How we restore the database dmp file in Oracle10g express edition

please provide me answers as soon as possible...my database is fresh and i want to restore the dmp file in my database, that dmp file is exported by oracle 10g database on other machine.

there is no impdb or expdb command. There is an imp (for import) and exp (for export).
I assume you want to replace the existing database with the one on your laptop.
A much better and more efficient way to do this would be to backup the database on your home machine and then restore it to your office database.
but before you do anything, backup the database you are copying/importing to (backup option is available on the windows menu or its a batch or shell script in the appropriate directory)

    Hi,
You can't import dump file to apex.
For importing you have to take your database in sql script and run it on apex.

  • How get scott user database schema in oracle 10g express edition

    hi
plz any on can tell me how to get the scott user database table details into the oracle 10g express edition
Iam created the user as scott but but i didn't get the table details
...plz give me the details correctly.

You will go into this path C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\rdbms\admin\scott.sql. You can get scott.sql script yhen you need to run the script like @C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\rdbms\admin\scott.sql. Otherwise you just copy the below script and save it into one file then run that file using @

  • RESTORING THE DATABASE AFTER BEING EDITED OR DELETED

How to restore the database after being edited? I m using sql server 2008 R2, I've done backup with some foolish knowledge and many tables have disappeared from the database. I want to get them back. Please help me.

Do you have backup which includes data which has been edited/removed by you .If so below query might help.
    use master
    go
alter database db_name set single_user with rollback immediate
    go
restore database db_name from disk='locaion of backup'
    with replace,recovery
If you have transaction lgo backups as well please dont use above method. In such case you will need to  first restore full backup with no recovery like below and then apply all transaction logs with no recovery
but the last transaction log with recovery( last trn log just before you edited)
    use master
    go
alter database db_name set single_user with rollback immediate
    go
restore database db_name from disk='locaion of backup'
    with replace,norecovery
    Hope this helps

    Hi,
Archive log files are the copies of redolog files. As redo log files are circularly overwritten, oracle generates archive log file of the corresponding redo logfiles being overwritten. So if you have a backup that dates back to 10 am in the morning and if your database creashed at 3 pm,you cannot use the redo log files alone as they have incomplete information. To completely recover the database upto 3 pm,you need archive log files generated between 10 am to 3 pm. In your case since you are missing one archive log file, you cannot perform complete recovery and hence would suffer data loss.

  • How to restore a mysql dump file to database using java

    hai friends,
i'm developing an application. in that i need to back up and restore the database. i'm using mysql.
in that i used a code to back up the db.. its working perfectly and the dump file is created perfectly..
but while trying to restore the dump file nothing is happening...
can anyone provide me a sample code to restore the dump to database using java code...
    thanks in advance...

The first, biggest mistake you made in the code is that you didn't read standard output and error from the process, and/or you're ignoring exceptions. Because if you did, you would have read error messages that would have given you a clue what's wrong. (either that, or you ignored the clues, or didn't understand them and failed to tell us what the error messages are)
The second mistake is that you invoked exec with the call that takes a single string, when that string includes whitespace not used as delimiters.
The third mistake was that you used a terrible subject line for your post. Your problem is that you're having trouble with Runtime.exec. The fact that it's about mysql isn't relevent.
The fourth mistake is that you didn't mention Runtime.exec at all until pushed. You should provide these details. When you try to self-diagnose something that you don't understand, and then hide information, you're just wasting everybody's time, including your won.
The fifth mistake is that you're using poor spelling.
The sixth mistake is that you still haven't said why you're doing this in Java.

Where is the highS2.xml located on the disk? If you add it to your project you should set its Build Action to Content and its Copy To Output Directory to Always in Visual Studio:

  • Problem in Restoring the database the database

    Hi guys,
I am new to oracle , I am facing one problems is that , i having the backup of one oracle database in .dmp format.
I have to restore it to 9i database. for that i have created on database , how to restore the backup file over the new database using oracle management server.
Please give me the clue to do the things.

    1. setup your oracle environmentals and path. Usually this is easy to do if your database name is in your oratab file. From the command line type . oraenv -- that is dot-space-oraenv. When prompted enter the database sid in the same case that it is in the oratab file.
    2. from the command prompt enter
    imp file=<your dump file name> log=<your import log file name> full = y, ignore = y
You will be prompted for username and password.
More detailed information is available in the database administrators guide, and I thing the utilities guide.

  • How to download the database form the call manager 7 to excel?

how to download the database from the call manager 7 to excel document?

No, it never did - the "ask" for the DRS folks to provide unencryption capabilities for their TARs is still out there (several other BUs want this) but so far as I know there's been zero movement on it.  I've about given up hope on the DRS folks at this point - pretty clear this isn't a priority for them and I don't see much in the way of any kind of improvements on the product schedule for them at all, this included.
As a side note I've been pushing the Connection product managers to give us off box file system access to limited directories via a proxy service and roles (i.e. similiar to the ODBC proxy but for SFTP access) - armed with this we can provide our own (far superior) disaster recovery tools that work on a pull model instead of the full push DRS is built on - this would get partial backups, individual restores, about 6x increase in performance (more actually - I have a prototype that is hovering right around 10x the speed of DRS end to end), smaller backups, requires less space and resources on the server etc... etc...  Fun stuff like doing a full backup on Sunday mornings and deltas every day of the week after that and another full backup Sunday etc... would be possible.  Imagine.
I'll probably get more traction with that but it's a long road I'm afraid - as ever, asking your account team to enter a PERs helps - makes it more difficult for the product folks to delay on assigning engineering resources to such efforts.
