HP PSC 750

Hi.  Up until about 3 weeks ago, we had no printing issues ... then all of a suddent it just started printing half a page.  This is in high quality as well as draft - color as well as black and white - any suggestions?  Print cartridges hve been replaced. Diagnostics have been run.  Cartridges are properly aligned... I don't know where to go next so any help would be greatly appreciated!

When printing stops are there any error messages on the display or on the computer?  Do you have any issues with the margins creeping toward the edge or with straight vertical lines being displaced?
[Note:  HP would not recommend the following, but I have had good results.] With the power on, open the lid, then allow the carriage to move to the center.  Now pull the power plug.  Gently move the carriage back and forth.  If the carriage does not move freely then you could clean the carriage rod with a damp paper towel.  Continue until the carriage rod is "clean", with the cleaning paper no longer comes up with ink as it is swiped over the rod.  Once the rod is clean put a drop (no more!) of light oil such as sewing machine oil or 3-in-one oil on each side of the carriage on the carriage rod and move the carriage back and forth several times.  Next plug the printer back in, close the lid, turn it on and allow the printer to initialize.  [HP does not recommend lubing the carriage rod because folks overdo it and can cause problems as an over-lubricated carriage rod may collect paper fibers, pet hair, etc, and become gummed up.]

  • Psc 750 Will not scan

    hello,
I have a hp psc 750 connected via usb cord to my hp  pavilion dv3 running windows 7 64 bit.  I can copy and print, but it will not scan.  When I try it says I need a WIA driver needed please reinstall with the CD or get it from online.  Online says I don't need any drivers when connected via usb (very frustrating!).  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.  I've tried both a partial and a hard reset of the printer.  I have checked that the WIA, Shell Hardware Detection and Remote Procedure Call are all "started" and set to "automatic."  I have stopped and restarted all of them as directed in other forums all with no avail.  I have downloaded and run the "Scan doctor" from HP and it can't even detect a scanner.  I am seriously at a loss and want to throw my printer across the room and as the warranty is no longer relevant I can't get a real HP human to help me without paying money (not going to happen).  Any help would be appreciated!
p.s. this printer was hooked up to another computer long, long ago and it's scan settings were set to that computer which is now completely dead so there is no way to change those settings even after "resetting" the printer.  It still wants to scan to a specific program on said old computer.  I have a feeling that is part of the issue, but have no idea how to "unset" the original settings considering even after I've done partial and hard resets, it still wants to scan to that location.
HELP ME BEFORE I GO INSANE!!!

    Hi dna0825,
    Sorry that didn't work.
I have provided a post from @pcwizard where he sets the Remote Procedure Call to manual and also the Shell Hardware Detection.
I would try this to see if it makes a difference.
    Restart the Dependencies services.
This is a Windows issue and I would highly recommend to contact the computer manufacturer or Microsoft to see if they can resolve this issue if that didn't work.
Please let me know the results.

  • Printing Issues with HP PSC 750 on Dell Inspiron 3647 using Windows 8.1

Recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 3647 desktop which has Windows 8.1 unable to get my HP PSC 750 to print correctly.
I have downloaded all applicable Win 8.0 drivers and even tried using the HP print & Scan Doctor application.  I get partial test pages printed, but the emails, documents, etc. are not complete.
I had one error pop up stating that the USB 2.0 may not work with the 3.0 on the computer, but never how to 'work around that issue'.
I tried calling HP support and they wanted to 'remote' into my computer as that was the only way they said the issue could be fixed...never done that before and was not comfortable with it...
Any other ideas - before I go out and buy a brand new printer (this one by the way still works great!)
    Thanks in advance!

Hi there and welcome to the forums
I saw your post about trying to install and use your PSC 750 on your new Windows 8.1 system. After checking the drivers out for this printer, I have discovered that there is no driver available for Windows 8.1. Perhaps try running the HP Print and Scan Doctor to see if that will help with printing. If not, I would then suggest looking into an upgraded printer which will have more up to date software and would most likely function with 8.1.

  • Problem with hp psc 750

I have an hp psc 750 all-in-one printer, sometimes it just stops working (it will start to print and then pause indefinitely). Usually I have to reboot to get it going again. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a work-around?

Try the alternate USB driver "usbtb."

  • HP PSC 750 - not working on Leopard 10.5.1

Following some previous advice I saw upon encountering this problem, I deleted and reinstalled the original HP drivers (from the HP website). This fixed it, for a short while. But within days or even hours, the printer stops working again completely:
    1) After this time during troubleshooting I notice under System Prefs> Print & Fax that 2 printers have become listed with the same name, PSC 750. One of them is default.
    2) Trying either printer does not work. Using generic drivers (included with Leopard) does not work.
    3) The printer is connected by USB.
    4) When sending a print job, I can click on Info and see supply levels of black and color ink etc., but the print job will just get stuck at "Connecting" or "Printing" and won't actually print.
    5) The only way I can get the printer to work again is to delete all printers, choose Applications> HP> Uninstall and then reinstall from the downloaded installer.
Suggestions? I can't figure this out.

I plugged my old PSC 750 into a new MacMini Intel running 10.5.2 today and spent hours to get all functions back to work.
I was not surprised as many problem arose when i upgraded to Tiger allready.
I got EVERYTHING (print and scan) back in operation finally, but it was a bit of a nightmare.
HP claims to have achieve (together with Apple) a print-only integration of all PSC AIO into Leopard, but looking around in google following my troubles, it appears to be a delusion for many.
    My solution so far:
You need to press the minus sign twice in the preference panel to delete all printers from the list and download and run the three installers you can find there. First install Foomatic-RIP + gplgs-8.61-ub.dmg and then only hpijs-2.7.10-UB.dmg or it won’t run.
I don’t link them directly as it would fail to follow update, and become dead links in a matter of weeks...
You may then select the proper PSC 750 Foomatic driver within the preference pane.
Works like a charm. I tried Gutenprint 5.1.7 before but no result, printing was just getting stuck on the way.
This HP FAQ section can be useful as well...
I also have troubles scanning with HP scan software from the last (probably ppc) release of HP proprietary drivers and utilities for Tiger, but it DOES scan at least once, then says it has problem to connect to the TWAIN source.
The solution i found in HP FAQ is hilarious. I bumped into this official workaround on their support site, when i had the same trouble after upgrading my PB800 to Tiger.
    HP support diagnosis:
Airport and Built-in Ethernet cannot be enabled at the same time.
If you are using Airport to connect to the internet they suggest to go to System Preference-Network and JUST GET RID of the ethernet connection in Network Status!!!
Well that WAS true in Tiger.
And if, like i do, you have a home cable network for old non-airport machines you may as well think about buying a new scanner...
Even after setting Ethernet off, at many occasions the scanner freezes on preview or scan and comes back to work after an USB unplugging and sometimes only after a restart of the PSC or even a reboot of the mac with the printer unplugged (to the worse you might need to unplug the PSC power cable) .
    Good luck!

  • I have a hp psc 750 why does my second sheet come out first and the second sheet comes first

I have a HP PSC 750 printer and when I type a message 2 sheets long, the second prints out first and the second sheet comes out first, can you help?

    @paddyv, Welcome to the Community!
You should have the option in the program you're printing from, to change the page order. Check the settings in the program.
If you cannot find the options, please let me know which program and operating system you're running and I will have a look in to this for you.
    Best wishes

  • HP PSC 750 _ drivers_Windows 8 not working

Please supply working drivers for : HP PCS 750 for Windows 8 x64.
Windows update does, recognize a usb device, but it does not find a drivers also not from windows update.
from catalog.update.windows.com ( driver of 2012 ) is missing files, so does not work.
    please provide working drivers..
    kind reagrds,
    H. Kitapci

I am not sure I have the capabilities to provide "working drivers" as it sounds more like you are having a problem with missing files in the registry if you cannot install the printer with the plug and play drivers.
Try the HP Printer Install Wizard and hopefully that will get you printing again.  I recommend trying the suggestion in this link to totally solve your problem though:
--There's No Driver For My Printer--
I could not find the product specifications for the PSC 750 to determine which printer language it uses but you may be able to install the Deskjet 990c driver or the PSC 750xi instead.
Let me know if this helps you.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

  • Hp PSC 750 All in One Printer

My hard drive crashed and I had to replace it as well as install operating system and  went to HP site to install drivers for my hp psc 750.  Printing is fine but when I go to scan I am  able to preview scan but once scanned doc is nowhere to be found.  How can I fix this? Before once scanned it gave me option to scan to a location but after scanning no option pops up.

Welcome to the HP Community ! I saw your post about wanting to scan again after replacing your hard drive and reinstalling your OS. After checking out the drivers for your printer, I see that there are no full drivers available with Windows 7. In having said that, you will not be able to download and use HP Software to scan. Below is a link for you to see the instructions on how to scan using other methods. I also took a screen shot to show you the options you have to scan. I hope this helps!   HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver      Best wishes to you!Show thanks for my reply to help you today by hitting the "thumbs up" icon below!

  • Psc won't switch from copy to print

I so need help!  My hp psc 750 won't switch from copy mode to print mode.  I have a job I need to print and when I go to print it, it says printer error and puts my print job in queue.  Nothing is waiting to copy, it just won't go to print mode.  Help please!!!

I would start by checking the USB cable is connected between the printer and computer.  Next make sure the printer driver is installed and that the printer is not set to "use printer offline".

  • HP 1350 PSC Driver for Mac OS10.75

I need a driver that will run the 1350 printer using my Mac .

Hey , Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

  • Need help getting Mac driver for HP PSC 1510 that works on XP networked printer

My goal is to use a Mac OS X 10.5 laptop and use a Windows XP networked printer - an HP PSC 1510. So far I have failed.
I downloaded a driver update 1.1.1 from Mac which has version 4.03 of the HP PSC 1500 series family of drivers. However, the documentation states that it is not one that will work with an IP or XP connected printer. The earlier driver that came with Mac OS X 10.5 documentation also says that it will not work with an IP or XP connected printer. This explained why the Mac versions of the HP software applications could not see my printer. I had also tried using the default Postscript generic option presented when I was setting up the network printer on the Mac. My one graphic page printed as ten or twelve text pages of nonsense characters so that was also a failure.
So I have my shared HP PSC 1510 wired (connected) off my Windows XP desktop and shared on my home network. I really want to be able to print to the HP PSC 1510 from my wireless Mac laptop especially now that I am partially disabled and getting up and to the PC printer is painful.
If anyone knows how to make this work properly, or even an acceptable workaround, I would be ever so grateful.
