i have two applets, and I would like that a button of one of them open or run another applet..

The short answer is NO!
Another user of my laptop (honest) downloaded some software that changed our default search engines to searchmoose.
I deleted the app, the accompanying "Install Mac" folder in the applications and reset all the search engines.
Everything now seems fine, except for when I download a Rar file, I get a popup window asking "Do you want to use RarGenie to open this file type??"
I've ran a CalmXav scan which came back with nothing. I've followed the instructions for others who have had similar issues, but still have the issue. I've even allowed RarGenie to try and expand a folder, then used AppCleaner to remove all accompanying files, but I still have the issue.
Is there anything else I can try?

That seems to have sorted it.
I'd tried all the stuff on that page and run AdwareMedic before, but it didn't pick up anything.
I ran it again this morning and it found 3 files which, once removed, stopped the annoying prompt.
Your advice is much appreciated.

PS CS5.1 suddenly stops working correctly when opening another file

Hi, I have the Creative Suite cs5.1 student version (had it for about a year now), and now recently I have started to encounter a strange bug with Photoshop.

Actualyl they still might be. Having the latest and newest is not always the most reliable. According to Noel Carboni, the best driver for ATI cards and any version of PS at this point is Catalyst 12.8, not the latest 12.10. So in fact you may simply need to downgrade to fix these problems.

Numbers is a spreadsheet program and FileMaker is a database program, so you probably can't use Numbers to open them unless you had first exported them from FileMaker in a spreadsheet-compatible format.
If you upgraded from 10.6 Snow Leopard or earlier and your old copy of FileMaker won't open anymore, it might be a PowerPC application that is not compatible with 10.7 and later. If that is the case, to work with your FileMaker files you should upgrade your copy of FileMaker to the latest version, which seems to be FileMaker 12.

No, Distiller does not do that job at all. Distiller makes PDF files, but it does not read them.
I am not sure what you are using: Distiller Server is finished as a product. Distiller comes with Acrobat also - this is not Distiller Server.
Acrobat Pro includes many tools for processing PDF files and can sometimes reduce file size. It can also convert to PDFX4 using Preflighting.

How can I use links to open music files (aiff)?

I want to create a pdf file with links to a large number of music files (too many to embed in the pdf). When I create a link in the normal way Adobe Reader gives me a message that it cannot open the files. How can I get round this?

I am using the link tool to open a file. The error message -

I used 1600Mhz Corsair Vengeance RAM. You can either get it in matched sets or in single modules.

Can I create a link in a text cell that will open another file?

I am creating a template in Numbers that I can use to log meeting session data, such as length, date, notes of the meeting content, action items and then also have a field (cell) for links to outside documents relevant to the meeting or client. I see how I can create a link to a webpage or an email, but not to another file on my hard drive, so that when I am in the file and reviewing notes, I can just click to open the items being referred to.
Does that make sense?

Well, if you specifically know the name of the application in question and how it accepts parameters, you can try using Runtime.exec()
If you're willing to sacrifice platform independence (which it sounds like you are, since you specifically mentioned Explorer), you can try using the NTVDM "call" command, which taps into the file associations in the registry and launches the appropriate application.
I guess it would depend on the exact functionality you want. :)

Add button which opens another vi

I have made a vi in which i want to add a button which opens a new vi and ask for necessary input or selectionthen run whole vi. Also if i won't click its selection button in main vi it should not open it. I have gone through how to make sub vi but couldn't find this kind of option where subvi can be opened by clicking some button from front panel of main vi insted thet refrence vi symbol is present on block diagram but i need it on front panel. because iam generating exe application for my panel and user can't do necessary setting in subvi with exe file.
Suggest me solution for this.

System exec, How I say to open one file and make operation in external program?

I got called an external program with the system exec.vi, but i would like the program open the file saved in the other window, i can get the file path, but how Can I put the file path in the external program and the program open the file and I tell (in this case compile), since i open one file code c and only i must to open and say to the program 'compile' and then close external program.

Hi Fonsi,
System Exec.vi will allow you to run commands like launching a program easily but it is difficult and many times not possible to execute commands within an application.
A better way maybe to approach this though ActiveX. Please look at the following example that uses ActiveX to communicate with Excel.

How do I NOT open .PDF files in Preview?

Hi Everybody,
I am sure that this is a downright goofy question, but I have looked through the forums and can't seem to find out how to open .pdf files in Acrobat by default instead of Preview. It's probably right in front of my nose, but I'm not finding it. A little help?

Select a PDF in Finder, hit ⌘ i for get info. Half way down the window that opens you will see 'Open with', click on the arrow. If Acrobat is in the list, select it and then click the 'Change all' button. If it's not on the list, click 'other' and navigate to Acrobat in the new finder window that opens and select it, then 'Change all'.

we have got two abc.sca and xyz.sca files which contains some DC's kind of the functionality. So, now we need to create new SC called MyComp.sca and i need to create one new DC caleed "display_dc" in this.
So this DC need to call the DC's which are available in the above .sca files. how to build this.
How to use once .sca file in another.
How to call dc from another sca of the dc.
how to use from one dc to another dc.
do i need to define the depency in the SLD when i am create the new SCA with using SCA files.?

I will try to give you a place to begin...
SC are Software Components. Think of them as development products, like MS Word or Adobe Reader. They include sets of DCs, development components. DCs are smaller units, like programs and libraries in the SCs.
Software architects define SCs in SLD and also define two types of dependencies between them:
- build time (required to compile and build)
- runtime (required during execution)
SCs themselves are "buckets" for DCs, so dependencies between SCs describe dependencies between DCs they include. Think of that the same way as we we say "SAP Visual Admin (SC) depends on JDK (SC)". It means that swing apps of Visual admin (DCs) need java classes packaged in JDK (DCs).

Drop Down Menu Opening another File Script

I am using a drop down menu to generate other information in different selection. I received great help before but have encountered another problem.
I have attached a example file.
Once the user has selected the offense title and it generates the above information, I
was wondering if you can script it to open another adobe form contained in the script i'm already using.. For example when
user selects the Abandon Endanger child criminal negligence, (I already made this complaint
in adobe) it would open the file.

not 100% sure if your after a hidden subform to show up after a certain selection is made or if you want the user taken to a totally different form
e.g. click option 4 and get a new document opened in you face - im guessing the second option in whihc case I think you should be able to do this by using the app.openDoc("examplename.pdf") command
not one ive used myself but it should work much the same as the app.launchURL command which is usually quite stable
so you would have some code on your preferred event
to say something like
if (this.rawValue = "whatever value you want to trigger action";
app.openDoc("examplename.pdf")
alternatively if you other form is also online you could probably trigger it using the app.launchURL function - although the app.openDoc is meant to be the appropriate function for this type of thing
