HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 Under Warranty and Support won't help

Hello,
I have my pavilion laptop suddenly have power outages.  Verified that the product is under warranty and submitted a case.  The helpful support responded.  Closed my case.  Then proceeded to tell me that I had to go to another site to submit.  The link led me to exactly where they just closed the case and I could see my case I just opened marked as closed.  Thanks for the help.  In an email, this very helpful support person told me to navigate to chat and their directions didn't lead me to any chat.  So I'm left with a product under warranty that HP has cleverly hidden all means of support and actually fulfilling the warranty.

Problem description: Getting multiple eventid 41 associated with sudden shutdown of computer ("The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."). I initially thought it was disk crash so replaced the hard drives and problem continues. I checked the power supply cord which was facing a recall and that appeared fine (not covered by the recall). Seems this is under warranty and this is freezing me up from doing work.

Troubleshooting steps.
Ran disk check, even after doing putting in new hard drive. No issues. Ran memory check. No issues. So memory and disk appear fine. Could be PSU based upon error code supplied. Odd w/ laptop. Forums suggested possible motherboard issue.

    It can only be serviced in the country where it was originally sold.  Take it back to the US or send it to someone you know there to take it in for service.

    Hello,
    Any help would be appreciated.
    I have an HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC.  Because of a new job I need to update my processor from the current 2.30 GHz (see exact specs below, please) to at least 3.0 GHz.
    Is there a 3.0GHz processor out there that is compatible with this particular computer? I've called technical support and was told they don't know. I really don't know who else to ask.
    This computer was just purchased a few months ago (before I got the new job). I would really like to avoid purchasing a new computer, if at all possible, if I can upgrade the processor in this one.
    Here are the specs of the current processor:
    Intel Core i7 3610QM
    Code Name    Ivy Bridge
    Package    Socket 988B rPGA
    Technology    22nm

    Well, there appears to be just one (that I've found) 3.0 GHz processor that Intel makes for my chipset  (HM77 Express Chipset) and it's the i7-3940XM Extreme edition (http://ark.intel.com/products/71096/)
    At a retail price of $1,000+ it looks like I'm going shopping for a new computer. 
    Not sure if anyone from HP read the peer forums, however, I will not be purchasing another HP product.
    This machine has had issues outside of me needing to upgrade the processor for my own personal reasons. Your support is grossly lacking in all areas Your techscannot even pull up the model number with the serial number.
    Customers should not have to go out on the Internet to research questions like this.

    Both modules can be used. DDR3L means that the memory uses low voltage. Means the modules produce less heat and last longer than pure DDR3 ones. I still use pure DDR3 Corsair 1600MHz CL9 modules.

    If posible you will find visiting a store by far the simplest way of getting a solution

    Have you checked the lightning socket on iPhone doesn't have lint or fluff in it

    Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

    A broken screen is not covered by waranty.  However, sometimes if you make anappointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store they will exchange it for no cost.  Otherwise you will have to pay $99, $149 or $199 depending upon the capacity.

    I had the same problem and took my iPhone 5 into the Apple store.  What happened was a little embarrassing.  The genius took out a "special tool" (a paper clip) and began digging out an unimaginable amount of lint from the lightning connector port.  After that I was able to connect the cord and charge without any issues. 
    A few days after, I realized that my problems associated with the remote/mic not working on my ear pods might be due to the same issue.  (The volume and action buttons on the ear pods sometimes were not responsive)  I grabbed a paper clip and began digging.  Again, a large wad of lint came out of the headphone port and my ear pods have worked perfectly since.

    It appears you've been backed into a corner and I sympathize with your situation.
    The fact is, support for BlackBerry products is very good.  BlackBerry contracts the people who provide you with your cell service on a monthly basis.  They know best what plan you're on and what services your phone is using.  If anything goes wrong, they're there for you 24/7.
    Now to your situation.  You received the phone from a friend and therefore didn't purchase it outright from a carrier or even from BlackBerry.  This creates a difficult situation because as a rule, carriers only support devices purchased from them.
    My suggestion is to call Rogers back and ask to speak to someone higher up, such as a manager.  Carriers usually don't support phones that haven't been purchased from them but your phone wasn't purchased at all, it was a gift.  The fact that you're a monthly customer with Rogers should hold some weight with them.  As I mentioned, I would go right to a supervisor or manager because the tech answering the phone will just stick with the "you didn't purchase it from us, so sorry" script.

    Sorry but as mentioned it will be replaced with the exact model, colour and capacity as you have at present. That is if Apple find the repairs required fall within the terms of warranty.

  • I replaced my iPhone screen myself and now my phone is over heating. i have no idea if its under warranty and if so will apple do anything even though i took it apart?

    So my iPhone screen cracked and i ordered a new screen to replace it. Finally when i finished i went to turn it on and the screen just stayed blank. I plugged it in and the apple symbol came up but then went off, and kept doing this. so i let it set for about an hour and tried again. it gave the charging symbol and just stayed on this for about half an hour. i unplugged it and when i did it just went off. after a while it did come back on but it began to overheat and the battery lasts about 45 minutes. i took the back off and its the logic board that is hot and not the battery. can this be fixed? i dont know if its under warranty but if it is will they replace it after the fact that i took it apart?

  • DV7T-7000 Bios ACHI and graphics

    I am unable to change the Bios from IDE mode to ACHI. Attached is Samsungs SSD Magician indicating ACHI is not enabled in the system bios. I have manually enabled it in windows however. This feature should be available as should being able to adjust dedicate memory manually to the discrete graphics. Will there be a bios update anytime soon to address these issues?
    Does this bios update apply to the Gen 3 systems?

    What is the product number for your laptop?
    The HP DV7t-7000, product number A5F92AV, quad version, that I have was shipped RAID ready. 
    The Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) control panel should confirm whether your PC is stuck in IDE mode. Additionally, look in Device Manager under Storage Controllers and confirm if the Intel Mobile express chipset SATA RAID controller in present.
    Perhaps the MSATA function in your PC is causing an issue.  I don't have the MSATA in my laptop. 
    Did you install the latest Intel (IRST) driver?
