I have an office mac and a home PC. I continue to be disappointed by what my ipad cannot do, as intuitive to use as apple products are supposed to be.
Now that I have shoved all my CDs into Itunes at work, you think I would not have to do it again at home when I have the library on my ipad.
iDevices are now and always have been uni-directional for syncing. You sync from the computer to the iDevice. You cannot sync from the iDevice to the computer except if you have downloaded something directly from Apple to your iDevice. Then iTunes will allow you to sync these new acquisitions because they are not in your iTunes Library.
To do any differently requires a third-party utility such as Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac.

The message that came up on both my office and home computer monitors stated that the sync with google calendar could not initialize and "click here" for an explanation. I clicked here, and that linked me to support.google.com. And that said Google was no longer going to support the Google Sync. There was a lot of other gobbledy gook which, to me, said that Google would still let you sync, but you had to sign up for the Google Apps for Business, Education, and Government. It's strictly a google issue - not a Verizon issue. Technically, your HTC actually IS SYNCING FINE but there is nothing to sync because GoogleSync is not doing its job and it is by google's decision.
If you want google calendar sync functionality off web on a desktop (meaning not in a browser), you will need to pay. You can pay google or get an account with an MSExchange host (under $10/month) and get your calendars to sync. However, if you are paying anyway, I would use google. -

I have what should be a simple and common problem:
Home PC with music, apps, books, photos and videos.
Office PC with contacts, calendar, notes.
Notebook which I use when traveling.
How can I connect my devices (iPhone 4 - iPad) to all computers and just have them synced ?
I can forget about the Notebook,which can stay unsynced, but I need to be able to connect my phone to my home and office PCs and still have my data synced.
With the old iTunes I just selected once on each computer what I wanted to get synced and the job was done.
Now with iTunes 10, whenever I connect my phone or iPad to a PC I get all data erased and written again with only the data I have on that particular PC.While it has been possible, in the past, to sync contacts & calendars on more than one computer, Apple has never officially supported such and in fact has warned against doing so. Although I have not tested this with iTunes 10.0, from what you're saying, it would appear that Apple has now formally removed the ability the sync contacts & calendars on more than one computer.

You're welcome.
You can sync or transfer iTunes content only with a compatible Mac or Windows PC and sync other data with a Mac or Windows PC. You can disable automatic syncing and make various selections for syncing content with whichever computer the iPhone is connected to.
A number of folks sync their contact information and calendar events only with Outlook on a Windows PC and all other content with a Mac. -
I just updated my phone to IOS 8.1.3 and I'm having troubles.
None of my music is syncing as well as anything else I try to sync. As for the bar at the bottom of the iphone summary screen there is no Music photos, app or anything its just a big yellow "other" bar even though I have photos and apps on my phone..
How do I fix this??I have the 5s and am still using iOS 8.1.3 and cannot sync anything! It's driving me crazy. My iPad won't sync either which made me think it was my wifi but that is not the issue.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

You can use an external drive with LR but I recommend only using it for
image file storage while keeping your catalog on your internal HD for
performance. If you moved files outside of LR (Finder or Explorer) you will
have to clue LR in on where they are now. Use the left-hand folder panel in
Library mode to navigate to the location on your external drive and use the
find photo option get LR to reconnect them. If you moved the catalog and
now LR can't find it you should get a window allowing you to select a new
one where you can navigate to the new location and select it. You can also
just start LR by clicking on the Lightroom 5 catalog.lrcat file to open it
and start LR. -

I synced my ipod to my computer and all my music disappeared. I tryed resyncing it and it would only sync my apps and not my music. I cant add music to my ipod. I something wrong with the USB port in the IPOD, the USB Cord, or ITUNES itself. Itunes still shows that all my music is there on my ipod. Itunes is recognizing that my ipod is connected, but it doesnt recognize that theres no music on my ipod anymore. Im so sad. Someone please help me. I miss my music.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.
The ipod is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content of your computer.
As the music came from your computer in the first place, it should still be there and in your backup copy of your computer. -

My iPad will not charge, it can sync to iTunes and transfer data/music to it, but when plugged in to a USB or an A/C wall adapter all it says is not charging.
A lot of computers (especially older ones) generally do not provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.
In terms of the wall charger, have you tried a different charger and/or cable, or do you know anybody else with an iPad so that you can try their charger and cable and they can try yours ?
Have you tried a reset to see if it charges after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
i was given an ipod by a friend due to them buying a newer ipod. I want to transfer the music that is currently on the ipod to my itunes without having to sync my ipod and delete the music. Any suggestions?

It is crazy but in the apple store they set up the icloud for me and then I started sync the iphone against the icloud and i had some photos in streaming because they recommended to do like that. After that, the space got not enough and they asked for more more to increase the space, so I decided to come back to the previous method and sync my iphone with itunes via usb. Well, the email address that i had for my apple id became unavailable so i had to create a new account this time with gmail and since then, i cannot sync my iphone. I have done it today and i have lost my contacts and the calendar is no ,onger sync. I am using outlook to manage my mail and when I look for the i cloud it asks me for the old email address which no longer exists and does not match with the current one.
