HP PSC 1410 Broken Rear Clean-out Door Workaround Replacement

I am yet to replace my old PSC 1410 cause it is still working  after the years I've been using it -- sure proof of its quality. Problem now though, the Rear Clean-out Door got damaged, specifically the prongs and the other parts that are supposed to be flexible. Apparently, the part already got brittle. Because of the it won't close properly and would open while printing unless it's supported. What I do to be able to print is prop the printer against the wall, with something in between the Clean-out Door and the wall. Sometimes, I would just hold the Rear Door shut. It's rather hit or miss, most of the time the print out would come out with some defects when printing images or large tables but usually work fine when it's all text. Funny thing though is that there are days that it prints everything just fine like it don't have any problem, even if I'm just supporting the back part with my hand.
I still got full cartridges (the door broke just a few days after installing the new cartridges) and would want to use it all up first before I replace my PSC. I thought of just buying a spare Clean-out Door while I save money to buy a new printer but I can't find any here (I'm in Quezon City, Philippines). Anyone got ideas to make it print out better or anyone here knows where I can get a spare Clean-out Door?

I am sorry to know that rear access door is broken. You can try contacting one of the resellers in your area for availability of the part. Go to the link below:

You can also contact the local HP technical support for repair or upgrade options for your printer.

  • Can I get my broken ipod touch (out of warranty) replaced at an apple store?

I plugged my ipod touch in to charge last night, the power went off and my ipod fried. I've tried holding the menu and lock button a number of times, but it won't turn on. I can replace it online, but I was wondering if I could visit an apple store and get it replaced there and then for the same price? The warranty has expired.

  • HP PSC 1410 printing blank pages

I have recently installed windows 7 (32 bit) on my Asus G50 laptop. First thing i did was installing all the latest drivers from the HP website including the HP solution centre and other software. Now here's my problem:
Whenever i try to print anything through 3rd party software (i.e. browsers, Word, Notepad etc.) my PSC 1410 'prints' blank pages. The reason i say print is because i can hear the printerhead moving as if it was really printing and the paper gets pulled through in short steps like it normally would. There is however no ink on the pages.
Now here's the weird thing. When i check my ink levels in the solution centre, both color and black are over 75%. It get's even better now: When i use solution centre to print a test page or clean out the inkcartridges it works fine! It seems like all programs outside of HP software have problems communicating somehow.
i'm pretty sure i have the latest drivers installed (downloaded them 3 days ago). I'm running the 32bit version of Windows 7, kept nicely up to date, on an Asus G50v notebook. some technical specs for the lovers:
    Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53 GHz)

  • Can't print from iBook G4 via Windows XP to an HP PSC 1410

    Hello,
I realize this question is very similar to others on this discussion but I haven't been able to find an answer to my problem.
I cannot print from my iBook via XP to an HP PSC 1410.
I can print from my iBook via XP to an HP LaserJet 4L.
I was able to print from my iBook via XP to an HP882C that was connected
to the same USB port that the HP PSC 1410 is connected to now.
    I have an iBook G4 running 10.4.3
I have a PC running XP with an HP LaserJet 4L on a parallel port and an HP PSC 1410 on a USB port.
I installed the following from http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/hpijs/
    hpijs-foomatic-2.02.ppc.dmg
    espgs-7.07.1.ppc.dmg
    HP-PSC_1400-hpijs.ppd
I think I correctly followed the instructions at:
    http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/3015.html
They worked for the LaserJet printer.
When I attempt to print from the iBook to the 1410 the HP doesn't print at all.
I don't see any error messages on the iBook. The document gets spooled onto the Windows print spooler, the printer even starts making noises, the print heads move about a bit and then stop. The print job just sits there in the queue with a status of "Printing". The print job is then stuck and hard to delete.
I don't need to be able to scan or check ink levels from the iBook.
I would just like to be able to do color printing.
What else should I try? Given the symptoms where might I be going wrong?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi all,
I finally figured out what the issue was, Why it fixes it I can not say,
    but it does.
On the Shared printer on the Windows side, go to the properties of the Printer.
Go to the Ports tab, and deselect the "Enable bidirectional Support" (do not
have it checked). Once this is done and you also do not have any firewalls
setup on the Windows machine (Windows, MCAfee, Norton, ....). You should be
    able to print.
Finally!!!!! I hope this helps many many people. As I have had many
people asking for the solution if I found it.
    Thanks,

  • My iPod 5th gen is no longer charging. I've cleaned out lint, switched chargers, and reset the device more times than I can count. I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do to fix it, or if it's a lost cause.

I've had my iPod touch 5th gen for a little over 2 years now. a few weeks ago, I went to plug my iPod into the charger. After about 20 minutes I went to go get it so I could reply to texts and clear some notifications and I noticed that it was still at 20%. So I tried a different cord, different outlet, cleaned out any lint that might be in there, and reset the iPod more than once. Nothing worked. Eventually the problem corrected itself. But then it happened again a few days later. And then it happened just recently, and now it's happening again. In total it's happened 4 times, the first 3 times its corrected itself, but this time it's not. I'm not sure if there's anything else I can do, or if it's just a lost cause.

  • HP PSC 1410 All in One HANG INDEFINITELY with Remote Downlevel Document

Hi, after a few days of setting up my PSC 1410 All In One Printer, which is hooked up to a Compaq Presario V3000 running on Windows XP SP3 with AMD Turion 64x2 processor; and shared print to a Sony Vaio VGN FW33G, and a Mac Pro running on Snow Leopard OS X 10.6
Just yesterday, my printer was jammed with a "Remote Downlevel Document" which I can't remove after using these methods I've researched:
    1. "Right Click and Cancel" x [indefinite] times
    2. "Right Click and Refresh" x [indefinite] times
    3. "Restart" x [indefinite] times
    4. "Restart" with printer hooked on/off to the USB x [indefinite] times + [indefinite] combinations of whichever comes first
    5. "Unhook USB and Click Start>Run "net stop spooler" and Rehook USB and Click Start>Run "net start spooler" x [indefinite] times
    6. Did virus scan for suspicious virus using Anti Vir
    7.  And in between, combinations of the above x [indefinite] times
    8. Search on the internet which obviously there's no real solution
    Please help.

Am (attempting) to print direct from my MacBook - admittedly I did not install any printer drivers during the Leopard (clean) install and am a bit confused as to whether I'm now using the right one, but from what I can gather from the threads like this now littering this forum it wouldn't have made much of a difference. I had infact presumed my problem was just that - that I hadn't the right driver.
Like I hinted at previous; I can reconnect the HP to my old G4 running Tiger and print with no trouble whatsoever.
Trying to print from Leopard brings up the print dialog, and subsequent utility as it should but then nothing - as if the MacBook's not talking with the HP (though it happily recognises it as being there and what model it is etc.).
I have not yet attempted to print over the network, mainly because I couldn't succeed as is. Or tried to scan as it happens (I hardly ever use the built in scanner as I have a better one and the PSC is my backup - I scan a lot in my job).

I have an HP PSC 1410 All in one printer that I cannot print items from my computer on. When I try to print something from my computer my computer tells me that no driver for the printer  is detcted but when I open "MY COMPUTER" and click Devices, it shows the printer listed as operational and that it is functioning properly.

I tried installing the driver and couldn't so I called HP and found out the printer is obsolete and no drivers are available........ they don't support that model anymore , So I'm screwed................

  • All-in-one PSC 1410

I was having lines trying to print in colour so I figured the ink was low. Changed cartridges with the proper HP coulour cartridge # 22 and all it does is print black? Anyone had this problem before? The old cartridge printed coulour but the new one doesn't - is this a cartridge mistake by HP or is there something wrong with the printer?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi acrylic,
I understand you have a PSC 1410 that will only print in black despite you changing the color cartridge to a brand new one. I will certainly do my best to assist you with this.
I would recommend that you follow this Check Print Cartridge Light Blinking document as it will guide you in cleaning the copper contacts of the cartridge and reseating it. You can also have a look through this Missing, Faded or Dull Colors document for a few extra steps.
If the issue persists after this, you can certainly check the warranty date on the cartridge, and if it's in warranty you can call HP Tech Support for your area and inquire about a cartridge replacement.
Hope this helps, have a great day!!

  • Airport Express with HP PSC 1410 printer

I have an airport/airtunes express and have an HP PSC 1410 all in one printer. I can't get it to work as my "network printer" I was surfing the Apple website looking at FAQs and it directed me to the HP site. There are a list of known printers that were compatible with airport express. Mine didn't show up....BUT, the information was very vague. Does anyone know if this will work, or is the "all in one" messing things up? I assume you can't scan and receive data via 802.11b from the Airport Ex.
    Thoughts?

When connected via an Airport Express or Base Station, basically all you can do with a printer is "print". It is *not possible* for any make/model of printer to do any of the following:
    1. scan or fax on with a multifunction printer
    2. check ink levels, or any other printer status
    3. clean print heads
    4. use any printer utility software provided by the printer manufacturer
Paper choices are usually a function of the printer driver, and are therefore always available. Some photo printers won't allow options like borderless printing to work - but issues like this seem only to be known through discussion forums like this since they are rarely publically documented by the printer manufacturers.

  • HP PSC 1410 doesn't turn on

    Hi all,
I own an HP PSC 1410 All in one printer and it has been working fine until today, when i tried to turn on and it didn't work. The point is that once plugged into the current supply, the printer seems to be fine as there is the led that turns on as always, but after that, if i try to turn it on by pressing the power botton, then it doesn't work. I'm not sure if it is a problem of the printer or of the AC adpater, can you help me to sort out and fix the problem ?
    Thanks in advance.

    HI safwanthegreat,
Does the ac adapter get hot after being plugged in for about 10 or 15 minutes ? If so then the power adapter is probably ok.

  • PSC 1410 - print job stuck in queue

Sometimes my PSC 1410 stops printing part-way through a page: the warning lights "jam" and "cartridge" come on, although the paper path clears after pressing On/Resume when the spoiled sheet emerges (undamaged), and the cartridges are at about half life and have been aligned. Apart from the waste of paper and ink, the great problem is that the stuck job remains in the queue and does not respond to Cancel or Delete: even switching printer and computer off and on still leaves the job stuck in the queue sometimes, when it has been known to restart printing automatically.
Can anybody tell me a sure-fire method of clearing the stuck job out of the queue ?

  • PSC 1410 shows E and all leds blinking

    Hi there everyone!
I'm not an english speaker, but I will try to do my best in order to explain myself as clear as possible. This is the fact, I recently acquired a PSC 1410 a year ago. I know the previous owner bought it on 2006 and it was working properly till a month ago when the tricolor cartridge blew up inside the printer, literally. I turned on the printer and it showed me the Error message and all the panels led were blinking. I disconnected it from the wall outlet. So, I disassembled the printer and it was a mess, there was ink all over the interior, including the circuits board. Then I cleaned everything very carefully, and finally I assembled the pieces back together. When I tried to turn on the printer again I received the same Error message and all the leds blinking.
I've been looking for a service manual on the web or something to solve this, but I was unable to achieve my goal. I can not indulge me and buy another printer, I can not reach HP customer service, and nobody knows how to fix this problem here. Moreover I feel like I have a little kind of affection for this appliance.
Now my question: is this problem fixable? Can I fix it on my own?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    CULEBRA83

All lights blinking on the printer would indicate a fatal error situation. Here are couple of things you can try:
    1) Perform the steps under the section 'All lights are Blinking' in the document below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c00476152
    2) Follow the steps in the document below to 'Clean the gold-colored contacts in the print carriage' and cartridge contacts.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00094661
Note: Ensure that the printer is disconnected from power while performing the step.
    Hope this helps.

  • Cleaning out unnecessary clutter

I have the Blackberry 8830.  I am told it's a good idea to periodically clean out unnecessary clutter, but apart from deleting old emails and the call log, no one has been able to explain how to do that.  Does anyone have any recommendations?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There's actually no need to delete old emails and phone logs.  Set how long you want to save messages for to a reasonable time period by going to Messages --> Options --> General Options, scroll down to the bottom and set "Keep Messages" to something like 3 months or less and you should be fine.
The place to keep an eye on every month or two is Saved Messages (if you use that function).  These messages will NEVER be removed from the device until you manually delete them.  You can use the View Saved Messages icon, or view them from Messages (View Saved Messages).  I find I typically save messages that have attachments which (obviously) can take a lot of memory, so every month or two I view them and delete the ones I no longer need.
Other than that you shouldn't need to do anything.  As with any computer, a reboot may be needed occasionally (if you abuse your BlackBerry like I do - constantly installing and uninstalling applications, overloading it with applications, etc).  Of course, you can do this by simply removing the battery, but my BlackBerry's battery door was starting to get worn out until I found Soft Reset.  A simple application that allows you to definatively reboot the device without having to remove the battery.  You can install it Over The Air (OTA) by pointing your BlackBerry's Browser to:
    http://www.geekandproud.net/blackberry-software/#SoftReset
And before everyone starts talking about using [Alt][Shift][Del] to reboot the device, this does typically work on a very clean device, but I have found it to be unreliable (the device looks like it reboots, but comes up without it being locked as it should) and sometimes even doesn't do anything.  Soft Reset solves both of these problems.
