HP Photosmart Prem, lost connection to my Mac, cannot reinstall

My printer stopped communicating with my Mac.  I ended up deleting it and trying to reinstall it.  But it won't install.  I tried adding a new printer via the IP address and get as far as trying to configure it but get this error message:
Setting up 'HP Photosmart Prem C410 (HP....)' An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer    client-error-not-possible.
HELP any body?

Hey there
I have some more ideas for you to try. Thanks for letting me know the results and also that the printer is working with your Windows PC, that helps quite a bit.
Download this printer update: HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X
Try this again: Repair disk permissions
Try power cycling the network devices:
Turn off the printer and computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (do not press any buttons on the router).
Plug the router back in and wait another minute, next turn on the printer and computer.
Re-add the printer and try using the Bonjour protocol, this post from @Sunshyn2005 has the proper screen shot to help you: Re: imac drops off once I connect iPad
That should work some magic and do the trick. Please let me know the outcome
Happy Tuesday!

  • Adobe Flash lost connection @ 30%. Mac install fails.

I am seeing this all over the forums with no one finding a solution. I have tried everything suggested either in Safari or Firefox including a clean install 3 times!! Even after uninstalling and deleting the flash files in the library, when I go to try downloading and installing it immediately starts at 30% and then I get the error message "Lost connection. Trying to connect...." then it hangs for a bit and then I get "Connection failed. Unable to complete installation." I go to their support link when the install fails but the link that they suggest to download from directly in the final step is "NOT FOUND". See here: Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac
This same link is showing up in several forums for a solution. I don't know what else to do. I'm posting this to add to the many many others with the same issue in hopes that Adobe will fix this! I am on a MAC OS 10.9.5. Never had this issue before with the flash updates!!!

Solution found on another thread. Download the offline installer here: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player_osx. dmg
I downloaded and was able to install Flash properly. Make sure you do a clean install just to be sure.

  • Photosmart 3210 wireless connection problems to Mac OS 10.7.5 on MacBookPro via Asus RT-N56 router

My 3210 is connected via ethernet to an ASUS RT-N56 router (new last year). My macbook pro connects via wireless. Also connected via ethernet are two windows PC's. Other family laptops connect via wireless.
All machines can ping the printer successfully, the network sees the printer OK
Everything was working OK for several years (with another laptop before I got the Macbook over 2 years ago) until recently, I think when the Mac OS upgraded to 10.7.5.
Now I have problems printing from the MacBook. When I first power up the macbook & the printer, usually all is OK for a short while, it prints OK. But then  I get error message "the printer is not connected". At the same time as this message is showing on the Macbook, I can ping the printer OK from all machines, including the Macbook and print OK from either PC, but as far as the Macbook is concerned the printer is not connected.
Sometimes after a considerable delay, the printer seems to re-connect to the Mac for no apparent reason. Normally the only way I can restore printing is to delete the print queue, then power down the printer, and the router, wait 5 mins and re-start everything.  It generally works for a few print jobs before the problem reappears.
I have tried deleting and reinstalling the printer. I've replaced the cable between the printer and the router.

I would recommend that you download the driver through Apple Software Update.
Before we do that, we want to uninstall any incompatible software you may have installed on your computer by running the HP Uninstaller located under Applications > HP or the Hewlett-Packard folder.
After you do that, we will want to download the drivers. The drivers for your product are available through Apple Software Update.
Before you do anything, temporarily unplug the printer's USB cord from either the printer or the computer. Next, check for any available HP Update's by clicking the Apple icon and then Software Update.
If no updates could be retrieved, download the full HP Printer Drivers v.2.14 from Apple:
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/DL907/en_US/HPPrinterDrivers2.14.dmg
Once you have completed the installation you will want to plug your printer back in. After the printer is plugged back in, go into your print settings under System Preferences > Print & Scan. To add the printer, click the plus sign. You should see your printer listed here. Select it. If underneath the printer you see "Use:”.  Make sure that says the name of your printer and not AirPrint. Click Add down in the bottom right hand corner.
    Best of luck,
    Kyle

  • HP photosmart c4780 lost connectivity to laptop after update

I have lost connection to HP c4780 printer. It seems to have happened after updating firefox. Connecting laptop directly by usb to printer works.

    Hi,
If the installed Firefox is from a legitimate source and if the OS is secure, you can be fairly confident that Firefox wouldn't and cannot change OS network settings and hardware settings. Please also see [http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-89191-1&cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c02253256&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen&lc=en&product=3794615 this] regarding a similar issue.

  • Lost connection PC to MAC

I have an Intel 2.33 Ghz Core 2 Duo IMAC running OS 10.4.11, which I have been happily running for nearly 2 years on a local network with a couple of Windows XP PC’s shared using a Netgear router and built in ethernet. Recently took the PC laptop away for a week and when returned the MAC will no longer permit access. The MAC can see all my PC’s, read from them and write to them so it doesn’t look like a hardware issue.
On the PC’s I can see the MAC but when attempting to connect to it I get a not accessible you may not have permission message. The MAC ipfw log shows
    May 8 14:31:23 Aid2 ipfw: 20000 Deny ICMP:8.0 192.168.0.4 192.168.0.3 in via en0
    May 8 14:31:26 Aid2 ipfw: 12190 Deny TCP 192.168.0.4:1244 192.168.0.3:445 in via en0 etc etc
I guess that somehow the permissions have changed but I can’t see where or how.
Under Sharing Services, DVD or CD sharing is on, Windows file sharing is on & Personal File sharing is off and will not turn on. No error message when I try. Just tries to turn on and then goes back to off.
Under Firewall Windows sharing and Network time are on, nothing else.
Inernet connection works well from all computers as does printer.
Network diagnostics say all is well.
I can’t think of anything else to try.
    Any helpful suggestions gratefully received!!

Thanks again. Tried those 2 as well as networkconfig.plst and apple.security.plst. Is it possible that the Personal Filesharing does not work if you have Windows Sharing checked. I don't actually remember if that option used to be there or not. I am experienced in PC's and was delighted when I bought the Mac to find that it all happened so easily by comparison. However I don't have much technical expertese on the MAC. I have a vague memory of setting something to say that local computers i.e. 192.168.0.etc were acceptable but cannot find where that setting could be. Is there such a thing? Where do you set the workgroup? Can't find that either but I must have set it at some stage because the MAC appears on the PC as part of the workgroup. It also changes it's name on the PC if I change it in the Sharing Panel. I'm sure it must be s security issue.

  • HT4796 Migration assistant is telling me that it has lost connection with my Mac and to ensure they are on the same network.  They are, and an ethernet cable is plugged into them.  What do i do?

Migration Assistant has been running since yesterday evening.  My Dell is now telling me that its trying to reconnect to my Mac and to ensure they are both using the same network.  I have an Ethernet cable plugged in them and they are both on the same WiFi.  What can I do?

    Hello Wyodor,
thanks for your reply on my question.
You are wright the index file is 308 KB.
And offcourse that I delete my files and documents is not an Iweb problem, but because my English is not that good, that I thougt I try to tell the whole story, and hope people can read trough the lines.
Why I didn't use Iweb to upload to the server is because the server company recommanded to use file zilla. And I am a nobody with this kind of things, so I did exactly what they tell me to do.
No, i did not make a backup of Iweb and the domain file, but reading other messages on this forum showed me that I can maybe try to make empty the cashfile (?)
and otherwise I have bad luck and have to make my website again. Offcourse I have a lot of examples from all the pages (copied from the local map to my USB stick) and my website is aprox. 15 Mb, (not so big) so it will cost me a few nigths.
But I'm still hoping on a miracle :-)
    greetings Lasource

  • Access Point - AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 - PCs can connect but Apple Macs Cannot ...

    Hello,
This is a sort of follow up to a post I made a few days ago. I made changes to my access points and on Windows computers everything works but on Apple products (Macs, iPads, iPhones) the strangest things happen.
(1). About 90% of the time nothing works in that we get NO connection to the Access Point. In the client association logs we see the Mac Address show up but there is a 0.0.0 address where it seems like the device is trying to get an DHCP lease. After a while, the device gets the IPPA address of 169.X.X.X.
    (2) After a extended period of time (an hour or more) the Apple device eventually gets an IP address from the network and then is able to successfully connect to the network. However, the connection is short lived and drops after about 30 minutes to an hour.
Is there a problem with the way Apple products encapsulates their network traffic versus Windows or other products?
Again, this not affect any Windows or Andriod based devices (laptops, phones, etc.) They can connect right away and never drop out.
Below is the configuration file for the AP in question, although this is affecting all of our APs:

  • HP Photosmart Plus B210 connects to network but cannot enable Web Services

I am on my second HP Photosmart Plus B210 and neither printers have been able to enable Web Services.
When I try to connect I get "Cannot Connect to Server".
I have had my computer, router and printer settings checked by HP Support desk.
I have changed my IP Settings to manual and set up DNS settings as per the Network Config report.
I can print without connecting with a USB cable and I can see the printer on my internet browser but for some reason this printer cannot download Product Updates or enable Web Services.
In desperation, I have got another router - a BT Home Hub 2.0 (which I had spare) and tried this in case my Netgear DG834G Router was causing the problem but this has not changed / helped my problem.  I still cannot enable Web Services.
Do I take up HP's offer of a 3rd printer?

Yeah, it is worth a try.  I had my HP rep get me one ASAP...but its still silly on HP's part.
Its like selling you a car and saying, "Oh but if you want to use the radio, you have to buy this remote for it because the keypad on the stereo we provide does not work"  .. "Oh and we dont include the special remote with the car"...
That's just not worthy of the brand "HP"

  • HP Photosmart D110 won't connect. Keeps saying cannot find printer

I'm sorry if someone have posted this before but I don't know how to explain my problem. The printer was working fine the first few weeks we got it and now, it's becoming a hassle especially when I need to print review sheets for class in the morning and the printer won't print.
First, the printer is always offline. I go to Device Manager to re-enable it and it stil says it's offline, but sometimes come back after I restart the computer. This is a hassle to have to restart the computer every time but it never used to do that until recently.
Then, after all that, it still won't print. The documents pend but won't print. I got so irritated I uninstalled the drivers because I thought I might've downloaded the wrong one. The HP website has D110 a and D110 b, why it's like that, I am not sure, but the fact that I downloaded both and they are the same file name, sort of makes me think that they are the same drivers.
Now when I install either driver, and it gets to the part where it asks you to check the IP on the printer, every time I enter the IP, it keeps saying it can't find my printer when it IS the right IP address. I even printed that network page just to make sure I wasn't typing the numbers wrong.
Now I am stick with no printer to use and I'm really frustrated.. because I thought wireless printers were supposed to just work, not give so many problems.
Sorry if I seem angry, but today, I was supposed to be studying all day, instead, I wasted an hour trying to figure this out and came up with no solutions so far.
    Thank you!
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I'm having the same issue with windows 7 on a dell laptop. I'm using the printer wirelessly and have lost connection and have had to reinstall the driver multiple times. I get the printer is offline message and cannot print to it. At the same time, I can access the print on my mac and there are no issues with printing or scanning. Is there a driver update for windows 7 that will fix this issue?

  • Lost Connection Navigator

    Hi Everybody
I am using Oracle Database 10g and SQL DEVELOPER version 2.1.1.64. Accidently I've lost Connection Navigator. I cannot see it even from "View--> Connections"
Please help me to restore original layout of SQL Developer.
    Thanks In Advance.
    Nishu

Then it seems to got "pushed off" the screen.
Delete the windowinglayout.xml file (in Windows in your user profile somewhere under the hidden Application Data\SQL Developer), to have it recreated with the default layout.
    Hope that helps,

  • For some unexplained reason my Imac has Lost the wi-fi connection with my HP Photosmart Prem 310

My Printer is an e-printer Photosmart Prem C310 Model CN503B.  I have recently had a new Imac and the Apple Store downloaded everything from my old Imac to the new one.   The printer worked Okay but last night I discovered that the time capsule had failed to action against the new Imac.  I input my WEP Key and it loaded okay.  Unfortunately my printer was unattached and I cannot get it back on line.  It asks me for a WPA key but I don't know where to find this out.  Please can anybody help me, I have a stack of printing to do and no means of dealing....

It is in your Keychain.  Go to Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access.  Use the search field in the upper right of the Keychain window to search for your wireless network name.  When it finds it double click it.
On the resulting window check the box next to "Show Password", it will ask for your Mac password, then it will reveal your WEP or WPA password (whatever you have).
By the way, WEP is not in the least secure.  I recommend going to Applications > Utilities > Airport Utility and change to the WPA/WPA2 setting in the Wireless menu.  Choose a strong, 13+ character password and hit Apply.  Do this before you re-attach the printer to the wireless network or you will have to do it twice.

Initial setup of my HP Photosmart Prem c410 printer -- cannot connect to my wireless network. The password is good. There is no MAC address filtering on my wireless router. Help. ;-)

OK, I figured it was a DSL router, but wanted to be sure.
DSL routers are rather non-standard, so we have to relieve them of some control during the printer installation:
    1. Unplug the phone line to the router.
    2. Restart the router by pulling its power plug out of the back momentarily, then plug back in.
    3. Wait for the router to restart.
    4. Install your printer, including software on your computer.
    5. When the printer is installed and working, plug the phone line back in the router.
    6. Restart the router again.

You'll need to erase the drive by booting up holding command-option-r keys into your Recovery Volume.
Use Disk Utility to erase the disk and then Internet Recovery. That will take a while.

  • Airport express connection - lost connectivity to iPad with iOS6 a while ago now lost connectivity to Mac with iTunes 11.1?

Many months ago I upgraded to iOS6 and as a result lost connectivity to my old airport express and tried to resest and reconfig.  I gave up on fixing that and was content with the fact that my Mac still had connectivity.  Now with the upgrade to iTunes 11.1 my Mac has lost connectivity.  Am I dealing with an oboslete airport express, or might this be a configuration issue?

I now have this exact same problem...
My mac to my airport express was working fine up until I performed the update to iTunes 11.1.  Now when I select the airplay speakers from the drop down menu I get this error:
The airplay device 'X' cannot be found on your network.  Please verify your network settings and Airplay configuration or select another device.  (Typed out for people who are looking on for this issue on search engines).
Though my newly updated iPhone on iOS 7 can use the airplay fine without any issues.
So since the new update my phone can use the speakers but my Macbook Pro can't? Help!
