HP Care Package - 93 days with no laptop or working

After 6 days of trying to get in contact with my case manager and talking with at least 4-5 who at least 3 left messages for her each day? other case managers telling me she's busy and were MUCH Freindlier to me, She tells me she's gonna have to call me again later, and that it'll take up to a week+ to get this straightened out, and from our talk i am not gonna be happy with her solution at all.
ANY way at all i can get a new case manager or someone who will actually get this done quick.
My 3+ times sending my laptop to HP, you guys have broken more then fixed it, putting the wrong montior on my laptop,Webcam, Keyboard, Mic, WIFI, for things you have broken, and having it at the repair place for 3 weeks, 2-3 weeks, and 2 weeks, with one time taking 2-3 weeks before i got a call back promised i was promised and had to call you guys repeatly, to be told i'd get a call back after you did not do it, just to be told i'd get a box, because the guy on HP assistence wouldnt do it because he found me to be a moron or something and did not believe i had gotten the wrong/broken laptop parts. With the 1-day shipping usally taking 4-6 days each way, and driving over 250miles total for the trips to get to the closes fedex dropoff, because i want to get this resolved that much quicker.

I just want to get this resolved, the time has been extremely unreasonable, The customer service and my case manager has given me the run around repeatly, 
Like friday, the one time i actually talked to her, She told me to call the number witht he laptop, and after calling them and getting forwarded and then getting sent around for about 1-2 hours and 4+ transfers, I get told to call my case manager who sent me on this waste of time run-around to not get called back for 5 days, leaving repeated messages, One awesome case manager there i had to get to get in contact with her in person when she got to work today.
I've had my HP care package, 3/6 months, since you guys had it the other 3 months, and it never ONCE got fixed, I've wasted days at home, On the phone, Waiting for broken laptop deliveries, and driving to fedex dropoffs,
Once i get the new laptop, You guys are gonna make me buy another if i want it to be able to get fixed, yet not even having mine or a fixed laptop this time.
I JUST WANT A WORKING LAPTOP.
Can I just get the 
HP ENVY dv7-7212nr Notebook PC sent sent, its close enough to my laptop, its the only ready to ship with the same screen as mine and most everything else.
My case manager said that'd be a downgrade because it's not a custom unit, I DO NOT WANT TO WAIT ANOTHER MONTH FOR IT TO GET BUILT AND SENT TO ME!
If this is not resolved fairly quickly, You are without question losing a customer for the rest of his long life, and his families business as well, and my friends, and i will not go quitely either with facebook, twitter and other social media, for  a very long time.
I am displeased, dissatisfied, insulted, Wasted days, wasted time, wasted gas, wasted battery charge on my phone, wasted phone minutes on my cell phone since i have pre-paid, wasted money on warrenty that'll go away, wasted money on your product for this kind of service.
I've had to buy another laptop during this time because i need a laptop to do my daily life things, If i knew it was going to be this much of a insult and failure, I'd of just bought a real laptop replacement of the same/better specs for twice instead of half of the cost of it. You have made my work take over twice as long, and more money of mine wasted.
Please contact me ASAP.

I got a call today but from monica, same for emails.
She told me to pick one of her two offers or i'll be waiting a week to hear the next one.
Offers me a upgraded laptop but without the one thing i needed, then downgrades everything and offers me one with a downgraded one of what i asked, and tells me i have to pick or wait a week, for another similar offer.
I'm already going to have to pay 150$+ for a new warrenty even though my previous one i only had 3 months and she wont adknowdge my question about that when i asked. My laptop was NEVER FIXED even once! Only broken more each time it was sent back to me after 3 months, Only having it the times it took you forever to adknowledge or contact me after being a week late a few times to just send me a box to send it back and spending 40$+ in gas to go to the fedex place, and Days wasted at home putting my stuff i needed to do out and about on hold if i wanted my laptop, Hours on the phone, and messing up my last 3 months for things i've needed to do with it, taking much longer on a inferior laptop that i've had to borrow. 
As a company, I hope your normal practice is not to delay, not call back, lie to, waste costumers time and money, take unreasonably long times to get something done, and try to strong arm someone because they need a laptop ASAP and most wont take the time to deal with it and accept what ever crappy offer is delt them to get it back in a quickly and timely manner.
97+ days and counting now.
Most days I did not get a call back even when promised, was given the run around that took 2+ hours and 7 transfers, just to be told to call her back from monica the first time she called me.
One week just to get 2 offers back from monica about a laptop replacement, with at least 6 calls  over 4 days to even get in contact with her the first time.
Is my money(gas,having to get someone to take care of stuff for me since i was having to wait to sign for a package each time to get it back broken or wrong),
time  not doing things i needed to do,
EXTREME inconvenience (Having to message you guys here, on facebook and other places, finding your information, Looking up information about what i can do, how close you guys are coming to fruad  or other things, and who to buy for future products instead of you and how to spread the word if this isnt fixed for 3 months now)
Trying to be strongarmed into making a choice that is in no way acceptable, offering me a much better laptop but taking that way because i needed 1 thing changed, after ALL OF THIS TROUBLE! and being told i'd have to wait a week if i dont choose today after already waiting all this time, and being impossible to contact her for 4 days befor she would call me back after sending me on a wild goose chase(Check her log for the messages i've had other case managers leave and then one nice guy at HP who was a case manager, went above and beyond his job and contacted her in person the next morning when she got in to get her to actually call me, If i can i'd like to give reps+ or whatever i can to that employee, He was the one on monday  i think that left a message for her on her pc as well i believe, would be the only male that i contacted i think at that time), and being told no one else can help me whenever i call but my case manager that ignores me most of the time and talks to me like i'm no one, just someone bothering her.
What kind of service is this?

    Hi,
    I have a hp 4500. It was working fine on our ATT wireless network, then became random if it would print or not. It will print (usually) for other two computers on network, but stopped on my Asus. Have been having difficulty connecting for last few weeks, have to turn on and off printer (waiting about 5 minutes between shutting off then back on). Sometimes it would work, sometimes not. Now it says the driver is not installed, so uninstalled driver and reinstalled. Now it says it is not installed. Have tried multiple times. Any suggestions? My laptop is connected to web fine through wireless connection (obviously, right?) but can't figure out connection issues.

    I'd like to help.  Can you answer some questions?
    Can you print a printer status report and give me the Product # for your printer?  To do this, press the "wrench"  or setup button, press the right arrow until you see Reports, press OK, press right arrow until you see Status Report or Self Test Report, and then press OK.  The report should print.
    Are you using a disk or download from hp.com for the install?
    Is the printer connected wirelessly or by Ethernet cable to the wireless network?

  • Why does my IPOD synch with my laptop and not my desktop?

    I have tried since Christmas Day to get my Daughter's IPOD to synch with my desktop, with no success. I took it to the local Apple Store and they said they restored it and it should work fine. When I tried to connected it again, it still did not work. I put in a new USB 2.0 PCI card, and still had no success. I decided at that point to try and synch it with my laptop which worked. It only has 1.1 USB ports; Both machines are running XP SP2; I can see no other reasons why it shouldn't synch with the desktop. Can any suggest a hint or a fix. My Daughter is starting to lose her patience, that I can't have!!!!!!

    How much free space is available on your iPod? Head to Settings -> General -> About.  How much is listed under Available?
    Have you tried restoring your iPod from a previous backup in iTunes?  If so, what about factory defaults new iPod?

  • Printer cannot connect with the Laptop - IP address are the same which is the issue

    I have a HP Photosmart All in One printer that is connected to a desktop wirelessly and it works effectively on the desktop.  I had it connected to a laptop as well. It stopped working one day with the laptop and has not worked since. It continues to work with the  desktop. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the installation on the laptop, still does not work.  When I go to connect the laptop to the network and put in the IP address it says "The IP address entered is currently being used by this computer. Please confirm that your printer actually has this IP address or enter the correct address below and click search"  I have checked, double checked and tripled checked and it is the IP address that I got from the printer.  Same issue comes up with using the Host name.   Can anyone provide me with a solution? Thank you!!

    Hi, Please give printer a FIX IP address, say from 200 to 254 and it will stay. Your other devices (phones, tablets ... ) including computers can use other addresses from 2 to 199 or from 1 to 199. Regards.

    There could be a 32 bit vs 64 bit issues-is the old machine a 32 bit? and what is the new machine as far as 32/64 bit. I am not sure now if CS5 has in the help menu of the PS app the selection to update within PS if so that might work. I know that the Creative cloud app for installs updates  etc has caused me much consternation  over the last couple few years. Last it could be something like your Software firewall settings or  anti-virus anti malware programs. I know that updating the infamous adobe flash that Internet Explorer pop ups setting and having AV turned on as opposed to off can interfere or plain break the update ability

    I purchased a HP Care package to include in home repair in 3 days, and after talking to 5 different people at HP they are saying that the in home portions of the warranty is "not really" in home and I have to send the laptop in.
    This is FRAUD and a complete lie to me... be warned, IN HOME means the send you a box for you to package it up and send it in to them.
    What a waste of money and time... next time (this is my 3rd laptop) I will be sure to take my business to someone else, and some place that Meg Whitman does not run.

     I bought a 3 year Premium, "Front of the Queue, North America based Technical Support, 3 day in home technical support, lojack, etc part # U0H98A.  When I called the HP Home and Home Office store they stated that this was the best warranty because it gave me "Front of the Queue, North America based Technical Support.  I looked it up on the web and this is the first item mentioned under "Features."  I had a problem with my laptop and tried getting the Front of the Queue, North America based Technical Support.  I spent a day and a half calling HP phone numbers and being transferred so many times and everyone said the same thing.  That there is only the one number for technical support that is routed all over the world.  When I spoke to a technician about the Blue Screen of Death I was having that stated that "The BIOS is not ACPI Compliant" and would not  boot past this screen, I learned that I had to ship my laptop to HP because the Motherboard had failed and they do not do this at your home as they don't have anyone trained to make this repair at your home. So, I don't know how long that I will be without my laptop.  I work for an organization of 65,000 employees in IT for 22 + years.  I can tell you that other manufacturers replace the motherboard at your home or job site.
    I have since spoke to a Case Manager who stated that there is not a number for North America based Technical Support.  I told him I believe that this is fraudulent advertising and requested a refund of the laptop and warranty.  He refused to refund my laptop but told me to call another number to see about the warranty since it has been less than 21 days since I bought it.  I told him that this was an unnacceptable resolution.

    Hi ! I m a qualified Physician (DOCTOR ) of Delhi , India and Symbian user since Nokia 6600 ( 2004 )
    My progress is like 6600 --- N70-----N73----N95----N97---- NOKIA N8.
    I got my Nokia N8 on 14th Oct 2010.
    As Usual I started doing R&D on this since I m a tech Enthusiast.
    Over the last 50 days I have experienced lots and lots of N8 and hence posting my experience.
    I would divide it into hardware and software review.
    Nokia N8 is a HARDWARE gem from Nokia
    Good Processor, adequate RAM , USB OTG, good screen, good protected Aluminium case, Good Design.
    That’s where List ends.
    Software Problems-----
    Lot and Lot of problems.
    1.      Hangs inevitably in a day or 2.
    2.      Screen goes blank when incoming call is there so I have to use side button (rocker switch ) repeatedly to get back the screen and caller information.
    3.      Does not connects to my home wifi network after continuous usage for 30 min. than I have to make N8 offline than again search and it some times catches it , otherwise I have to switch off my mobile (not the Linksys Router since my laptop continues to work normally connected to router)
    4.      Music will not download from Ovi Music store , file will start downloading and after showing 2 % or 5% it will hang.
    5.      Multitasking  as advertised a lot is not smooth. RAM will show approx. 60 mb with 2 or 3 tasks open and it will hang after that.
    6.      RAM is not freed even after task is closed . it goes down with app but does not return to previous capacity after that task is closed.
    7.      Caller ID will not work some time ---- so I will not get callers name even if it is stored as single entry.
    8.      Since my SIM is provided to me as CUG no (CLOSED USER GROUP) sometimes N8 will not allow me to make a call. After lot of hassles in last 50 days , I somehow tricked this by setting phone and security options to CLOSED USER GROUP to OFF in  menu and than switching it back to default after some time. I posted this question even in nokia forum but even there I did not received the solution.
    9.      Battery will drain in a days time with normal usage , what is expected of a smartphone. Checking mail 2 times on wifi and talking for 30 to 40 minutes.
    10.   Except for the camera, which I don’t use much , I do not see any great things in N8 to fall in love.
    This is a TRUE  review , since I m a great NOKIA fan and not happy with Nokia , first with N97 and than N8.
    i have taken some SOME VIDEOS about Hanging N8, will soon post it here since they r in HD and very heavy
    Does Nokia Have answers to these , or solutions in next firmware .

    I have been using N8 for about the same time - 60 days and am coming from similar path of N97, N95-8G, N95 and so forth before that from ~Y2000. I do netbrowsing, maps, email, weather and other apps several times per day, also while roaming. I dont do calls and SMS that much. I can relate to number of issues highlighted in this post, however with different view.
    As with any hi-tech gadget its likely that we see bugs and design annoyances at initial launch. The amount of trouble I have with N8 is for my (happy) case quite small compared to what I was actually expecting.
     - Yes it has hanged few times where the scenario is hard to repeat/define
     - Screen blank with incoming call - has happened number of time and I think its a software problem where some of the phone sw misunderstands its screen/blank state. When it happens its "always" the case for incoming calls for me, no matter if Im close to prox sensor or not, until I reboot the phone and then it is fixed. Most likely some application, battery saving state or the way of killing apps from start tab rather than gracefully exting them causes this I think.
     - There are some scenarios where my phone works vice versa with screen - keeps it always on, even with battery low, etc - I think thats when the software misunderstands it the other way. Also I get sometimes continuous "wlan connection failed" without any apps running/startup widegets all beeing offline (and wlan available in proximity). Id suspect that some application "parts" are left to run while theres no visible component to show in task manager... Might well relate to screen behaviour and battery drain...
     - Unable to match caller ID to names in phonebook has similar pattern - it behaves like that until I reboot the phone. At the N95/8G period similar problem manifested itself when there were other problems visible related to low memory. I would suspect something like that here as well.
    For me the most of the concern is the case design and build quality of N8. My previous phones have been subject to number of falls and bad weather conditions... I went for a 20 min swim with N95 in my pocket, dried it for 2 days and it worked again. N958G was submerged in mud for 2hrs and again worked after throughout cleaning (have to admit that buttons and rest of the electronics started to fail due to corrosion after few weeks). I slammed N97 between my car trunk, it bent a bit but no screen cracks, antennas all seem to be connected well and works allright. N8 feels fraigile with all its small sockets for various plugs and its concept of screwing the case together probably cant take as heavy beating as the plastic covers which acted as pdding for the internals of previous phones. Im afraid to drop the N8 in snow, mud, pool or down few floors of stairs...   Anyways, I guess something will happen sooner or later and I will see then.
    Coming back to the software issues - I foresee these will be gradually fixed as the new firmware and app updates come out. The sooner the better - people will be happier about their phones which behave better and they will act as ambassadors for Nokia

  • Should I get a 13" or 15" Macbook Pro with retina laptop?

    I, FINALLY, after one year of wanting to get a new laptop to use as my primary computer replacing my desktop computer at home.........have decided to switch gears from a Windows computer to a MACBOOK PRO with RETINA laptop. It's not an easy decision when you are spending SO much money on something you hope will last a long time as I do NOT plan on getting a new laptop once I buy this one for a very long time (until it breaks / can no longer function)!
    My dilemma now is whether to go with the high end 13" Macbook Pro OR get a similar if not higher end 15" Macbook Pro. Here's background on myself and what I plan on using the laptop for:
    I plan on using it as my new primary computer for home so primarily for my personal use, but I will be using it also for work so I will be using it for basically EVERYTHING!
    I will use it to do word processing (MS Word), to do my finances (reconcile my bank stmts/accounts), using MS Excel for accounting work, check my emails, research the Internet, photo editing (pretty much basic, definitely not advanced) and creating slideshows with my photos/music, downloading/playing music. I do not plan on using it to play any games.
    I use alot of MS Office / Excel and some Powerpoint - either for work or home.
    I need alot of storage space for photos (recreational - up to 400 per vacation trip) and I plan on creating slideshows with the photos using Apple's great photo/video/slideshow apps! At last count, I had about 100GB of photo files.
    I also need alot of storage for my music files - I have @ least 12GB of music right now and am always downloading more each year.
    I plan on taking it with me outside of home only on the weekends for the most part like to a cafe (Starbucks) or library, but not for anything further than that (not for travel as I will just take my ipad).
    I know it's only ~1lb difference in weight, but a couple of my concerns is since it will be my primary home computer (i.e.I'll be using it in the evenings/on the weekends and probably more (since it's an Apple!) to work on photos/slideshows, if the screen size difference will matter in the longrun in terms of having any impact on my vision (not sure if the 2" will make a difference in that). I'm only 45yo, but I do worry about that!  I tried both the 13" and 15" in the Apple store and the only difference I saw was that the 15" screen allowed you to have multiple programs visible on the screen side by side, but viewing the actual programs was the same (in size). I don't really view programs side by side right now (I use the ALT-TAB shortcut alot to view multiple programs I have open at once), but I could see how having programs viewable side by side could come in handy.
    I had a Toshiba 17" laptop before that was too HEAVY to lug around even if on the weekend so I no longer want a heavy laptop and want something more portable to take with me on my weekend excursions to the local cafe/library which basically means going from home to car and car to location at most, but when I go to use the restroom, I like to take it with me (do not feel safe leaving it behind on table) so I don't want it too heavy.
    I do plan on getting me a Western Digital external hard drive to backup ALL my files yet since I plan on keeping the computer for as long as it'll hold up, I want to make sure I have alot of storage to keep up with me. I like the flashdrive component because there are fewer moving parts so less likely to have problems in the long run and given that (despite my need for alot of storage), I'll backup my photos/music to external drives should I end up maxing out on my storage.
    I value your opinions, please help me DECIDE!!!!! I'm frustrated and it's driving me nuts!!! I know it's too much to ask, but if they had a 14", I would probably go with it!  A 2" difference seems pretty big. :-)

    Thanks guys. I'm set on the 15" now and am now deciding on whether I should go with the standard MBP or the MBP with retina display? I'm not an advanced photographer, but I do like to take alot of photos especially when travelling and I do plan on creating slideshows with my photos synched with music. I don't think I'd be one to really be able to tell the difference between a retina vs. non-retina screen given that since I can't really tell the difference between a tv screen with vs. without HD. So for me, I don't think it'd be about the retina display at all. It is more about the storage capacity AND the fact that I hear with the retina/flash storage, that there are less apt to have problems down the road so a more sturdy a machine.  Given I take alot of photos/will be creating slideshows wth my photos, and downloading/playing music, I'm thinking the standard MBP might be better storage-wise. But also given I plan on keeping this laptop for a long time (basically, until it breaks or becomes too slow to function productively), that makes me want to go the retina/flash storage route. SIGH.
    Should I not be so concerned about the longevity of the machine, but rather opt for the one with more storage?

    Hello.  I have a Toshiba Satellite L355d-s7815. It was bought in September. I go to school fulltime online so this computer has been used almost every single day since it's been purchased. And up until two weeks ago it worked just fine.
    Now, it turns itself off.  I could be in the middle of an exam, and it will just click and turn off. No warning signs, no popups. No messages from virus protection.  
    Then when I try to turn it back on, it will just click and turn off a few times. I usually let it sit for a few minutes, then try it. Then the message saying it couldn't start comes on and after searching for 10 minutes tells me to restore it. I click yes, because it won't let me choose anything else. And then when it finally gets done, my Kaspersky is going all crazy telling me my 'black files are corrupted'. and makes me update and then it says I'm fine. 
    It does this to me on different occasions.  While on the internet. While burning a dvd. And EVERYTIME I do something that requires a restart of my computer. That is how it started. It began about two months ago, but only when a program tried to automatically restart. But in the last week it does it whenever it feels like it.  I need this computer for school so I need all the help I can get into getting this computer back on track. 
     Also, this is my first laptop.  So I don't know what all I could be doing wrong!

    I assume you have nothing plugged into any of the port (usb/etc) and played in CD drive.
    When you read this DO THESE FOLLOWING TASKS IMMEDIATELY
    >> Backup your files... all of them (or anything that worth saving - including saved games etc)
    >> Check if the laptop fan is working or not clogged with dust etc. Some computer just die when its too hot. 
    >> Prepare/burn toshiba restore CD
    >> Optional: Try to work in air conditioned room / with laptop slightly raised from the table surface for better air circulation and see if it work better. 
    There are two major possibilities that I could think of
    1. hardware screwup
    2. software screwup
    It is harder to test for #1, so I will suggest on eliminating #2
    1. Go to Windows Systems Restore, try to restore your computer to the day before you suspect there is something wrong with your laptop
    2. Reformat the computer... as painful as it might sound, there are high chance that people at Toshiba depot do this the minute they receive your laptop (ps: Did I mention backup your files)
    If 1 or 2 do not solve your problem, there is a pretty high likelihood that your problem involves hardware malfunction. Call their support center on how to initiate warranty claim.
    ps: you might considering buying a netbook when your laptop is repaired.

    How is this possible? I then phoned the shop and told them my problem. When I gave them the details I also found out that the imei No. in the iPhone is the same as on the original box.     You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
    and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..
