Howto add static text in xsl stylesheet

Hi,
I'am having problems trying to write a static text to a fixed length file using the file adapter.
I'am using the FlatStructure sample provided.
When I run the sample, there's no problem... But when I remove the mapping from tns:State <-> fix:State (in addr1Toaddr2.xsl) and change the fix:State to a static text (Set Text option in right mouse popup menu) then this text will NOT show up in the written fixed length file.
My addr1Toaddr2.xsl looks like this:

Note:
The construct "<xsl:value-of select="string('E234567')"/>" is my 'patch'to write a static text.
Can you tell me what I'am doing wrong? Or is this a bug...

Hi ,
I am assuming you are using Oracle JDeveloper XSL Mapper for designing the XSL. Currently , our XSL Mapper has a limitation due to that whenever you add any static text to target node in mapper, it adds an extra "\n" with that static text. And so our Native format translator doesn't find the definition for that and that's why it doesn't get printed in the file.
Workaround [although little painful] is remove those extra "\n" after you finish your XSL design.
We are working to fix this issue asap.

Is it possible to add static text to a TOC?

Hi, Gang!
My editor has suggested that I create an annotated TOC by adding a few sentences of descriptive text under each chapter title entry in the TOC. This static text would fall between the chapter title entry and the listing of subheadings within the chapter.
While I could create this static text as a final step, manually formatting the TOC around it, I would much prefer to create this text so that it survives updating the book (and TOC).
Is this possible? The only thing I can think of is creating some markers of some sort and storing the static text as marker variables and then somehow having the TOC pick up that marker and display the text in the appropriate place, but I'm not sure if that would work, nor how I'd do it.
I welcome any suggestions for accomplishing this.

If you have the content in markers, you can do a list of markers. Be sure to create a custom marker type.
However, I do not believe one can create a list of paragraphs (a TOC) and markers together in one list. If you did both, your last step would be to move the marker entries into the TOC list. Of course, this is not preserved during book updates, but you would not have to rewrite the inserted text.

Using xsl stylesheet with List View Web Part to display custom text

i have an xsl stylesheet with sharepoint listview webpart. The list view shows some items based on a filter. I want to display custom text such as "No Items" when there are zero items in the list view using the xsl stylesheet. How do i achieve

I have customised the list view webpart using a custom xsl file by including it in the xsl link of the list view webpart. So i think i need to include the condition in the xsl file itself else it wont work. Since the list view webpart isnt using the default

2) Mack Inputs.

From your description, it seems that you have a RichEdit Box control and you want to add a hyperlink feature to your RichEditBox control. Could you tell us what type project do you want to use, windows form, WPF or native MFC?
For using windows form and WPF, you should be easy to find some ways to achieve your goal on the web. For example,

How to add coloumns in the static text view

Hello all,
I am using answers and I want to use the static text view
Now I want to make my own table.
I was thinking somthing like this:

How to add a text area in a Content pane..?

By default the content pane of the JFrame uses a Border Layout. So you should:
1) Create a JPanel
2) Set the layout of the JPanel to FlowLayout
3) add the buttons to the panel
4) add the panel to the content pane
5) add your text area to the content pane

Static Text - Font Size

I have a requirement for an Add-On form to make the text larger than normal (larger than than all the other forms) as it needs to be read from some distance away.
it_STATIC items do not have a FontSize attribute, is there another way of overriding the font size for static text items?

Hi all,
We have some doubts in uploading static text files in RAR 5.3 version. Can anybody please clarify at the earliest?
1) Can we prepare the SoD rule set in the static text files (as provided by SAP during installation)
till Action (t- code) level conflicts and upload the same. After that cam we add/change the
authorization objects manually as per the business requirement? Whether this is possible?
Does a small SPACE in the text file will impact the rule set uploading?
2) If we are configuring the rule set manually i.e when we are assigning t-codes to the functions,
we believe the authorization objects will gets picked up automatically from the back end system for that particular t-code and the object values can be edited as per the SoDs of the business requirement? Is our understanding correct?
If this is true, refer to question 1 whether we will get the authorization objects in case of
uploading the text files (Business process, Funcitons, rule set,action level) only at action
level?
3) Once if we have used the text files for uploading the rule set can we edit them manually i..e disabling the t-codes from function, deleting the risk ids etc.,. ORELSE even the changes has to be made in the text files and upload again replacing the existing rule set whenever there are changes in the SoD rule set?

Ans - Theoratically we can prepare our own text files in the same format as provided by SAP. Till action level it is not so difficult. Difficulty rises when we create permission files. This is near to impossible to create exact copy of SPA authorization objects and values due to human error. So it is advisable to upload SAP standard for sap specific analysis and at the same time we can keep org levle ruleset and risks. We do it by doing it in GRC manually( Create business process, function id, risks and generate rul sets) - that is better practice.

We have to change it in GRC manually.
From your question what I could get is that you want to do it according to your business scenario. Better if you collect data(as you will even do in case of text files) and configure it manually.

XSL stylesheet transformation of RSS feeds

Does Safari support XSL transformation of RSS feeds? Or does it always override XSL with its own RSS reader format? Details below:
I'm starting to mass-produce RSS feeds for our organization. We just want one file for each purpose which can be universally used in RSS readers, iTunes/other podcatchers, and web browsers. I created an XSL stylesheet for it which works perfectly in Internet Explorer, Opera, and Firefox (current release, anyway!), but Safari always adds the "feed://" prefix and displays it with its blue RSS reader format. Is there no way around this? If I take out the the <rss version="2.0"> header, it works, but then iTunes won't accept it.
Do I have to produce two separate files, the first without the RSS notation for Safari's sake, and the second with the notation for iTunes? That seems like an unnecessary step for us, and confusing for our users. Is there any way around this? I couldn't find any support documents that addressed this directly. Thanks -- Jim

Accessing lookup table from XSL stylesheet

HI Gentlemen,
Given two XMLTYPE tables: a Master and a Lookup. The Lookup table consists merely of {key, value} pairs. I am about to display Master table contents--subtrees selected from one big XMLTYPE column. The display process is governed by an appropriate XSL stylesheet. Master table elements have data only in their attributes. For example: <time U="2"/> which means that the value of the Unit attribute is 2, meaning "Minute" according to the Lookup table.
My question is: Does anybody of you know a fast and safe method to SELECT from the Master AND Lookup (inner join, as in a pure relational environment), thereby REPLACING the key value with its MEANING (textual interpretation). This would be extremely important as numeric codes do not have meaning to the user. User-friendly behavior requires that all important information be displayed at once. (Note that I have nothing against modifying my stylesheet to query the Lookup table as well, if no straightforward master-detail querying technique exists.)
Please give me an idea if you have.

Here is the stuff you requested. I admit, it is fairly abundant, but you will see the structure and the main points. Some of the elements are multiple-occurrence, hence the XMLTABLE() solution was no good because of the large number of generated rows. The stylesheet would be ideal to display embedded "nested collections".

How the repository variable work on the dashboard report in static text

I would like to display something like the below on the dashboard prompts in static text.
The Data extracted as of <repository variable>
I created a repository variable which extracts the last updated date of the warehouse.
The static message on the dashboard should show as above where repository variable should be the last updated date from the warehouse.
I appreciate if anyone can help me do this.

1) Put an extra column in your workspace. It doesn't matter what column you choose. Drag this column all the way to the left so it is the first column in your Request.
2) Click on the fx button and delete the contents.
3) Click on the "variable" button on the bottom right of the fx window, select "repository variable" and then type the name of the repository variable you created.
4) Go to the Narrative View.
5) Type the text, "Data extracted as of" and then type @1.
6) Change the "Rows to display" (right-side of the Narrative View window) to 1.
7) Add this view to your Compound Layout.
