HP Photosmart 7510 ePrinting Issues

My company uses an HP Photosmart 7510 to print off important documents received from customers and other branches through the ePrinting services. Our ePrinting services are receiving the emails with the attached documents but the printer is not printing anything, email text or documents. Currently, the printer only has a black ink cartridge, and the the other cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow, and photo) are out of ink. So is the source of my problem resulting from the printer not having the color ink cartridges or is the source of the problem with HP's ePrinting services?
Thanks,
Kenny

Hi,
You can logon to your ePrint account to check. Most likely due to no inks. Replace color ink cartridges will help.
FYI: I ran few tests over the weekend on my loan 7510 (with one empty color cartridge) it refused to print at the beginning but it printed a document after that.
Regards.

  • Issue setting up eFax on HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One "Problem connecting to internet"

I'm having an issue setting up eFax on my new HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One. I am following the on-screen instructions and receive an error "Problem connecting to internet" when trying to register the account. The ePrint service is working, and I can use the facebook app on the printer so it seems to be connecting to the internet. I am uncertain how to resolve the issue.

Let's set a static IP address and external DNS for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Why does the eprint service on my HP Photosmart 7510 get disabled when it is powered off?

I bought this printer in January this year and I've had issue with the ePrint service not staying enabled when the printer turned off. Because of this I'm expereincing the following issues.
    1. Efax is not working correctly. I can send faxes, but I cant recieve them. Also whenever I press fax on the printer it asks me to enable ePrint.
    2. I can't print from my phone and other remote location.
    3. The printer sometimes shuts down on its own and never finishes the shut down process.
    4. When I check efax.com I can see the faxes we've recieved, but I can't see that any faxes have been sent.
    5. I can see that faxes that were sent on the printer, but I can't see that anything has been recieved.
The printer is working great as a normal printer, but I kind of what to use all the ePrint services.

  • HP PhotoSmart 7510 suddenly has severe connectivity issues

I have a HP PhotoSmart 7510 printer since about 2 months. Initial setup worked like a charm and the printer has been working pretty much perfectly for the last 2 months. Wireless printing, scanning and internet access on the printer (e.g. for Facebook photos) all worked. Just from time to time i would get the occasional (mildly annoying) message on my computer saying "scan to computer is currently unavailable" but it usually worked itself out and whenever I needed it to work, it did work.
But since a few days ago, it has some severe connectivity issues. I didn't change any settings on the printer, router or computer - the issues just started appearing by themselves. I startet getting much more frequent messages on my computer saying "scan to computer is currently unavailable". I noticed I couldn't print anymore, and restarting computer, printer and/or router didn't help at all. The only thing so far i managed to print wirelessly since the problems started were the first 5 pixel rows of an image I tried to print, the rest didn't transmit.
It seems the printer still connects to the WLAN but printing and scanning no longer work, and whenever I try to access a web service on the printer (like Facebook) it says it has no internet connection, even though the WLAN light is lit up (not blinking) and all the wireless status reports say "congratulations, no problems found" and display IPs etc. just like normal.
I looked at the threads "PhotoSmart 7510 connects to router, but not to the web.", "Wireless printer (HP Photosmart 7510) not connecting to network" and "Photosmart 7510 won't connect to Web Services" but they weren't a big help. Activating EWS didn't work because even though the printer showed its IP address to be 192.168.1.3, when I entered this in my web browser it didn't find the printers configuration page.
I tried the following steps from one of the threads:
    1. Restore the Network defaults
    2. Unplug the printers power cord while it is still on. Leave it unplugged and walk to the router.
    3. While the router is still on, unplug the power cord from the router, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the router. Once plugged back in the router should power on automatically.
    4. Plug the power cord back into the printer. Once plugged back in the printer should power on automatically.
    5. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard to reconnect the printer to your wireless network.
    6. Try enabling Web Services.
I followed these steps exactly. Interestingly, even though I had done step 1 and restored the network settings to factory defaults, after turning back on, the printer somehow still had its old settings saved and reconnected to the network.
It seemed to have fixed the problem, the printer finally had internet access again (Facebook app showed my photos) and scan to computer found my PC. But after just about 3 minutes, the printer had lost its internet connectivity again. When opening the Facebook app, it displayed the same error message it did before. And printing no longer worked as well.
So, what is wrong with this printer?! It has the newest software update by the way (I checked during the 3 minutes it had internet access.) My computer is a HP Windows 7 x64 machine (EliteBook 6930p) and the router I'm using is a Netgear WNDR3700.
I specifically bought this printer for my studies at university. In one week i have my exams and in order to study I REALLY need to be able to print some of my course materials! So any help as quickly as possible would be greatly appreciated. Or do you think this is a case for a warranty replacement, considering the printer's really strange and error-prone behavior?
    Thanks a lot!

I can assure you that it is not a router issue.  It appears to me that it is a driver compatibility with Windows OS.  After trying to get to the bottom of this since my Photosmart 7525 was new and reading just about every forum and blog, I have come to the conclusion that the issue must be related to the HP driver itself.
The issue does not seem to affect any Mac systems, and from one forum someone was able to fix it by downloading new drivers compatible with 64-bit systems (which seem to not be affected by the glitch).  But that leaves us 32-bit people stuck with the current driver which does not work.
The printer is connected with good signal to the wireless router (no matter who's router it is and what configuration is made).  The printer can be pinged from the router and any computer on the network which is not currently being affected by this issue.  However, the affected computer fails pings by either request timed out, or destination host unreachable.  Pings are successful from the affected computer to any other device on the network.  The only way to recover (at least for a few days) is to reboot the affected computer.
Also, from the display on the 7525, the network tests pass without issue.  I can also download and print content from the internet with no issues.
Please do a quick google search of this issue and you will see several THOUSAND entries of people with the same request.  This is a serious issue that people are having and everything is pointing to an HP problem (not routers, improper installation of software or drivers, etc...).  I agree with several other customers that HP should be on the hook for this fix.  I will give it another couple weeks, then back to the store for a reliable unit from another competitor (Canon, Lexmark, etc..)
Thank you in advance for escalating this issue to product engineering,

  • How to enter printer code into new eprint acount. first acount was deleted. (photosmart 7510)

I eneterd my printer code into my eprint account, then mistakenly deleted the account. I set up a new account, but now I can't add the printer. I get the message "invalid code". The printer is a photosmart 7510.

You may need to disable and then enable Web Services from your printer to get a new printer code and then register that code.

  • Photosmart 7510 will not scan. Printing, faxing, Eprint all work, but no software for scanning

I have spent over 10hrs on the phone with Tech Support, Cloud service, and an HP escalation manager.  The HP escalation manager ran a scrubber tool to completely remove all of the HP printer software and reinstalled.  Now everything works except for Scan.
Using the HP Scan utility from the PC gives, "The HP Photosmart 7510 series was not found"
Using Scan to Computer for the printer display gives, "Make sure HP Printer software is installed".  I can, however, scan to a memory chip inserted into the computer, but is produces a jpg file and I need PDF.  All of  the scanning software used to work before tech support and HP escalation got involved.
    This question was solved.

If you have it connected to a network, it sounds like a firewall issue.
It could be a firewall you are running or a firewall that your ISP or router is running that you know nothing about.
    Info needed:
    router make and model
    ISP
    antivirus/firewall you are running

I am a Mac user having trouble printing from my computer to my HP photosmart 7510. The message is that I have a
"broken pipe". What is this?  What do I need to do to fix this?

    Hello Jacaranda,
Thanks for the post. Check the below thread for some good information on getting this resolved.  Good Luckand thanks to IronBadger!
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/the-meaning-broken-pipe/td-p/897133
Basically the OS is telling you that it has lost the ability to write data to the printer.  This would typically be caused by some sort of corruption in the CUPS printing system.
The first thing I would try is Restting the print system and re-adding the printer.
To do this open System Preferences and then Open Print & Fax.  Then <control> click or right click on the blank space around the list of printers on the left hand side.  You should see a pop up menu and the option to Reset print system.
Once you select that the OS will restore the CUPS printing system to all the original default settings.  Thsi will of course erase all of your print queues.
Once that is done I would reboot the Macintosh and the printer.  Then go back to System Preferences--> Print & Fax and then re-add the printer.
I worked for HP but my posts and replies are my own....Thank you!

  • Photosmart 7510 web services and efax no internet access

I finally got around to setting up my printer to work wirelessly.  Everything seems to be working ok on the home network.  I was also able to use the ePrint app on my iPad to print.  But...when I select a web service or try to register for efax it tells me the printer does not have internet access.  I did a quick check on my printer to give the printer a static IP to reduce problems later. I didn't see any issues with connectivity but may not have known what to look for.  I'm not to concerned about the the web service apps but do want to get the efax working.  According to the network configuration page I printed, the printer is connected, infrastructure mode, has an IP, and I'm not using MAC filtering.  So any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello @BM84 ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you are getting an error message from your Photosmart 7510.
    I would like to help.
For the web services portion, you could try setting a manual DNS.
I find Googles DNS works well with the printers.

  • Efax not working on HP Photosmart 7510

I have an HP Photosmart 7510. I have always been able to use efax on it until recently. When I attempt to connect to efax, it asks me to log-in or register. When I try to log in, it says "Unable to log in. Touch Try Again to attempt to login again now, or touch Cancel and try again later." If I try to register with a brand new e-mail address, it says "Registration was unsuccessful. Check that you are connected to the internet, then try again." I can log into efax on their website, but not with my HP Photosmart 7510.  I am able to use eprint services. I have sent something to my printer with eprint and it worked successfully. Eprint services and web services are both turned on. I have toggled on/off on both of them.  My printer is connected to a wireless network. My computer and my iPhone are both able to access the internet so I don't believe its an issue with my wifi.  I have turned the printer off and then turned the router off and then back on.   I printed a Wireless Network Test Results Report. The report says "No problems found" and has pass on everything.  I have unplugged the printer several times and then rebooted. I changed the DNS Server addresses to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4  respectively.  There are only 2 apps left on my main menu. When I attempt to touch an app, it gives me an error message "Your printer is not connected to a network. Please connect to a network and try again."  I turned firewalls off on my computer (Acer 5737Z with Windows 7).  What can I do? I think I have tried everything. Thanks so much for your help.

  • HP Photosmart 7510 "Could not get printer information from HP" NOT SOLVED

OK.  So, I have searched all over the forums for a clear solution to this problem, and I have yet to see one that applies to my printer (HP Photosmart 7510).  I have regestered the printer, selected 'everyone' in the allowed senders area, and am still receiving the same error message when trying to connect Google Cloud Print.  Being able to print my google docs is EXTREMELY important... can anyone shed light on this?
If I have missed a post on my specific problem, I apologize for the double-posting.
    Thanks

    amp85,
The ePrint servers have been going through some heavy maintence here lately to upgrade the servers and it seems like it is causing issues with Google Cloud Print. I would keep trying and see if anything changes, it should resolve itself when the maintence has been completed. If you are still having issues after the next couple days, post back in here and let me know. Hopefully I'll have some more information about this issue by then if it has not yet been resolved.

  • Server Failed message on Photosmart 7510

What does "Server Failed" on the network diagnostics screen indicate?  All other "Network Status" items have a green light.  If I go through the Network Diagnostics, the end result is:  "This computer appears to have working Internet connection, but cannot find Photosmart 7510 series blah blah.  You may have typed the address incorrectly."  I've never typed an address anywhere, so I don't know what that means.
Pressing the little bluetooth symbol on the printer touch screen indicates that I am connected to the network.  Network name is right, all is good.  Then I try to use the efax function and it says I am not connected a network.
Also, If I try to scan something to my computer from the touchscreen, it shows the two options: computer or memory card.  I select "computer".  It takes me to a screen that says, "You can start a scan from your computer OR scan to your computer from the printer".  Yay!  So I say OK and then it takes me back to the screen with the two options.  Again, I select computer and again I get the happy message about being able to start a scan from either place, ad infinitum, endless loop of these two screens.
I have reinstalled the driver and I have done everything else I can think of.  Yes, I have even restarted.  Multiple times.  Computer, printer and router.  I have already spent more time on this than I have.  Putting this out there and hoping someone can help.  Thanks in advance!

    Hello @rodeoamy ,
    Welcome to the HP forum.
I understand that you are having a couple of issues with your Photosmart 7510. One with server connection and the other with scanning. I would like to help with these two problems.
The server connection message is about the web services feature on your printer.  This gives the printer internet access for things like ePrint and eFax.
I noticed that your already posted on eFax users - please read. That is a great start.
If the web services are getting a Server failed message, then try a manual DNS.

  • How do i set up an email address for an hp photosmart 7510/c311a.

it looks like an email address was an assigned during printer setup - or if it was, i can't find it. the printer is a photosmart 7510 / c311a. when i go to the eprint center to create an account, i get a forbidden -403 error message. any guidance would be much appreciated?

These steps typically resolve the issue:
    1. Press the ePrint button on the printer's front-panel screen (top row of icons, far left button), then press "Print Report".
    2. Head over to the ePrintCenter website (http://www.eprintcenter.com/), and log in (or sign up for a new account if you don't have one).
    3. Click the "+Add Printer" button and enter the printer code from the ePrint info page (“Print Report” page from step 1). Create a customized ePrint email address.
I just viewed the website on my computer, and it appears to be working okay on my end. It's possible that there's a setting in your web browser responsible for what you're seeing. I would recommend trying the following steps:
    1. Try to view the site in a different web browser to see if that's the issue. Normally, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all display the website properly. Try one or two of those (other than the one you've been using) and it should do the trick.
    2. If that doesn't work, try resetting Internet Explorer's default settings by clicking "Tools" (on the top menu bar), "Internet Options" (usually at the bottom of that list), "Advanced" (far-right tab), and "Reset" (towards the bottom-right of that box). After resetting the defaults, try viewing the ePrint Settings area again.
