HR Demo Script and Login
What name and password should I use for the HR demo? I found the script but it does not contain the name and password. WHich RPD should I be selecting?

The passwords are all contained in the Content Guide located on the desktop of the BI Image.
Administrator or ESMITH or HROTH should work. The rpd/webcats are BAAD or OracleBIAnalyticApps/EntBusAnalytics

Novell Client and Login Scripts?
All:
I'm a former administrator of NetWare 3.x, 4.x and 5.x systems and am
intrigued by the NLSBS 9 offering. I have downloaded the trial version
and have installed it on a test server.
Since I am "old school", I was wondering if I could use the Novell Client
for Windows XP and login scripts to automatically map shares using groups
like I did back in the day.
I'm very new to the Novell/Linux world since every organization I've
worked for in the past 10 years abandoned NetWare for Windows. I'm sure
a LOT has changed since the Linux OS was brought on board, so I thought
I'd ask.

GregNot sure. It would depend on whether Novell is still offering a product upgrade to the OWS from Windows 2000 SBS and what that price looks like. Otherwise, I was more thinking about the software side itself, re: the Linux side. Either way will work. Just work out the figures.

I'm working in a unix environment where I have a lot of sql scripts to run using different DB users but only one OS user.
I notice that in this version of SQL*Plus something was change regarding glogin and login scripts: they are executed also after a successful connect. There is no warning in the documentation to NOT use CONNECT in these scripts.
What happens is recurrent execution of the same login script if there is a CONNECT command in it up to 20 time (the limit of recurrence in SQL*Plus). The only workaround I found is to put SET SQLPLUSCOMPATIBILITY to a prior version in the same login file before the CONNECT command.
Has anyone a better idea ?

When you run a CONNECT command, the site profile, glogin.sql, and the user profile, login.sql, are executed.
I understand your problem. The best would be to use a valid login and glogin script. I do not recommend big modification in glogin.
Some tools, like OEMGC, particulary hates aggressive staff in glogin.sql, for example ALTER SESSION, etc...
It is not recommended to do a "SET TERMOUT OFF" or a "WHENEVER SQLERROR CONTINUE" or any DML/DDL in your glogin, because it will irreversibily affect some scripts.
The best I can rate you : remove your fancy staff from glogin.sql. If it is about the sql prompt, use 10g feature, like
set SQLP _USER@""_CONNECT_IDENTIFIER>much better than selecting from global name!!!

How to find the system default scripts and prompts in UCCX 8.0

I have a bit of experience in UCCX 6.0 and just began to use UCCX 8.0. There's a question that where can I find the system default scripts and prompts in 8.0? In 6.0, I can find them in installing directory, but 8.0 is linux based so I can not do that in same way.

CD /opt/cisco/uccx/Scripts/system/default
At this point you have to connect to ftp server and move these default script to yoru FTP server.

Have just done a full install of 11g (on Windows:(:() and wanted to use the demo scripts.
Problem is they do not seem to exist in the demo\schema folder.
Anyone know why this might be?
Also, does scott still exist, as I cannot find it in my DB.

Portable Home Directories and Login Hooks
We recently switched from Network Home Directories to Portable Home Directories. We used to use login hooks to do all kinds of nifty things to a user's home folder at login, but now it's complicated. I can't figure out at what point in the login+sync process the login hook executes.
If the login hook executes before syncing, then I need to modify the network copy of the home folder, i.e. Network/Servers/servername/.../username. If the login hook executes after syncing, then I need to modify the local copy of the home folder, i.e. /Users/username. Unless I'm mistaken, you can't just use the tilde (~) in the script to denote the path the home folder, so you have to list the path explicitly.
My testing seemed to result in inconsistent behavior. Can anyone give me some guidance?

I wrote a lot of them when we were using Network Home Directories. The root of my question has to do with Portable Home Directories and login hooks.
This is a computer lab environment where every user has their own account, network home folder, and "Mobility" preferences set in Workgroup Manager. When a user logs into a lab computer, syncing kicks in and they work from a local copy of their home folder which then syncs to the server at login and logout.
So the core question is: Do login and logout hooks execute before or after login/logout home syncing occurs?
For example, if a user with a brand new network account, i.e. who doesn't even have a network home yet, logs into a computer, what's the order of events? I would hope it would be:
1) server creates network home
2) computer creates local home, i.e. syncs
3) login hook executes
But my testing has been inconsistent. Anyone have any experience or insights to share? -

I dont know much about databases and setting up, but I had to create a website for a school project and now I want that people can register and login.
I couldnt really a good tutorial but I saw that I need to setup a database.
I really have no idea how or what so I hope you guys have time for a noob like me and want to explain me.You'll need to become familiar with databases (like mySQL) and server side scripting (like PHP).
Connecting your database to your website is done through server scripting. While DW can be used to do this, it's something that will really require you to learn the basics those two items.
I'd suggest taking the time to read a good book or two on mySQL and PHP (they usually go hand in hand for most books). That will generally give you the base info needed to make a simple username/password database and site. Once you have that under your belt, you'll probably want to learn more and more PHP. It's a very flexible language and can do a lot of very useful things for your websites. -
Computer freezes when screen is locked and login through ARD
I have a couple of various mac labs across a campus and I've been dealing with a fun little problem. All the macs are bound to Active Directory, running ARD 3.2, some are OS X 10.4 and some 10.5, but they all do the same thing. When doing some maintenance I like to lock the screens to prevent users from seeing the screen and interrupting the work. The problem is that I lock the screens, then use an auto-login Unix script to login to all of the computers at once. My ARD admin client displays that all the computers are inactive and when I look at the computers face to face they are frozen on the locked screen. The only solution is the manually shut down each computer because I have no control over them through ARD.
The same thing seems to happen if I login to the computers, then freeze the screen and try to logout. The logout process does the same thing and locks up the computer.
Anyone else been having this little issue or a possible solution other than just waiting until after the computers are logged on, then locking the screens?Has anyone submitted this as a bug to Apple, yet?
I've got the same issue, but if you've allowed 'Remote Login' in Sharing, you can then ssh in to the machine and kill the lock and user you tried to log in with before the 'ARD Not Active' status change. Save's you a trip across campus...
I've found that it's the logging in or out, as previously mentioned that is causing the failure. Observing machines has no ill effects.
I also found that if i control the machine, log in, and then use the 'Lock screen while i control' button in the window top, it works fine - AS LONG AS you click it again before you log out of the remote machine. A workaround that has gotten me through until now. -

Difference with SMARTFORMS vs. SapScript(SE71)
The Following are the differences :-
a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
c) Labels cannot be created in smartforms.
d) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
e) Smartforms generates a function module when activated.
f) Unlike sapscripts (RSTXSCRP), you cannot upload/download Smartform to your local harddisk.
It was said that it was provided in CRM 3.0 version, but not available in R/3. You can download smartforms into Local PC in a XML format. In the same way you can upload this XML format into Smartform. From the smartform editor itself you can call download option, if you are working in CRM 3.0 environment.
In R3 also, you can download into XML format. However, it's not sure about uploading. Refer to the program 'SF_XSF_DEMO'.
In 4.7 Enterprise, other have seen this utlity which is completey missing in 4.6c. There is functionality to downlaod a complete form or only a particular node. (Utilities -> Download form). It will create a XML file and save it in the hard disk.
For others, if you want to download/upload the Smartforms source, you will need the help from the Basis people. What you can do is to create a Transport and then FTP down to your local harddisk. When you need the Smartform source in another system, you have FTP up the Smartforms file back to the SAP server. Finally, the Basis team, will tp it into your system.
g) The protect and endprotect command in sapscript doesn't work with smartforms. For example on a invoice: First data of position no 80. is printed on page one, other data of position no 80 is printed on page 2. And there's nothing you can do about it. Actually, there is something you can do about it. By using a folder node and checking the 'protect' checkbox, everything in that folder will be page protected.

Mail attachment: difference between script and app bundle?

I am trying to make an application in Applescript that will receive a file, then create a new email (in Mail.app) with that file attached. I would prefer it to be an app, rather than a script when it's finished. I have a script that appears to work.
This simple script will put up a Choose File window asking for a file, then bring Mail to the front and create a new message, with the selected file attached (it won't send it). For debugging, I made a dialog box pop up showing the path to the file selected:

Sounds like you have a program designed to run on Microsoft Windows, or even older (1980's) MS-DOS, rather than Mac OS X. If you have Windows on your Mac installed via Boot Camp, try booting into Windows first, and then loading the CD. If you don't have Windows, it's probably cheaper to buy a new program designed for Mac than to purchase a copy of Windows (US$120 or more), not even knowing for certain if your old program will run. -
when Update to 10.7.2 ,I cannot access to any site with ssl connection and fail to open safari and keychain, unless restart computer and login in with Guest account.

Macbook Pro 2010-mid 13inchI also have the same problem, however if I use Firefox or Opera sites with ssl connection work fine. Still, I can't use Google Chrome (ssl), Safari (ssl), the Mac app store (generally), or the iTunes store (generally). Both the iTunes store, Safari and the app store won't respond, and Chrome displays this error: (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT). The problem persists regardless of what network I'm using. Also, when trying to access the keychain or iCloud, the process will not start (will hang). I didn't have these problems at all before updating to 10.7.2.
Sometimes rebooting helps, and sometimes not. If the problem disappears by rebooting, then it only lasts a few minutes before it reappears. It is very frustrating, especially since there doesn't seem to be any obvious or consistent way of which to fix it.
I'm also using a Macbook Pro 13-inch mid 2010. -
I spilled water on my laptop and my "i", "j" and "k" letters don't work on my laptop. However my main problem is that my password contains an "i" so i am locked out of my computer. Any ideas how I can get around the password and login. I tried the method where you go into single user mode and type in commands, however that method uses some of the letters that are not working on my laptop.
You didn't mention which version of OS X your running but there are password reset utilities provided OS X: Changing or resetting an account password (Snow Leopard and earlier) - Apple Support or OS X: Changing or resetting an account password - Apple Support
Alternately you can use an external keyboard to log in and change the password. Make a backup if you don't have one, it's likely that your problems aren't over. If that water continues to migrate downward and fries the logic board your macbook will be toast.
