HP 564 cartridges not compatible with my photosmart 5510

Hi,
I have a photosmart 5510 printer that I bought in Japan. It came with a set of 178 cartridges.
I moved to korea and bought a set of new HP 564 cartridges here because the 178 cartridges are not available in Korea. On the box of the cartridges it says that the cartridges are suitable for the photosmart 5510.
After installing I get an "incompatible cartridge" error.
If I use sureSupply via the HP utility to find compatible cartridges and I select Korea as my current location I get the following message:
You selected the following location: Korea
Is this your current location? We have detected that cartridges purchased in the location you have selected will not work with your printer. Common reasons for this include:
you bought your printer in another country
you bought your printer on the Internet from a supplier in another country.
your printer was provided by your employer who moved it from another country.
you selected the wrong location on this website.
Your printer can be reset to work in the location you have selected: Korea
Contact HP Support for more information on having your printer reset to work in this location.
Below that there is a link "Contact HP for product support" but if I click that I end up on the sureSupply page and I have to select my model and location. If I do that I see a list of 564 cartridges I can buy.
On the top of the page there is a "contact HP" link but that link (a javascript link) does not do anything (in safari on OSX).
How can I have my printer reset to work in Korea (with 564 cartridges)?

@ JeroenKorea - If you bought the printer in one region and moved to a new region you need to call customer support to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this; it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work.

I used Google Translate on the page that banhien provided above in an attempt to help you find the number to call. For an inkjet/ all-in-one printer the number listed is 1588-3003, The hours of operation are: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Mon-Fri), and 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Saturday), excluding public holidays. Hence I had contacted the HP service centre of our area where I was informed that the cardridges compatible with my printer is HP 61 only and the hardware of my printer does not support HP 802.
    Please help as I have not been able to find HP 61 anywhere in my locality.

    Hi sharjilahmed, 
    The 802 cartridges are the correct ones for your region. If you purchased the printer from a Region other than India you will need to contact technical support, so they can assist you with getting the region changed on the printer. Contact numbers for India support below.

    I was using OS Snow Leopard and on 8/1/13 I downloaded Mountain Lion.  Then I found out it was not compatible with my HP Printer (HP Photosmart C5580 all-in-one) so I called Apple support and the tech told me to erase the hard drive instead of going in the time machine.  Well I did that and then it took about three hours three days a week for about three weeks on the phone with an apple tech to get all my stuff back on my computer.  I have had trouble with my printer (won't do the scan anymore and wasn't printing on my DVDs.  Also the computer keeps freezing up when it is in the sleep mode, etc.
    When I tried to list my problem on this forum it lists your OS at the bottom and mine had Mountain Lion listed as what I was using so apparently it didn't erase it.  Want to know how to get Mountain Lion off and put my Snow Leopard on so things start working right.

    Go to the  menu/About This Mac - what OS version shows there?
    Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
    Revert to a Previous OS X
    Revert to Snow Leopard
    If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

  • HP C5380 DVD/CD Printing Feature Not Compatible With Mac

    I purchased this all-in-one specifically for the feature of printing direct to cd/dvds. Other functions work fine but this will not. After contacting HP Support I am informed that this feature is not compatible with Mac. Surely this is false advertising as nowhere on the packaging can I find any reference to this. Under specifications it shows that system requirements were Mac OSX 10.5.
    Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix? I have searched mac support but can find no reference to this. Interested to hear other viewpoints and experiences.

    I would try printing directly on CD/DVD from the application HP Photosmart Studio.. Follow the steps below:
    1. Open HP Photosmart Studio
    2. Select an image from the Photosmart Studio library/browser
    3. Choose "Create" in the toolbar
    4. In the menu on the left, choose the following settings:
    - Project: CD/DVD Label
    - Label Type: CD/DVD (5 inch/120 mm)
    5. Move the image from the media bar to the label, resize it if necessary
    6. Click "Print" on the toolbar

  • Mail app deleted and reinstall wont open, says not compatible with OSX

    i accindetally deleted my mail app and emptied the trash, when I tried to reinstall from the startup disk, it installs but wont open, saying that the version of mail is not compatible with the version of OSX (10.5.8)

    There is no downloadable version of Mail.app - it comes with the operating system i.e. on your install disks.

  • I need to silently upgrade from 3.5 to 7 but get an error message after 7 install. Platform version 7.0 is not compatible with minVersion = 1.9.1

    I'm trying to silently upgrade my environment to FF 7. I've gotten the silent install working great, it puts in my Proxy Server info, reassigns the home page and all that. But, the last version we pushed out was FF 3.5. If a user had that on their PC and they run the FF7 install, they get weird messages when clicking on the icon.

    Do you have other virtualization or security software that might protect .ini and possibly other files in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) and prevent Firefox from updating them properly?
    You need to do a clean reinstall.
    Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

    I want to add another management server to our existing SCOM environment. But whenever I run this setup on a new server I get stuck in the window for selecting the OperationsManager database. The database field stays blank and in the OpsMgrSetupWizard log

    Apparently there was a newer version of SCOM setup in msdn and someone upgraded our existing SCOM environment. Downloaded the new setup, new report viewer controls and a System
    CLR Types for Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 and now it works!!
