    You have a few problems with your script, you are giving values for the width and height for the new document and they will default the ruler unit setting you have in Photoshop, this may not be pixels.
    The font name should be the postScript name and they do not contain spaces.
    It is best to pass an encoded string to the script and then decode it in Photoshop IE:-
    var text = encodeURI('abcd\'abd\'ed\"afa');
    var bt = new BridgeTalk();
    bt.target = "photoshop";
    bt.body = bt.body = "var main = " + script.toSource() + "; main(" + text.toSource() + ");";
    bt.send(4);
    function script(text){
    var docWidth = 1650;
    var docHeight = 1650;
    var docName ='Front';
    var docRef = app.documents.add(new UnitValue(docWidth,'px'),new UnitValue(docHeight,'px'), 300,docName);
    var myLayer1 = docRef.artLayers.add();
    myLayer1.kind = LayerKind.TEXT;
    myLayer1.textItem.kind = TextType.POINTTEXT;
    myLayer1.textItem.font='Georgia';
    myLayer1.textItem.size=13;
    var textColor1 = new SolidColor;
    textColor1.rgb.hexValue = 'F8F3E9';
    myLayer1.textItem.color = textColor1;
    myLayer1.textItem.contents =decodeURI(text);

  • Language:  Filename with characters for arabic turns question mark

    Language: Filename with characters for arabic turns question mark
    OS: Solaris 9
    Machine: Sun-Fire 25K
    There is an adobe distiller software that is configured and a java apps. There are postscript files that are being converted to .pdf format using the adobe distiller. Using the GUI (using the Exceed; for remote access), when they use GUI to convert the postscripts to pdf files, the long filenames have the corresponding characters for arabic reading purpose. This is OK.
    When we use the windows RUN to telnet the server and convert the postscripts to pdf, it gives a question marks characters in the filenames ( this; is a sample; filename; ?? ??? ??; right.pdf )
    We are not sure now if we have to add a package of arabic or a patch to resolve this problem.

    Solution found, I'll post the work around to those who might encounter the same problem.
    Somewhere in the layers of technology (webwork or weblogic I'd guess), the servlet response is encoded into UTF-8 regardless. The encoding in the database was ISO-8859-1. Sending ISO encoded bytes by UTF-8 caused the conflicting character codes (anything above 127) to show up as undefined.
    The fix is to decode the input byte array into ISO-8859 string, then encode that string into UTF-8, which can be send by Weblogic.
    isoConvert = new String(buf, "ISO-8859-1");
    out.write(isoConvert.getBytes("UTF-8"), 0, isoConvert.getBytes("UTF-8").length);

    Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

  • Why Outlook email messages show unreadable characters

    When you receive a new email in Outlook, you may see unreadable characters in the email message body. This issue could be caused by one of the following reasons on Outlook client side:
    The email you received is converted to plain text format or a different encoding by a virus scanner.
    This always happens when you are using characters (Such as apostrophes, double quotes, dashes, and ellipsis) supported by the "Smart Quotes" feature. When the email you received is converted to plain text format or a different encoding by a virus
    scanner, the character is converted from the ASCII character to a Unicode character, which is not supported on the recipient’s side.
    To prevent this issue from happening, we can turn off the “Smart Quotes” Feature in Outlook:
    1. Open Outlook 2013.
    2. Click File > Options > Mail.
    3. Click Spelling and AutoCorrect button.
    4. In the Editor Options window, click AutoCorrect Options button to open the AutoCorrect dialog.
    5. Click AutoFormat tab, and then clear the check box before “Straight quotes” with “smart quotes” under Replace heading.
    6. Click OK.
    The issue may be related to font substitution when a change is made to the Web Options in Microsoft Word.
    If a change is made to the Web Options in Microsoft Word, registry data under the following key may be configured incorrectly:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Internet\Fonts
    This problem has been seen to occur when the Latin string value under the \Fonts key was empty (no value).
    We can check the Web Options setting in Word via:
    1. Start Word.
    2. Go to File > Options > Advanced.
    3. Scroll down to the General section, click Web Options button.
    4. Switch to Font tab.
    To resolve the problem, we need to delete the \Fonts registry key. To do this, please follow:
    1. Exit Word.
    2. Press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type regedit and press Enter.
    3. Navigate to:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Internet\Fonts
    4. Right-click the Font key and select Delete.
    5. Click Yes and exit Registry Editor.
    The sender used an e-mail program that did not mark messages with a language encoding (character set), or marked messages with an incorrect encoding setting.
    In this case, we will see unreadable characters when we open the received message in our Outlook. For example, European regional characters (like German) require UTF-8 encoding protocol. So if the encoding in your environment is set to ASCII, the regional
    characters will not be available.
    To resolve this issue, we need to change the encoding in Outlook to which will display your message correctly.
    1. Double-click to open the message you received.
    2. Click Actions button in the Move group under Message tab.
    3. Click Other Actions > Encoding.
    4. Click More and select the correct encoding setting for the email.
    5. After you finish reading the message, close the message, and click Yes button to save changes to the message.
    When we send an email with Outlook, we can set Outlook to automatically select encoding for outgoing email messages to increase the possibility that the recipient receiving the message will see all the characters rendered properly, even if they run older
    e-mail programs. By default, Outlook 2013 will automatically select an optimal encoding for outgoing e-mail messages. We can change the settings here in Outlook 2013: File > Options > Advanced > International Options section.
    Something you may need to know when you set the encoding settings:
    * The Unicode (UTF-8) character enables the complete range of characters on all computers. It’s the official IANA code for the UTF-8 character encoding.
    * Western European (ISO) and Western European (Windows) character set can be read by almost all computers.
    * If you are using a language other than English, you must choose the correct character set for that language, or the characters you need will not be displayed correctly.

    The "problem" is not really a problem. I send and receive emails fine. But the in the panel between the Inbox (message queue) and the reading pane this is displayed:
    From Mozilla Support Forum <[email protected]> (white star)
    Subject Toad-Hall posted an answer to your question "Why do received email messages show they are addressed to an address other than my own?"
    Reply to [email protected] (white star)
    To [email protected] yellow star)
    cfortso@gmail is the address of one of my contacts.
    This glitch is not really bothersome, I just can't imagine why it happens.

    I got this to work by creating the notification on the job_name.job_subname in this way:
    BEGIN
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.ADD_JOB_EMAIL_NOTIFICATION (
    job_name => 'ChainJob.ChainSubJob',
    recipients => '[email protected]',
    sender => '[email protected]',
    subject => 'Scheduler Job Notification-%job_owner%.%job_name%-%event_type%',
    body => '%event_type%',
    events => 'JOB_FAILED, JOB_BROKEN,JOB_DISABLED,JOB_SUCCEEDED,JOB_SCH_LIM_REACHED');
    END;
    Where ChainSubJob is the Step in your chain that you want alerted on.
    If you aren't sure what you steps are called, you can always view the details by looking at the following - you'll see the JOB_SUBNAME listed here:
    select * from user_scheduler_job_run_details;

  • Email Notifications goto Junk Mail

    Does anyone have a solution for stopping C4T email notifications from going to junk email?
    It happens randomly to people that were fine before.
    I also don't understand why a successful approval goes to junk but a successful audit goes to inbox on the same report.
    Any thoughts would be great.

    Hi Britt,
    unfortunately there is no general solution for your issue:
    If you're relying on the junk filtering of Microsoft Outlook, maybe the information given by Microsoft can help you: Overview of the Junk Email Filter - Outlook . Users can do the necessary changes by themselves, but I guess a configuration can also be provided centrally by your IT department.
    If you are using an anti spam tool for your company like Eleven's eXpurgate, then you have to contact that tool's provider to adjust the criteria for categorizing e-mails as spam.

    This is a classical case of not reading any documentation and going ahead.
    When things go wrong, again don't read the documentation, but jump to OTN specifying as little as possible
    Arabic Windows doesn't tell anything and Oracle 10g is a marketing label.
    Then a series of screenshots on a server no one can reach.
    But I know what happened:
    When you installed Oracle and created a database, it took defaults from Windows, so you get a database in an Arabic characterset. Then all of a sudden you decided to change the characterset of the O/S by changing the locale settings.
    As in Oracle the characterset of the database needs to match the characterset of the O/S, this is not going to work ever. Even if you change NLS_LANG in the registry it still needs to convert between English/US and Arabic. If the characterset of the database is not UTF8, this is doomed to go wrong.
    Either recreate the database in UTF8, or revert the O/S change.
    And BTW: Export is NOT a backup.

    If you need further help you need to specify the database

    Hi Kobayashi,
    The ability to monitor more than 1 mailbox is not currently provided on the N86, useful though it would be as I have 3 mailboxes configured on my handset.
    At present, the only way that you know that mail has arrived in an unmonitored mailbox is if the monitored mailbox total is 0 but the new mail icon "Envelope & @" is displayed at the top of the screen.

  • Mail marks iCal email notifications as junk mail

    I suppose this could be an iCal problem or a Mail problem, but email notifications that come from iCal are marked as junk mail every time. Yes, I have "Sender of message is in my Address Book" checked off in Mail preferences, and my address is listed in Address Book. If I send an email from me to me via Mail it is not marked as junk, but from iCal it is always marked as junk. I found posts about this going back many years, surely there would be a resolution by now?

    Hey there,
    I had the same issue and was able to find the answer in another discussion.
    You just need to highlight the card in Address Book and then choose "Make This My Card" in the "Card" menu.
