Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
Snow Leopard General Requirements
1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
2. 1GB of memory
3. 5GB of available disk space
4. DVD drive for installation
5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
fees may apply.
6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
terms apply.
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

Some documents, but not others, that I've created/edited/printed and worked with JUST RECENTLY suddenly won't open UNLESS I get the new version of Pages (for $20!!) I just edited some of these a couple of days ago! I edited one, printed it, etc. Now I need to look at it again and it WON'T open! I "need the new version of Pages??! What if I don't want to suddenly shell out $20 to work with documents I made on the version I already have? And why do SOME documents now look different (in a new style) while others look like they always have, and function normally?
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

in the old version at the bottom of the sceen it displayed the total number of media and the size of the files. how can i get the new version to diplay this?

Imovie-how do i get the new version on my new mac???
Sounds strange I know but when I transfered the contents of my old imac to my new imac via the cable it has also transfered across the old version of imovie. If I set up a new user I can open the new version of imovie but my profile doesn't recognise the new version of imovie. Does anyone know how I can get the new version of imovie onto my current profile which was imported from my old imac?

The Outlook Plugin for Adobe Send supports Outlook 2010 and 2013. There are no plans to make it compatible with Outlook 2007, since it's a much older version.

Are you sure you have the newest version of iTunes 11 and newest version of iOS6? Go to Software Update and make sure you do.

Does this happen with every file you try to send or any specific one?

Hard drive packed up, but had Time Machine backup. I installed new ssd and upgraded to Mountain Lion, but I can't find iPhoto library and photos or iTunes songs? Is there an answer to this? A backup run did not install either photos or songs. Graham
Thanks so much but none of that helped. It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive. I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!

I really need HELP!!! I have a laptop that runs with windows vista, and I have been having issues trying to get it to download the new version of itunes that would be compatible to the new version of ios 7 that I have already updated on my ipad. I have downloaded this three times, it shows that the download is complete, but when I connect my ipad to my laptop it is still telling me that I have to download the new version again and it will not sync with my ipad until I do. Now there is an issue on Apple's server that seems to keep users with 10.6.8 from downloading Yosemite. Apple is working on the problem, so be patient and keep trying
