Howto? SSO server calls through proxy (not reverse)

I developed an authentication plugin for Oracle SSO Server (10g 9.0.0.4). This plugin initiates HTTP requests to an external authentication server somewhere on the internet. How do I configure the SSO server (or apache or OC4J, at least somewhere) that the HTTP request my plugin initiates, is routed through a proxy server (that is a traditional old fashioned proxy server)? I don't want to include it in the code by the way...
I can't find it in the docs nor does metalink have any record of such a thing.

Let's me summarize my request.
I am managing the frontier of my customer. I have a web server farm based on Reverse Proxy and Proxy. The Reverse Proxy side is well consolidated and it is based on an Oracle iPlanet Web Server 7 web farm. The Proxy side is actually based on Squid. There are a Production and a Staging environments, about 30 web configurations with 90 web instances and 20 Squid instances.
I am looking for interesting ideas to convince the customer and replace Squid with Oracle. Infact let's consider that any replacement has a cost so the additional value is mandatory!
If I have understood correctly it is not a good idea to use Oracle iPlanet Web Server 7 acting as Proxy, right ?
Ok, let's assume iPlanet Web Proxy Admin Server and iPlanet Admin Server coexist in the same machine, does iPlanet Web Proxy Admin GUI support SSO with iPlanet Web Server GUI ?
It could be additional value, I mean...

  • Calling through Contacts not working on iPhone 4s

I am a brand new Verizon customer, although I have had an iPhone 2G and an iPhone 4 with ATT.
The good news is that I can finally get cell phone service in my Manhattan apartment.  The bad news (apart from the fact that I am being forced to pay for way too many more minutes than I could possibly want) is that the new phone is giving me lots of trouble making call through the contacts app.
When I try to call someone using the contacts app, I get a message saying that I am not signed up for long distance or international calling.  This happens with regular old domestic phone numbers.  If I manually type in the number to call, it works fine.  I never had this problem with my ATT iPhones.  What gives?
Any help will be much appreciated.

    Hello balkan,
If you have not resolved the opportunity you were having with the contacts not listed in your sms conversations I have a suggestion.  From your device navigate to Settings>Phone>International Assist and if it is on please turn it off.  Once you make sure that feature is off return to the home screen and double tap the home button to clear the application manager then power cycle the device. Test a message and if unsuccessful dial *228 send and choose option 1 and let the phone re-program again.  When that is complete the device should populate the contact name.  You can also find assistance here  Please let me know your results.  Thank you.

  • Connect to Server HTTPs through Proxy Server Problem

I am trying to connect through a company proxy via port 8080 to a https connection on a server so that it can mount on a desktop. Using 10.4.11 on Mac Pro
The connection works http through the company network and works http and https through my home network. The company require we use secure connections or something they will supply which will be out of date and clunky to use. I am using FullSwitch as a workflow so need the volume to mount.
    Basically I do the following:
    Go
    Connect to Server
    type address https://??????????????????/???????
I then get a Proxy Auth where I put my domain, user name and password
A certificate is then returned and I press continue
It then attempts to pass through the proxy tunnel to connect but just keeps going and going......
It should come up at this point with the server login but it doesn't
We are told by the IT team which only supports PCs that it is then that the Mac tries to create 2000+ connections but doesn't just creates lots of network traffic.
In between us and the proxy we sit behind a firewall but are told that there are no rules to stop https etc. I can connect to the site through Safari via https but as I need to upload files I need to be able to mount via https as a volume
Are there any suggestions as to what the issue may be or questions that I can try and ask IT to gather more info?
    Many thanks

Many thanks for your reply. We can use ftp but can not tunnel sftp through the proxy.
As I use fullswitch for automation I would like to keep the simplicity of mounting the server as files can be uploaded easily. Currently using http no problems but am being forced to use https from IT Security and of course being in a large corporation with only 35 Macs they say they don't support Macs and hey you have to do it our way or else. Driving me mad.
Sorry for going off on one but it is so frustrating as the supplier we are sending to wants the files the way we currently send them as they have their system workflow but my company wants us to use their sftp system that is clunky for in and out going file connections forcing suppliers to go to our sftp servers and not us supplying to them.....................
Right then I currently use Transmit with Type 7 on the proxy type for FTPing files using FTP Protocol not SFTP and have no problems going to the sites we have asked to get specific access to (again takes 2-14 days to get all the firewall rules changed to allow access to new ftp sites we are given, very efficient working practice)
So as you can see I really want to get the https working as it is the best option for workflow if IT security want us to secure.
Many thanks, again sorry for my ranting

  • After having SSO user password through url not working

    Hi guys,
We have an Institutional portal and BW portal to publish reports. Before the SSO was configured we had some UrlIViews where we fixed a user and password through the url, ie:
      http://myportal.net:50400/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=TMP01&sap-client=200&j_user=user1&j_password=pwd1
    It worked fine.
Recently SSO (with SapLogonTickets) has been configured between the two portals.
I have my same user on both servers and SSO its working, even though the URL sends another user, I log on to the bw portal as my own user.
Some people do not have a BW user, so when they click the url, a login is presented with a default user (user1) and password in blank ready for input. I guess because it couldnt do a SSO.  The problem is that if they introduce the password(pwd1), or even if they change for another valid username and password, the portal rejects all attempts to log in.  Such as if tried to log in with an non existing user (using the SSO).
Is there a way override SSO when there is no user, such as it is working in the same portal but with BW R3?
    Thanks,
    help will be aprecciated

    Hi Benjamin,
I have not solved it yet as I'm delving into Flash Remoting to BC4J issues. ARRRRGGGGG!
However, I'm thinking that there may be a solution using "mod-rewrite processing" within the httpd.conf file. If I can use Regular Expressions to change the "case" in mod-rewrite then I can probably fix it. Have to dust-off my Apache Docs.

  • Creative Cloud Libraries through proxy not syncing

    Hi,
We use Creative Cloud inside our company with proxy server. We allowed all URLs recommended by Adobe on our proxy server:
    https://na1mbls.licenses.adobe.com
    https://ims-na1.adobelogin.com
    https://adobeid-na1.services.adobe.com
    https://na1r.services.adobe.com

    prod-rel-ffc-ccm.oobesaas.adobe.com:443
    lm.licenses.adobe.com:443
    www-du1.adobe.com
Everything is working fine (activation, installation, updates...), except the new feature "Creative Cloud Libraries", we got the message "unable to connect to the remote server" and synchronization fail.
I asked Adobe support without success, they only provide me this list of URLs and they don't want to listen more on this issue.
We monitored all traffic going through our proxy and nothing is blocked.
    If someone have an idea....
    Thanks in advance.

  • HOWTO: send a mail through Lotus notes by Java Code

    Dear All,
I have requirement with me, where i have to write a java code which will send a mail from lotus notes .
Could you please provide me sample source code and different options for implementing this .

Generally, whatever program you use to read mail, it will ultimately be sent by a "Mail Transfer Agent" which understand SMTP. I've got Lotus Notes here as my mail reader, but when my programs send mail they use java mail, and send the mail as SMTP using the appropriate mail server (sometimes called the "smart host"). It the mail is for my mailbox the MTA then forwards it to the Lotus Notes mail store.

  • Settingup Exchange server available through proxy - How?

Within my emailclient (not on iPhone) I am able to give the exchangeserver's name AND the proxy server that I should use connecting to it.
    Exchangeservername: exchange.mycompany.com
    Proxyname: https://proxy.mycompany.com
(connect to SSL - only connect when .... *.mycompany.com)
Where can I find these settings on my iPhone?
    Greets
    Robert

The iPhone connects to the Exchange server only via IMAP with SSL - you cannot designate a proxy server when setting up an Exchange account on the iPhone.

  • Proxy server v4.0.9 not caching as expected

I've 2 Web proxy server configured in reverse mode and in the same proxy array.
I'm just doing basic testings and noticed a document is not cached by the proxy array, while I think it should.
The proxy access log is as follows (nothing in the error log):
    192.168.101.245 - - [20/Apr/2009:15:20:23 +0100] "GET /at06_REDESIGN.css HTTP/1.1" p2c_hl:489 p2c_cl:27147 p2c_rc:200 r2p_hl:415 r2p_cl:27147 r2p_rc:200 c2p_hl:596 c2p_cl:- p2r_hl:671 p2r_cl:- DNS_time:5 p2r_cnx_time:0 p2r_init_wait:8 p2r_full_wait:18 Total_time(us):24000 c_fin_status:FIN r_fin_status:FIN cache_status:ABORTED
I can't figure out why the the final cache status is always ABORTED while for other documents of the same kind (.js files for example), the proxy caches them.

Basically, both proxies have exactly the same caching configuration: each possible must be cached, if possible, without low size limit.
Any idea of what could be wrong ?

Now that I have the error log level set to fine, I think I see the problem, which looks like a bug in the proxy:
My (reverse) proxy server is in the "GMT+1" timezone. When it gets a document from the backend server,
the header shows the document is valid for one our, but the proxy erroneously considers, according to its
error log, that the document is expired, as shown in the following error log extract:

  • Re: (forte-users) HTTP request through proxy server

    Daniel -
    No, it does not. ;)
How do you say to HTTPRequest to go through proxy?
    Thanks,
    Taras

    Hi,
It works very well. I have experienced this model for a distant Forte client
calling a Forte Server service Object for instance without any environment
and without TCP access (passing through firewall for instance).
It has also worked very well to make an injectot to improve Web Enterprise
and IIS using the SendRequest from HTTPAccess.
    Hope this helps,

You can also use the HTTP-DC project.... You don't
need Web Enterprise for this. From what I can tell,
this is available in L.x on....
There is api documentation in M.2 (with scant
    examples.)
There's a special process to put the project in your
repository (it isn't installed in the repository in
the standard install,) the documentation in M.2
(probably in M.0 too, AFAIK) that tells you how to do
this (look for HTTP-DC in the online help.)
I haven't done much with it yet, I've just installed
it. If anybody out there has examples, that'd be
great. I'll try to contribute more the moment I get a
    chance to explore it....

  • Direct calls within the oracle application server to the IIS using reverse

trying to direct calls within the oracle application server to the IIS using reverse proxy. I am having problems...
What is trying to be achieved is a call to the 3rd party web server (IIS with Oracle SSO plug-in) that will be invoked from the OAS.
    Any suggestions

First you might get more response if you move your question to following forum:
    Oracle Application Server - General
Second, I didn't quite understand your question. Can you pl. clarify it bit more? What exactly do you mean by invoking IIS from OAS (I am assuming by OAS you mean OC4J here)?
    Thanks
