannot have the same data for any condition. Probably its a data problem. Please check with the datbase team and ask them why is it so? They should handle on their end.
Anyways if the above dont work and if you ahve duplicate records then probably you need to come up with a query using select distinct. If this doesnot work then if the duplicates comes into mapping, you might selecting some fields which are common. So you can use a splitbyvalue(on value change) for those records, so even if there are three records it takes only one record. If you have 4 or 5 common values then you can concat them and then use the splitbyvalue change.
Else an adapter module should help you out in sender comm. channel after picking the records.

i. MOVE: BSEG-BKURS TO work area field WA_ZFIBUE-BUKRS,
BSEG-MATNR TO work area field WA_ZFIBUE-MATNR,
GV_PRDHA TO work area field WA_ZFIBUE-PRDHA,
BSEG-HKONT TO work area field WA_ZFIBUE-HKONT,
BSEG-GSBER TO work area field WA_ZFIBUE-GSBER,
BSEG-PSWBT TO work area field WA_ZFIBUE-PSWBT,
BKPF-BUDAT TO work area field WA_ZFIBUE-BUDAT,
SY-DATUM TO work area field WA_ZFIBUE-CREDATE,
SY-UZEIT TO work area field WA_ZFIBUE-CRETIME,
Fetch running serial number (WA_ZFIBUE-SERIALNO) from ZFICO. This number will be stored in ZFICO with PARAMTYPE = "BPM030307", SUBTYPE = "ZFIBUE" and KEY1 = "SERIALNO". The actual serial number will be stored in the field VALUE1.
i. Insert WA_ZFIBUE INTO ZFIBUE.
ii. Send email notification to the user (if it is not already sent to user on the same posting date).
Use function module SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to send mail.
Fetch email address and date of last email from ZFICO. These values will be stored in ZFICO with PARAMTYPE = "BPM030307", SUBTYPE = "EMAIL" and KEY1 = "<USERNAME>". The email address will be stored in the field VALUE1 and posting date in VALUE2. Once mail is sent, VALUE2 is updated with latest posting date (BKPF-BUDAT).
iii. Increment the running serial number and update ZFICO with new serial number.
a. GV_ SERIALNO = WA_ZFIBUE-SERIALNO + 1
b. Update ZFICO Set value1 = GV_SERIALNO
Where PARAMTYPE = "BPM030307" AND
SUBTYPE = "ZFIBUE" AND
KEY1 = "SERIALNO".
iv Move VDFT to BSEG-GSBER.
v. Exit routine.
4.6 Fetch MTART into GV_MTART from MARA where MATNR = BSEG-MATNR.
4.7 If SY-BATCH = INITIAL AND GV_MTART <> ROH, issue the error message - Maintain the mapping of product hierarchy <PRDHA> from article <MATNR> for <BUKRS>. Else, go to step 3.8.
4.8 If SY-BATCH <> INITIAL AND GV_MTART <> ROH, issue the error message - Maintain product hierarchy on article master. Go to step 3.10.
4.9 Move GV_GSBER TO BSEG-GSBER.
4.10 Exit Routine

I'm not sure about 8i features.
I assume here that you don't have 'Date-Time' stamp columns on the table which is the easiest way to determine the last inserted row in the table.
If not try the following :-
select address, piece, SQL_TEXT
from V$SQLTEXT
where upper(sql_text) like '%INSERT INTO TABLE_NAME%'
Substiute the TABLE_NAME with the name of the actual table.

How to insert records in database from a dataset with multiple tables

Hi,
I'm struggling with the following problem:
I have saved a dataset to an XML file by executing the following statement:
ds.WriteXml( "Export\\ModuleChain_Mdata.xml" );The dataset, ds, includes records from several tables.
Is there an easy way to retrieve those records to the database, I.E inserting them again?

you need to convert yore DataTables to array first and than pass them in to the associative array procedure.
