Compressor is not working. When I export to compressor from FCP to encode DVD, FCP freezes and Compressor appears to be working but the progress bar never fills no files are created. Do you have any filters applied to your clips?
This happened to me before, I accidently had applied a broadcast safe filter to a color matte that was black....
I figured it out by duplicating my sequence and deleting items from my timeline 1 by 1 until I was able to export a reference movie.
Anywho, export again, this time with "self contained" movie selected.
Then try to import to Compressor. -
I have recently bought an iPhone 4S and I am trying to install iOS7. The install initially failed and I received an error message. I attempted a restore, however, the progress bar is now stuck at "Restoring iPhone software.."
I'm still attempting to restore it, but the process goes as follows
- Extracting software.
- Waiting for iphone.
- Preparing iphone software for restore.
- Verifying iphone software.
- Restoring iPhone software.

It can be a long download, so keep trying. My first download was at 3 am Cupertino time and took less than an hour. The second took close to three hours one evening.

I've just bought a Macbook Pro 15" and I'm trying to use Photoshop, but the resolution its displaying the images at for 100% are too small. I have to design for the web, so need to be intricate with detail, but I'm finding it adjusts the resolution of the image right down. (I mean you can see the image clearly, but it's too small to edit). When I look at Safari and see a web page at 100% it's clear, but the same page displayed in Photoshop CC appears 50% of the size (even though it says it's 100%) If I move the application window to another screen it adjusts it correctly – leaving all the pallettes, menus and tools correctly sized as they are on the retina display Is there some way to adjust the way Photoshop CC displays images so it is more consistent with what you actually see? I tested both ways. With "open in low resolution" ckecked the size of the images is cool, but it is low-resolution including Photoshop appearance.
If "open in low resolution" is unckecked the appearance is good but the very small size.
See the image below. It has 650 x 732 px, 72 dpi. The font of the text "Neste aniversário ..." is with 18pt. -

When I try to format an external usb drive the progress bar gets to half way then freezes , or stops and what ever time I allow it never gets any futher on , I have to go to the task bar and click quit to get on and the usb drive is not formatted is there a fault with my disk utility program I have updated the system
to lion 10.7.2

Drive Preparation
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
Steps 4-6 are optional but should be used on a drive that has never been formatted before, if the format type is not Mac OS Extended, if the partition scheme has been changed, or if a different operating system (not OS X) has been installed on the drive. -
MacBook Pro, 2012, can't get past boot up screen and the progress bar never fills.
Any thoughts on why or a different command that I can try while powering up?
I press the power button, and it dings per usual. Then the first gray screen pops up and it starts spinning. Then a progress bar appears. It fills about a quarter of the way, and then the screen goes black and the computer shuts down.

The progress Bar appears when your Boot drive will not mount. It runs a task similar to Disk Utility (Repair disk) and shows you the progress. It is normal for the bar to only fill less than a third of the way.
If your Mac then shuts down, this is because the Repairs could not be completed. Your Boot Drive (either the mechanism or the contents) is in trouble.
Try booting to Recovery Mode, and attempt to make the repairs form there.
If no joy, buy a drive that could replace your Internal drive, and an enclosure to place it in while you Install a new copy of Mac OS X form fundamental sources. Making a complete copy of a drive you know to be damaged is not generally helpful, but may be needed later if you do not have a Backup.
The advice to erase your drive should be ignored. It was invented long ago, when drives cost US$1000, and the prize was getting the drive mechanism working again. -
Mail is checked continuously. The "thinking circle" never goes away
The little "thinking circle" right beside the 3g label in the top left hand corner never goes away in my mail app. This just started happening within the past week. This wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't chewing up my battery and bandwidth. Does anyone know why this might be happening or how I can make it stop?
I have mail set to check every 15 minutes, but it just keeps checking continuously. I check yahoo and gmail accounts.My Ipad started doing the same thing this past week(5-6 times,and I am on manual), I tried switching app's and going back and it was still running. Are you using WiFi? if you are this will take a long time, switching to a wired connection will go much faster but as you have started I would not change now. -
Itunes says "update complete" but "do not disconnect" never goes away!
So, I wait and wait and "do not disconnect" on my ipod never goes away.
A little history:
I got my nano a few weeks ago, put a few songs on - everything worked fine. Then, I got a new computer. Since I only put a few songs on, I didnt mind starting from scratch. Now, I can't seem to get it to work!? I have songs in itunes. when i click on my ipod, it shows that i have songs on the ipod, it SAYS the update is complete, my ipod shows "do not disconnect" i wait for ages, and then finally just eject the ipod, and - NO SONGS are on it.

Windows XP ProDo not disconnect always on, this happens when you have "enable disk use" ticked in the iPod preferences, in which case you have to manually eject your iPod.
However if you are automatically updating your iPod and do not intend using it as a portable hard drive, you can set your iPod to automatically disconnect.
Connect your iPod and in iTunes go to Preferences>iPod. Under the Music tab see if you have your iPod set to automatically sync with iTunes and also have a tick in the box marked “enable disk use". Remove this tick and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished updating.
If you have your iPod set to manual update, the box will be greyed out and ticked by default, in that case use Safely remove Hardware icon or check this link: "Disconnecting iPod from your computer
