HP 2159m HDMI issue!!

I have an HP 2159m monitor and over the past weeks have been using it for both my computer (DVI Connection) and my Playstation 3 (HDMI Connection) video outputs. At first everything was fine and working great. Now after about 3 weeks the DVI connection is completely fine but the PS3 to 2159m connection via HDMI cable is not working. When the monitor auto scans it says it's recieving a signal from the PS3 through HDMI and lists is as active but when I switch to this display it is always blank and there is no audio. I have tried setting the monitor to factory defaults, downloading the newest driviers, changing various PS3 settings as well as testing the HDMI cable as well as the HDMI ports of the PS3 and 2159m monitor seperately and both seem to work fine. I have heard of this problem before with o solutions so far. Is there anything that can be recommend for fixing this issue??

Ryan,
Try a monitor reset.  It has worked for some with the a PS3.  Unplug the monitor and hold down the power button for 30-60 seconds. Now plug the monitor back in and give it a go.  Only connect one video cable to the monitor.

  • 1080p apple tv hdmi issues in movie info page.

Hi, anyone have an issue with the latest 1080p device and hdmi issues in the movie previews? With the new hardware I have an issue when I go to a movie preview; the image shifts green and then my tv loses sync. Thanks

It's unlikely to be a compatibility issue with 2 different TV sets, but not impossible - did you use a different HDMI cable with each - if not I'd swap HDMI cables or inputs.
Frankly if it's new I'd just get it exchanged in case you have a lemon - consider compatibility issues if a replacement did the same.

  • S6000 HDMI Issue

Back in January I bought an S6000 tablet from Best Buy, and I've been extremely pleased with it. However, when I try to plug it into the TV using micro HDMI, the HDMI notification repeatedly pops up and disappears on the tablet, but nothing shows up on the TV. I attempted to phone customer service, but they were of little help. There was a thread a few months ago about a similar problem, but I was unsure if support was available in North America. I really don't wanna be stuck with a defective tablet, so help is great appreciated.

    Hello grundo1561
I apologize for the display problems you are experiencing. There is support available for Idea products. I have posted two links, hope you find them helpful,

  • HDMI issues with ATV2

MY ATV2 has HDMI issues since the last update, does not display anything after the Apple logo after a reboot.

  • Possible 3.01 HDMI issue

For several versions Video settings have had HDMI options including along the lines of Auto, YCrCb (or other variant), RGB High, RGB Low.
On my 2.0+ AppleTVs I found RGB low to be preferable giving a less contrasty picture, and on 2.0+ software changing this settingstill works.
Now on my 'new' 3.01 refurb that arrived today the High/Low settings make no difference and look identical.
Can anyone actually adjust High/Low and see an on-screen difference in 3.01?

I've always wondered if some sort of HDMI issue at the time of software update doesn't cause some files not to be overwritten properly. If possible I've undertaken software updates while connected by component. +(in the thought that it might not be so much the particular hardware combination but the state of the software at upgrade)+

  • Screen problems - black screen and lock-up (plus HDMI issues)

Hi, I'm not sure if these are related to the same fundamental issue, but they are both serious problems that need resolution.
I have a new mid-2012 MBPretina.  I am on all the latest updates (10.8.2).
The first problem is the most recent, and the most serious problem.  Since I updated the Java a couple of days ago I've been experiencing random black screens and lock-ups.  Essentially, what happens is that sometimes when I perform an action (opening an app, clicking a link on a webpage, performing other kinds of in-app actions, etc.) the computer screen will go black.  About half the time I can, through my own memory, try keyboard combinations to quit or force quit the most recently used app (the one where the action was just performed), and I will get some glimpse of the underlying apps, while the menubar and other areas will remain black until I move a window on top of the black space.  Sometimes no key combinations work and I am forced to perform a hard restart with the power button.  This is a serious issue, obviously, since I will lose current work/progress in my apps.  I'm not sure if this is because of the new Java update, or has to do with something else, but it started happening shortly thereafter, over the last 2 days.  I work most of my waking day on my laptop, and this "black screen of death" has happened about 5 or 6 times a day.
The second problem I have been experiencing since I starting using my MBPr with external HDMI displays in August/September.  The problem is that I will plug the MBPr into an HDMI display, the screen will temporaliy go black, and then bring me to the login screen (as if it's crashing, albeit softly).  This happens about 1 out of 4 times nowadays.
How can I fix these problems, especially the first?

    UPDATE:
Clearly there's a problem because a third of the way through a clean reinstallation from scratch it black screened again. Hmmmm.
Now this is not good. Problem is I can't rule out potential updates from Apple that might have caused this either.
    The search for solutions continues.

  • Mid 2010 Macbook pro - Mini DisplayPort to Hdmi issues

Hi there! I'm having some issues connecting my mid 2010 Macbook pro to my 32" Toshiba LED TV.
I'm running OS X Version 10.8.2 , as mentioned before, on the mid 2010 Macbook pro.
The issue which I have, is that when I connect my Hdmi cable to my minidisplay port through the adapter, I keep getting a blue screen popping up.
I am using a Startech MiniDisplay to HDMI Adapter Converter and ION 6FT Flat HDMI CABLE.
    anyone with suggestions on help?

I had issues with getting my MBP to work with my Vizio XVT323SV via the RGB port. What worked for me was downloading SwitchResX (http://www.madrau.com/indexSRX4.html) and setting up a custom 1920x1080 resolution using the values found in the Vizio user guide. Works like a champ now. Best shareware investment I ever made. Now I can watch my EyeTV recordings at full HD resolution.
    Hope this helps. Good luck!
Sidebar: I also bought the Griffin mini-DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable, but I can't get any signal at all via that connection. The Mac doesn't see the TV and the TV doesn't see a signal. Very frustrating. My RGB connection is good enough but I bet HDMI would be even better.

  • VGA to HDMI issue with Toshiba TV

    Hi,
I'm having issues connecting an old powerbook G4 running 10.4.11 into a Toshiba TV. I have a DVI to VGA converter from the laptop connected to a VGA to HDMI cable running to the TV's HDMI input. The laptop recognises the television in the display settings but is giving me a blue screen. I've tried restarting, and re plugging in the cables and it just won't work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

You need a DVI to HDMI converter or cable. HDMI uses digital video, which is lost when you go to VGA.

I have a 2010 15" macbook pro. for the longest time i have had it hooked up to my 32 in vizio led tv via minidisplay to hdmi cable when recently it quit working and my tv would say retreiving data... and then no signal. at first i thought maybe i needed a new cable so i tried that and it still didn't work. Yes. That's a handshake issue, meaning the two cannot communicate. Your TV is the issue.

  • Apple TV, My Receiver, and Potential HDMI Issues...?

    Hey all
Okay, I'm about to bite the bullet and snag myself an Apple TV, but I have a couple of wicked-fast questions that I think I know the answers to — but I'd like confirmation.
    1. If I get an Apple TV, I want to run it through my main receiver, so my plan would be to connect the ATV HDMI to my receiver like all my other components (my Onkyo has a single HDMI out, BTW). This will treat the ATV like all my other components as far as sound through my mains, etc.
Am I correct to assume this will work? Apple's docs seem to want you to connect directly to your TV...
    2. I have heard that upon upgrading to the v3 software that was just released, some people are having issues with the ATV recognizing when the receiver has switched to it, making an ATV restart necessary. Anyone having that problem? I feel it may be because these people are using legacy receivers...?
    THANKS!
    Maury

I've got a brand new Denon AVR 4810Ci receiver that is current to the HDMI standard. I've got no other issues with HDMI sources other than the AppleTV.
The problem is that the tv currently meets the HDMI standard too.
    So it's a little more complicated than just being tested to receive certification.{quote}
Which must mean software / firmware. I also have 2 other devices passed through my receiver, connected by HDMI, without issue. Nothing on my set-up, software or hardware wise (both box and cable), has changed for about 2 years except for the various Apple TV updates. No problems with v1 or v2, yet v3.....

  • HDMI ISSUE

I have an M7-J010dx i7 HP laptop runing Win8.1 with all updates installed.  I do volunteer work that requires I give presentations.  I am experiencing compatibility issues with the HDMI port on my laptop and projectors made by Digital Galaxy.  Specifically their Dreamland DG-737L model.  If I use an adater to covert my HDMI output to the old 15 pin input and connect that way, the projector works, but of coarse, I loose the sound support the projector has which I need.  This occurs with either Powerpoint presentations or video materials.
When I connect the 4ft long HDMI cable from the projector to my laptop, it turns off my laptop sreen and locks the system regardless of the starting settings on either the projector or my laptop.  Unplugging the HDMI cable allows my laptop screen to return to normal.
When I tried an available Dell laptop on the same connection, it connected and worked normal and played the video and sound.  My HDMI port works on other HDMI connections or with the converter but will not work when connecting via HDMI to the Digital Galaxy projector.
    Any Suggestions????

    Hi,
Uisng adapter from HDMI to VGA you will have no sound. You have to make more connecton from your laptop to get sound. Have you tried to connect HDMI cable to the projector then (a) turn on the projector then (b) turn on the laptop.
    Regards.

  • MeToo: 1080p HDMI Issues

    1. Updated to Take 2 and after the 3-5x flickery HDMI "handshakes" at boot I don't have the option for 1080p output. Stuck at 720p or 1080i (yuck). Is this an EDID issue? Westinghouse LVM-42w2 42" 1080p native "TV".
    2. Rented Simpsons HD. First 10-15 minutes of the movie were "postage stamped" on the TV.. after awhile it "popped" out to widescreen with the correct aspect ratio? Also HDMI related?
    3. 9x out of 10 I cannot get the aTV to "wakeup" after sleeping. It's clearly not sending the HDMI signal out correctly.
FWIW this is a vanilla aTV. TIA for any tips. Frustrating! DD5.1 makes it all bearable however. :-D

I downloaded The Simpson movie in HD this morning before work, and was disappointed that it was postage stamp size. That does not seem very HD. Certainly not worth an extra $1!
I only watched a few minutes, so I don't know it it poped bigger later. I'll check tonight when I get home.

  • HDMI issue on Qosmio F60-111

    Dear all
I have a strange problem with my laptop HDMI port. I've searched a lot, read the user manual, tried every solution available online and yet was not able to solve the problem.
I connected the HDMI cable between the laptop and LG LCD screen while both are turned on. It was not working giving me a ''no signal'', then I tried to the manual and used the hotkey 'FN+F5' but only found the LCD of the laptop, then I turned the laptop off and check the BIOS but still no change.
However when I turned the laptop off while turning on the TV screen, the display was on the TV for the first starting process meaning when showing the Qosmio sign and the signal of starting windows and then the display turns back to the laptop screen and the TV screen gives me the sign of no signal.
I also removed the driver and used the last one from Toshiba driver support site but still the same error happens, I also tried to check the nvidia control panel--> display---->set multiple screen-------> rigorous display detection still no change.
Ive also checked the HDMI control but didn't found anything un usual all marked with on. I also connected the HDMI with my other laptop DELL and it worked right away so I know there is nothing wrong with cable or TV setting and channel selection.
    Please support

    Hi
Not quite sure whats wrong here but I think you should firstly go to BIOS and should set it to default (F9). Save the changes and reboot the unit.
Additionally you can remove the battery and Ac adaptor for a while and should press and hold the power button 30 sec long. Then connect both parts and power up the unit.
I think notebooks HDMI port is OK because the Qosmio splash screen was visible on the TV. So possibly its just an system (Windows) issue.
You are right, the FN + F5 switches between the internal and external display so the usage of this key combination should enable the screen on LG TV.
Try also to set the sound to HDMI as default. To set the audio device for using HDMI, follow the steps bellow:
    1. Click Start
    2. Settings
    3. Control Panel
    4. Hardware and Sound
    5. Sound /Digital Output Device (HDMI)
    6. Click the Set Default Button
If you will not be able to enable the HDMI, i recommend system recovery
