HT1212 My ipad is locked and it is displaying "ipad is disabled: connect to itunes".i have tried connecting to itunes but not much joy doing so. Can you help please.
My two year son was playing with the ipad and must have input the wrong passcode too many times. As a result, the ipad was disabled with further message to connect to itunes. I cannot remember if the ipad was synced with my laptop from the outset. Can you please assist with which way to go about in order to enable the ipad as it is not even allowing me to input the passcode hence l cannot access the ipad so far.

How did the photos get onto the SD card that you are using ? Photos (and videos) on the card will only be recognised if the card has a DCIM directory off the root of it, and the photos are underneath that directory and their filenames are exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus their file extension (that should be how most digital cameras write photos to a card).

I deleted and re downloaded Firefox 5 using my VPN "Astrill" linked "from Australia" but it still happens. Can you assist, as a lot of the downloads I create have Mandarin instructions in them. I can't get adobe Flash 10 to work here in China either, but FF and A10 were both working prior to leaving Australia when I used xp. ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I have iCloud successfully set up my Mac and iPhone iPad. Mac will not transfer to my other devices. Other devices transfer successfully. I have checked my iCloud setting on my Mac, but cannot see a problem. Can you help me?
If you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar on it via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC - when connected (and if your computer's iTunes is up-to-date) your iPad should then appear on that sidebar under a 'Devices' heading :
If you select the iPad on that sidebar you can then use the Movies tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync that film to your iPad's Videos app.

You can only create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher. After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using this ID on your PC.

Apple iPAD 2. Needs password to unlock iPAD; however there is a permanent keyboard displayed on the screen that does not respond to touch. iPAD switches on with button but does not turn off using it at moment. Can you help please?
Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears. See if that clears the glitch.

If you don't remember the restrictions passcode, your only option is to force the phone into recovery mode and restore it as a new device.
Do NOT restore your backup. The restrictions settings are part of the backup.
