HT1349 my purchaces dont all appear in i tunes. where do i find them?

I have bought a bunch of audiobooks that dont seem to appear in Itunes.. how do i put them back in my library?

If you have the audiobooks on your iPhone, you can transfer them from it to the computer using iTunes. It's done through the File menu in iTunes, see this Apple doc for the details -> iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
Audiobooks have different liscesing restrcitions than other media types, so they can't be downloaded again.

    chflags nohidden ~/Library
    Press RETURN.
    B. Click on the Desktop, press the OPTION (⌥) button, select Library from the Finder's Go menu.

I appear to have deleted a year's worth of emails from Entourage. Where do I find them?

Without further information, it's literally impossible to answer your question. However, here are a few general approaches.
First, do you have ANY backups? Anything at all? Time Machine, a manual backup of some kind. If so, check there.
Second, have you checked the Trash in Entourage? If not, I'd take a look there. What kind of email account is this? If it's POP, is there any chance the mail is still on your mail server?

The old machine was running OS 10.5.8.  Not all my files transferred (or I can't find them).  I've seen recommendations to select the old computer in System Preferences, but that didn't work.  Help.  Thanks!

IMO, wrong choice. Start over, using a FireWire cable and following the steps in Pondini's Setup New Mac guide.

-Connect your iPhone with your Computer
    -Open iTunes
-If a notification for restoring from an older backup appers, do that
-If not, do right-click your iPhone (you fond your iPhone on the left side of the iTunes window) and choose "Restore from an older Backup " (I'm not sure if t's exactly named like this, because my iTunes is in German)
Let me know if it works

    Welcome to the Apple community.
The apps you have purchased for your mobile device will not work on a computer. You will need to download the appropriate versions on your Mac from the Mac apps store.

There are two ways to view ITHMB files. The first is to convert them to a more standard format, such as JPEG. You can try doing this with the help of the free utility, ithmbconv. The second way is to use the program iThmb Converter. It will let you view files without converting.

  • All my foto's are dissapear can't find them back

All my photo's are gone and can't find them back anywhere. Does anybody know how i can find them back?

Open your library with the Finder as shown in this screenshot:
Go the the Masters folder and check inside its subfolder to see if the original files are in there.  If not then your photos are gone. If the original files are in those sub folder do the following:
Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
    1. Open the library package like this.
    2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note:  your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

  • My ipod classic will not sync all of my games. Says it cant find them when they are there

My ipod recently stopped syncing all of my games. The message says that itunes cant find them when they are where they always were. Can anyone help me with this issue? I have tried uninstalling everything and then reinstalling and nothing works. Three of my fourteen games will not sync, and they are the ones that I play the most.

    Hello bardwell,
Try rebooting your computer to see if that makes a difference.  Otherwise, use the Get Info window for these games to determine where they should be located on your PC.  Then navigate out to that location to see if they are actually still there.

  • Suddenly ALL loops disappeared - where do I find them?

My mac crashed and for some strange reason all Apple loops were gone? How do I restablish them?
Macintosh   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Dobb. 2 GHz powerPC G5 /1.5GB DDR SDRAM

Sorry to be a dunce, but I am technically challenged and can't figure out how to do what you suggest.  However, my lightroom now only lists three things under "Catalog" and basically only the 16 folders that didn't disappear are there, so I suspect it isn't just the fact that I opened the wrong catalog.  It would seem, then, that for some unknown reason, my folders have been removed.  So, the question is, how do I find them and put them back into lightroom?

  • Why dont all my  e mails downloading so I can read them?

I have been using my new mac for about 3 months, i am taking things slowly so dont want to download stuff i dont need or fiddle with settings I dont understand. The problem I have is that I cannot read some of my e mails on my mac. They fully download script & pictures on the server and also on my ipad 3 and my i phone 4 but about 10% will only show as "computer speak" on my mac. I have tried looking at the settings on Yahoo allowing all content from all known senders. On the last occasion I received 2 e mails from the same company, one was fine I could read it and download the attachment, the other just read like programmers language with lots of highlighted links and although an attachment was sent it did not show on the e mail.
This can occur on a daily basis, I have no problem receiving private e mails but only those from companies. Yesterday I had 2 from Amazon, 1 was fine the other not, it appears random. If I open the e mails on my ipad,or i phone they are perfect, pictures and script.
Is there a setting I have got wrong, its driving me mad. I did ask one of the apple advisors while sorting out another problem but he just said it was a server problem! Thanks

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the text on the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • I have had to "re-instate" "Mail" on my 5yr old Macbook Pro after it got "lost"during an s/w upgrade to Snow Leopard v10.6.8. In reinstated version all my Email archive folders are now missing from the screen. How/where do I find them ??

I recently purchased Snow Leopard v10.6.3 in order to upgrade the OSX platform on my 5 year old Macbook Pro. That loaded without trouble. Then I needed to do an online upgrade from 10.6.3 to 10.6.8 (via 10.6.4) and there the trouble commenced !! Somewhere along the way, the "Mail" application simply disappeared! On advice from Apple telephone support, I did a "selective" reinstall of "Mail" from the Snow Leopard disk, but the version of Mail it loaded (v4.5) was wrong for use with OSX v10.6.8 and so it kept asking for the 'latest" version (v4.6) and just would not work. I tried a "Fix" download provided on the Apple site, that didn't work.
I spent 2 hours at the Genius Bar of my local Apple Store and they finally found a fix, after some difficulty. Apparently there had been a programming error somewhere in one of the Apple update downloads.
So now I have "Mail" back - but the Mailbox folders now not as they were before - particularly they do not contain my archive Folders that I had been using to store certain historic emails.
I think the folder structure on "Mail" is now identical to that on my "BT Yahoo" screen - whereas before they had been different. My local Apple Store told me that it was practice now to synchronise the "Mail" screen and (for example) the BT Yahoo screen to be identical. This is well and good going forward - but does not help me with access to my historic "email filing system" !!
Anyone help me find those missing folders ??  They must be stored somewhere, but where ??!!
    Cheers

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

  • I recently upgraded my Firefox. Since then I've last all my saved bookmarks and am unable to find them. I'm also unable to add new bookmarks.

After upgrading my firefox I have lost all of my bookmarks. I've tried the fixes on your help page and got nowhere. I tried to do a system restore to before the upgrade and it made no difference. Sometimes on this firefox 3.6.10 it will not bookmark pages that I select. I really need my previous bookmarked pages. Please help.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
