I have been trying to watch tutorials on how layering works. All I want to do is this: I have one image of a radio with a white background. I need to have just the radio extracted, then on a new layer (white one/blank/plain) I need to copy and paste the image of the radio two times. How can I DO THIS!?!?!?! Thanks!

In Editor, go to the expert tab.
Open picture B, the one you wish to select the radio from to add to another picture.
Use one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, to select the object. You will see an outline ("marching ants") once the selection is complete
Go to Edit menu>copy to copy the selection to the clipboard
Open picture A, then go to Edit>paste
Use the move tool to position object from picture B.
In the layers palette you should see picture A as the background layer, and the radio B on a separate layer.

  • How do I fix this layer

I have a layer with a transparent swf movie on this page but
when the page/browser is resized the layer does not move to stay in
the same position on the page. It doesn't move at all. I want the
layer with the swf to stay in the same position and move with the
    rest of the page.
    How do I fix it?
    Thank You.

  • Workflow Worked only for a While

    Hi Experts,
I have created a workflow and attached it to a phase . The workflow worked fine ,triggered mail to approver etc,but after a while , when I tested again ,the workflow engine was not triggering mail for approver's I have added .But system is locking the document successfully.
I am not even getting option to approve or reject the document  after the system lock.(I have not written any code in pre script to lock the document )
I have seen the Pending Daemon Events in background task Status and it is showing that
ODP_EVENT_WORKFLOW_ENGINE event as pending and it's count is increasing when ever I am running a workflow approval project. To my surprise the pending events row is showing blank in the Next Retry Time and the Retry Count. So I think it might not retry.
I have checked the workflow definition, it worked fine in my trial server.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Uday

    Hi Uday,
Once you delete a daemon registration from the daemon registration, the daemon will attempt to start in a couple of minutes. Even if the startup failed, it will keep on trying to restart. This is how the fault tolerant behavior is ensured for daemons. You can be certain that deleting a daemon registration is a non issue & probably it has unearthed an underlying issue..
If you don't see the daemon back in there, there seems to be a persistent error in daemon startup. This could be because the workflow event that was already created is attempted to be executed during daemon start up and it is probably crashing the daemon thread.
    Check the following:
    - In setup>system information>daemons page, make sure the "workflow" daemon category is enabled. Here the daemon enablement is based on daemon category and not per event type.
    - go to the pending events list and see if you see any workflow events that are hanging in there.. if that is case see if you can remove it (don't do this if this a production system &/or the document cannot be locked etc..)
    - Look at the daemon alerts page again. there should be some errors if the above 2 or true.
    - Look at the application logs in setup>system information>logs
Mostly one of the above should give an hint on this behavior..

  • How do i disable ALE in my co code

I am trying to work on a training module and ALE is enabled in the system.  Due to which the invoice posted shows cleared when I try and check the vendor open items.  I can't reset the cleared items as the clearing doc is "ALE-extern".  Any ideas how can I disbale ALE or else try and make the above document as open
    Would appreciate all the help
    Thanks

    Oh, that is too brutal.
Seriously, is there a way to turn off the mouse?I don't think you can do this in Java. You can patch into the event queue and disregard all MouseEvents but then your Robot would most probably stop working too. And it would still be possible to move the cursor using the mouse (but you wouldn't be able to click on anything).
Another approach would be to patch into the underlying operating system's event queue, but you can't do that in pure Java so you would have to use JNI that calls some native code. And again, this would probably screw up the Robot for you, according to the following section from the Robot API:
" Using the class to generate input events differs from posting events to the AWT event queue or AWT components in that the events are generated in the platform's native input queue. For example, Robot.mouseMove will actually move the mouse cursor instead of just generating mouse move events."
I can't think of any straightforward solution to your problem, but I might very well be overlooking something. So I at least semi-serious when I suggest that you unplug the mouse. Or at least just don't touch it during the demonstration.

  • Application failed to return status record to ALE layer after Idoc procesed

    Hi,
I am loading a full load to Product category (hierarchies) through process chain.
One of the load failed with the following error. The Idoc has status 51 in BW.
Can some suggest me the process for correcting this.
    Thanks
No status record was passed to ALE by the application
    Message no. B1358
    Diagnosis
The application failed to return a status record to the ALE layer after the IDoc was processed.
This is due to an error in the application function module which processed the inbound IDoc.
    Procedure
If you wrote the application function module yourself, you need to change the program.
If the function module in question is a standard application function module, you should consult SAP.

    Hi
If this is standard code then you will have to write code to populate the status message in exit. But in case of custom code, the above mentioned solution is best (if coding logic is correct). I have given this solution to many queries and all worked.
    Thanks

  • Need a Little Help with Understanding How Layers Work in PSE

I have PSE version 5 and I am using it on a PC with Windows XP.
As I get more into editing photos, I am enjoying it, but confusion is also starting to set in.  My question is about layers.  When I go to edit a photo for web/email use only, I start by resizing it to 72 ppi and then reducing the pixel dimensions quite a bit.  Then after that I normally go through this process of editing the photos by using normally about three different commands.  One is Levels, then I may go to Shadows/Highlights, and then my last command is always sharpening.  I used to do this all on one layer, but then finally learned to put each one of these editing features on their own layer so I can make changes/deletions without too much trouble.
When I started doing the separate layers, I was just making a copy of the background layer each time and then touching that particulay layer up with Levels, Sharpen or Shadows/Highlights.  But I noticed that depending on the order in which the layers were placed, some changes would be obscured.  If I put the Levels layer on top, and then the Sharpen layer and the Shadows/Highlight layer below that, the sharpen effect and the shadows/highlights effects were no longer there.  I could only see the levels effect.  The photo was still not sharp and so on.  If I put the Sharpen level on top, then the photo showed the sharpen effects, but now the Levels and Shadows/Highlights effects were no longer visible.
So then I started to make a copy of the background initially, do a levels adjustment here, then, instead of making a copy of the original background layer again, I would make a copy of the layer that now has the levels changes on it.  Then do the sharpen effect on this layer.  This way I had all the changes on one layer as long as I put that layer as the top layer.  But then I realized that I once again fI didn't have a layer with only one fix on it.   Finally, I started to use an adjustment layer for Levels, put this as the top layer, make a copy of the background layer, do shadows/highlights, copy background layer again, do sharpen, and this seems to work a little better.  But even with this way, depending on what order I place the sharpen and shadows/Highlights layers, one of them still seems to get obscured by the layer above it.
Can someone help me to understand how layers work in this regard.  I am obviously a little confused here.
    Thanks,
    Lee

You really aren't working efficiently. First of all, do your editing on a full sized version of the photo, since you have more data for PSE to work on and will get better results. Use save for web to make your web/email copy when you are totally done. You can resize it down on the right side of the save for web window.
Duplicating a regular layer makes an opaque layer that obscures the layers below it. It's best to start off by not working on your original image, so that you don't have to worry if you mess up. If you're working on a copy, you can work right on the background layer, or only duplicate the layer once and apply your changes to that. So you'd apply both shadows/highlights and sharpening to the same layer.
Finally, you should use an adjustment layer for levels. Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Levels. This will put levels on a transparent layer above your image, but you will need to click the layer below it to get back to a pixel layer to apply other changes (you can't sharpen an adjustment layer, for example).

  • How IDoc works in SAP

    Dear sir
I'm new to this IDoc functionality. I don't know how I can link the PP/QM data from the external system, HIFLEX, to SAP. And also SAP to HIFLEX  Any idea that you can give me on how iDoc works in SAP? Can you explain step by step process and where to configure IDoc?
    Thanks and regards
    Baswaraj

    Hi
Processing in the EDI Subsystem Layer
    Outbound
Once the control of the IDoc process is transferred to the subsystem layer. The subsystem takes the
IDoc file as input and translates it into an EDI standard format. At various milestones, the subsystem reports
the status of the process to SAP, thus providing complete visibility into the process from within SAP. The
status reported by the subsystem is attached as a status record to the IDoc in the SAP database.
To report status back to the SAP system, the subsystem creates a status file at the OS level and calls the
function module EDI_STATUS_INCOMING in SAP, passing the status file name as an input parameter. For
this, SAP provides a standard program named startrfc at the OS level to execute any RFCu2212enabled function
    module in SAP.

  • I don't know how to use a light layer in After Effects CS4

    Hello,
I work with a lot of texts layers and it's very trendy to put a light layer across the text at one point or another, it looks really good too. But I've looked on the net for tutorials and can't figure out how to use the light layer so that a light goes across a text from one side to the other. It looks like a flash light went across the text. I go to the top and choose >Layer >New >Light.
What happens is the color of the text changes (the part that isn't shined upon). How can I change the settings so that the text color doesn't change? Do you know of any video tutorials to use for a light layer?
       Thank you for your time!!

How can I change the settings so that the text color doesn't change?
That is kind of a paradox. The whole point of using 3D lights is to have them illuminate the layer, including all shading properties. Color is defined by the layer's base color multiplied with light color and intensity. You really need to set your mind into 3D mode. That aside, I wouldn't bother using a light with flat text. Simply create a feathered circle on top (or 2 or 3), set blending mode to add and animate it across your type.

  • How cdp works?

    Hi there.
I just wondering that how cdp works in cisco switch and not cisco device.
cdp is propagated multicast 01:00:0c:cc:cc:cc(not sure) on all interface that supports SNAP.
    [diagram]
    SW1------SW2------SW3
    (cisco)   (cisco)    (cisco)
in this case, sw 1 sends cdp multicast to sw2 and sw2 receive this cdp. i think that may igmp snooping is enabled by default in all interface so sw2 receives this multicast and response that "i'm your neighbor" by some mechanism (i dont no) .and doesn't flood this mcast. so it doesn't cross two hops.
    sw1 ------------sw2--------sw3
    (cisco)     (not cisco)     (cisco)
and some case that sw2 is not cisco device and doesn't work with igmp snooping, it simply flood all interface. so i can see sw3 on sw1.
if i was correct, what if that sw2(not cisco) enables igmp sooping all links?
    Can i still see sw3 on sw1??
    Best regards.

    Hi,
CDP is a Cisco layer-2 proprietary protocol and does not work with other vendor's products. Some vendors like Juniper use LLDP instead of CDP to see their directly connected neighbors.  If you have a multi-vendor environment and your device support Standard LLDP, you can try enabling LLDP on Cisco devices to see their none-Cisco neighbors.
Cisco Discovery Protocol is a Layer 2, media-independent, and network-independent protocol that networking applications use to learn about nearby, directly connected devices. Cisco Discovery Protocol is enabled by default. Each device configured for Cisco Discovery Protocol advertises at least one address at which the device can receive messages and sends periodic advertisements (messages) to the well-known multicast address 01:00:0C:CC:CC:CC. Devices discover each other by listening at that address. They also listen to messages to learn when interfaces on other devices are up or go down.

  • User tracking ip/host resolution how it works

I know usertacking using layer 3 devices to resolve host name/ ip address. on my case devices are behind the firewall and the devices not on my router arp table . the arp table is on firewall show the mac. however interestingly usertracking still resolve the name.the firewall is not even a cisco brand. that is very new to me and I im thinking may be i am not fully understand user tracking. can some one explain to me. thanks in advance

I've been meaning to write up a doc on how UT works.  In the meantime, for layer 3 resolution, UT does a few things.  Historically, it has always tried to acquire ARP entries from layer 3 devices in the network during its acquisition cycles.  A layer 3 device need not be a router.  It can be a 3560 switch, for example.  Firewalls (even Cisco firewalls) are not supported for this.  Using this layer 3 info, UT will perform a reverse lookup to get a hostname for the end host.
The next thing UT does to get layer 3 information is to listen for UTLite updates from Windows hosts.  These updates will contain the MAC address of the client, the username logged into the client, and the IP address of the client.  UT will not do a lookup of this information to get a hostname, however.
Finally, UT can query switches for DHCP snooping details to find an IP address.  This is dependent on dynamic UT being enabled, and that the end host triggered a MAC notification trap to be sent.  Of course, the switch to which the user connects must have DHCP snooping enabled.  Again, UT will not perform a hostname lookup on this IP.
My guess based on what you describe is that you have some layer 3 devices in your network like 6500s, 3560s, 4500s, etc. that have some ARP entries populate, and UT is using these to get IPs.  That assumes you're seeing hostnames.  If you are only seeing IPs, then you could be using UTLite or dynamic UT with DHCP snooping.

  • Combining multiple layers into one "final image" then working on each layer's opacity to affect what the final image looks like

Ideally the "final" image would be displayed.  I'd go over to the layers panel and work on each layer, dialing up and down the opacity and see the effects on the "final" image.  This is in regards to interior real estate.  Normally I combine my images in Photomatix (different exposures) and have that method down.  But what I'd like to be able to do is to, say, strobe different areas of the scene while shooting maybe six images (same exposure), load those six into CS5 (File>Scripts>Load Files Into Stack) then proceed.
I've looked at a ton of videos on Youtube and searched CS5 Help and just can't find the answer to what exactly what I'm trying to do.  I can choose Edit>Auto-Blend Layers and that does indeed give me a final image (like in Enfuse or Photomatix) but I haven't found a way to then adjust each individual layer to affect that final image.  And I know there's a way, maybe coming at this from a completely different direction.  Thanks.

Ok I will take the last question first, since that is probably the easiest.end
A merged file or a flattened file is the same thing as a composite.
A merged file still has its transparency and data that is outside the canvas area.
A flattened file is a merged file that is converted to a background layer that does not support transparency or data outside the canvas.
A composite can be a merged copy of the existing layers if you use the multiple key strokes I mentioned above. Whereas a merged file is a composite of the original layers. So I personally use the term composite to mean a copy as merged and flatten already explain that process, no need to give them an additional term to mean the same thing.
Generally blend modes work by selecting individual layers before changing the blend mode. However you can group the layers or convert them to a smart object and apply a blend to that group or object.
Normally you set the blend mode as you work on each layer. But you could set all of them to overlay or reduce the opacity to 30 or 50 percent to see through all the layers, then adjust them later on.
I am not sure how it works on the mac, but on windows you can select the blend text box then use the up and down arrow keys to change the blend mode to see how it looks.
I recommend that you go through the free videos on layers, masks, opacity, and layer styles. This will help you dramatically. Also a few books on the subject will help has well.
