iam new to Badi concept. what i want is
In single use and filter dependent badi HRHAP00_GET_LIST_FLT.
Utilities-->overview shows 2 times implemented.
how can search where it is callled? in which transaction?

I am currently working on conversions of script logic files of BPC MS 7.0 into ABAP BADI's of BPC NW 7.5
Few of the keywords that I do not understand are:
GET, LOOKUP, FLD, XDIM_GETINPUTSET, FUNCTION
Also when I create the BADI, filter definition is part of it, so what values will the filter have.

Hi Pankaj,
Filter name is like a keyword and the badi's in bpc are called using the filter names.
Please check the pdf for badi creation and can be easily found on sdn.
I would advise you not to convert everything in Badi's as some things can be retained in script logic in NW version also.
Creating BADI's can be quite complicated for tasks which could be written in few lines in script logic.

Hello,
Since this BADI is not suiting our requirement, this is what I would suggest.
In the include LSSCDFX1 which is in the main program SAPLSSCD, you can find a subroutine
GET_GLOBAL_FIELDS_FROM_CREATE in which you can create an implicit enhancement implementation and capture the
appointment data which is available as subroutine parameters. Create the implementation at the end of the Subroutine.
You'll find the following Subroutine parameters.
BODY TYPE SOLI
PART STRUCTURE SCSPARINC
RULE TYPE RULE_TAB
APPT TYPE SCSAPPT (Changing Parameter).
Hope this would be helpful for your requirement.

There are obviously numerous things to start listing them. more than the smartforms or reports, it would be userexits, BADIs, BAPIs, methods that would be required from an ABAPer in setting up business processes. For instance, he/she may have to set up a Workflow for Stock Transport Order and Delivery process based on release Strategy, change some screen layouts or may have to load (migrate) Business partners, Contact persons, Prospects from legacy to CRM system.
ABAPer would be more a facilitator with CRM.
CRM has very good market. Every product has its own demand and so the call is urs to make and more importantly to be committed to ur choice to make it work. All the best.

SAP BPC 7.0NW (project in Ramp-Up)

We are doing 2 Ramp-Ups currently on the BPC for Netweaver version, and I have a question relating to script logic.
Knowing the Microsoft version very well, we are quite experienced with using logic for budgeting or forecasting purposes. I have read that ABAP/BADI's are the alternative for SQL Logic or could be. In fact, I am looking for the alternative statements of the SQL logic, but then Netweaver-compatible.
- Is there information available on how to write BPC-logic based on ABAP/BADI's?
- Will all of the SQL logic available in the Microsoft version become fully available in the NW version (now very limited availability)?

Hi Bjorn,
The alternative to SQL based script logic in SAP BPC NetWeaver would be MDX based functions. There are 2 methods that you can utilize.
1. MDX based functions
2. ABAP based functions/ BADI's
SQL Logic in NetWeaver environment doesn't work. You may try utlizing microsoft based MDX in NetWeaver environment. Well, it is up to you if you are able to utilize BADI's too prefereable method in terms of NewWeaver environment. You may have to get the information from SAP regarding what standard functions are available in writing script logic using ABAP/BADI's.

Script Logic choice SQL or MDX in NW release?

Hi experts,
I have encountered some opposite arguments in forum. Please can you clarify NW release script logic choice should be as MS release?
In [Script Logic BPC MS (SQL) vs. NW (ABAP); Tim Klem states
- "Write the logic using BPC SQL script logic syntax (not MDX) for performance reasons" but this opinion based on MS version. How about NW release is it really smarter to select SQL Script rather than MDX.
There is another statement in [Re: BPC 7 NW; Deppak mentions that:
- "In BPC 5.1 the script formula approach suggests to use SQL based logic instead of MDX.
Whereas in Teched,08, I learnt that MDX & ABAP (using BADIs) would be used for it. Thats why I am slightly confused...."
But second statement is far beyond NW relase date and I am sure this is not true but I would like you to confirm that.
If you were a project responsible and want that all scripts will be held in one language, what would you choose??

However, you (or you client) has chosen the NetWeaver version for whatever reason. I'm sure a thorough decisions process has lead to this decision. In choosing the NetWeaver version with SAP BI you will sooner or later come to the point that you will have to use ABAP if you like it or not. Especially when you start using further capabilities within NetWeaver and the BI solutions. So from my point of view ABAP knowledge is an essential skill you need in a project based on SAP NetWeaver anyway.
Additionally I heared some statements that MDX is causing some performance issues on the NetWeaver version. This may have been fixed in the meantime with some SPs.
As the SQL within the NetWeaver verison does not have the full functionality than it has in MS Version SQL is not an option for me.
I do also not see the cost impact hence someone need to do the support anyway. In case of MDX you need an MDX developer, in case of ABAP and ABAP developer. Or a technical BPC consultant able to do the development (which I would recommend you should have in your project team anyway).
So coming back to your original question, I would recommend to do as much as possible using ABAP BADIs.

MDX in logic script

How can I use MDX in logic scripts?
For example, I would like to use the function IIF(...), but the system doesn't want to recognise it as a valid keyword. Even if I nest it in a REC statement as an expression, it doesnt work. Do you have any idea?

I have recently entered the world of ISA - ICSS on the functional side & would like to get a good understanding of what exactly:
1)A functional role in ISA & ICSS is expected to do?
2)What are the various configurations, settings , step-by step process that needs to be maintained by a functional consultant in E-Commerce?
3)On a day to day basis, what should a Functional Consultant be doing?
If you Gurus can please help me understand this, it will be a big help.
At this point I'm not sure what part of ISA ICSS is being handled by a Technicak Developer & what are the other areas / consultants a functional person needs to work with & for what kind of information.

I may say your queries are quiet general to answer.
At most cases, functional will define the business process and map it into
the system configuration. ICSS which is Internet Customer Self Service function
where you as functional expected to activate some functions so that your
customer able to use some transactions/query to your system by themself.
On daily basis, a functional should make sure that necessary functions are
correctly configured and work as expected. While technical, may involve on
customization such as specific customize user fields or screen layout or
ABAP/BAdi program. But this again, each company / project team may have
different point of approach on how to do it.

   You can call a method of a class from BADI. Here are the steps.
   1) In the BADI implementation create a object for the proxy class.
   2) Call the Execute_Synchronous method.
    You can define a BADI by using SE18 and you can implement it by using SE19.

You can extend this as far as you like -- it's really easy and MUCH MUCH easier than the old way with fieldcatalogs etc etc.

If the pagecontainer_mc holds another movieclip that contains the button you are trying to target, then you need to include that loaded movieclip in the targeting. And if contacts is that movieclip, then you should be able to target it directly using...

User-exit/BADI during outbound ABAP proxy call

Hello,
I want to introduce certain check during outbound ABAP proxy calls to PI. This is a generic check, failure of which would stop the proxy call to proceed and raise an exception.
I would like to place this at the generic place which is called for all the outbound ABAP proxy calls, rather than coding this in each and every outbound proxy class as the check is generic.
Is there some user-exit/BADI where i can introduce this? Maybe within class CL_PROXY_OUTBOUND or somewhere else where i can introduce this check.
Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

i agree with sabrish, you must be having a z report on the application system that must be calling that outbound proxy...may be if the check is generic it may not be related to a proxy so you can code a FM and then call it before you call that proxy in the z report

BADI for changing Appraisal document application name for Web dynpro ABAP

Hi,
For Appraisal document customizing through PHAP_CATALOG_PA, We have BADI HRHAP00_BSP_TMPL to change the BSP application name which can be used in Web layout for output display. Using this we can change application name from HAP_DOCUMENT to custom BSP application name
Similarly, what is the BADI for changing Web dynpro ABAP applictaion name? Currently its triggering HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT.
how do we change application name to some custom web dynpro application name

Hi Karim,
I don't know, if there is any chance to get the Webdynpro application name. At least in the ABAP System fields is no information about the webdynpro application name.
One remark: I have allways problems with BAPIS / BADIS that behave different depending on the caller. Could it be a good idea to pass some information through the interface / parameters?

Can anybody tell me What is meant BY BADI's!
Also what are the main diffrences between User-Exits and BADI's!
Can anybody explain me wether any diffrent types of BADI's are available!
Can anybody provide me documentation with the examples
for BADI's.

I.What is Badi?
1.New SAP enhancement technique
2.To accommodate user requirements not available / too specific to be included in the SAP standard Program
3.Based on ABAP Objects It has Interfaces & Methods
4.Guaranteed upward compatibility of all Business Add-In interfaces
-Release upgrades do not affect enhancement calls from within the standard software nor do they affect the validity of call interfaces
II.BAdi & Customer-Exit
1.Though different enhancement technique, BAdi has following distinct features
-Uses Object oriented approach
-Two parts - Definition and its Implementation - definition can either be SAP provided or user may also create it
-no longer assumes a two-system infrastructure (SAP and customers)
-allows multiple levels of software development (by SAP, partners, and customers, and as country versions, industry solutions, and the like)
3.BAdi where to find
1.Look for BAdi in IMG and in component hierarchy (using transaction SE18)
2.Create own implementation of the add-in (complete coding for Methods) and activate
3.Enhancement's active components are called at runtime.
BAdi Definition (SE18)1.To include Business Add-Ins in the program
- Define an interface for the enhancement in the SAP menu under Tools-> ABAP Workbench -> Utilities -> Business Add-Ins -> Definition (transaction SE18)
-Call the interface at the appropriate point in application program
-Customers can then select the add-in and implement it according to their needs
BAdi Implementation (SE19)
1.ABAP Workbench ->Utilities -> Business Add-Ins -> Implementation (transaction SE19)
2.Find the suitable Business Add-Ins present in system (Use IMG or Component hierarchy)
3.Use Add-Ins Documentation to understand functionality & to decide
4.Implement the Add-Ins
-a class is created with the same interface
-Finalize coding for the method
5.Implementations are discrete transport objects and lie within the namespace of the person or organization implementing them
