HT1351 iTunes won't sync a tv show to my iPod Classic

I just bought a new tv show from iTunes the other day. When I connect my ipod classic to iTunes, it automtically adds all new media that I've download to iTunes. But now I get this alert message telling me that the tv show I just bought, on iTunes, can not be copied. I have never had this happen before. I tried to restore my iPod to factory settings hoping to fix the issue that way, but I get an error message saying that the "The iPod software update server could not be contacted."
So anyone know how to fix this problem??

This is what it says. You don't have to convert it.
All HD purchases from the iTunes Store also include an iPod/iPhone-compatible Standard Definition version to accompany the HD version. When syncing an HD purchase from the iTunes Store, iTunes will automatically sync the SD video for devices that require SD content.
If this doesn't work, I don't know what the problem is. You could try deleting from iTunes and re-downloading the item from the store. (in iTunes: STORE > Purchased > Download Previous Purchases.)

  • ITunes Won't Sync T.V. Show to iPod Classic

All of my videos have been converted to a specifically Classic 5th-Gen compatible MP4 format, and I've had no problem at all with all of the HUNDREDS of others in my iTunes library. But for some reason, one particular show just simply will not sync to my iPod, and I'm at a loss as to why.
Once again: None of my videos were bought from the iTunes store, and the dimensions, container, decryption, and absolutely all details about the video formatting is identical to the many, many other videos which have worked flawlessly as they were all created in exactly the same way, so file parameters should not be the culprit here.
I have my library set to sync only checked videos (due to space limitations) and have checked and double checked and triple-checked that this particular TV show is indeed checked when the iPod is synced. I've tried deleting all of the videos from the iPod and then syncing JUST this show, to no avail; I've also tried deleting and resyncing ALL the shows. No matter what I seem to do, iTunes simply will not sync this show. I don't get an "iPod will not play this file" error message or any kind of error message at all, and the videos play perfectly fine in iTunes. When I sync, the episodes just don't sync--they don't appear in the iTunes header saying "Syncing video 1 of 13" or whatever the numbers may be, and the sync says it finishes immediately. I'm really at a loss here.
The iPod is (I'm pretty sure) a 5th Gen iPod Classic, and the show is the first season of Metalocalypse. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?

I FOUND A SOLUTION. at least, I was having the same problem as yall, and I found a solution that worked for me, I hope it helps yall too.
My issue was that music would sync to my devices, but some of the playlists would not have all of the songs in them that they should have had. I looked at the playlists, that I was having issues with, and they were all complex smart playlists. Meaning they had multiple levels of conditions in the smart playlist settings, and itunes 10 does not seem to suppor that. To fix it, I went through all of those smart playlists and made new smart playlists that had the same (or as similar as I could get them) conditions to my old playlists. I then re-synced my devices and all my songs appeared in my playlists.
I dont know why, but itunes 10 no longer supports some of the smart playlist rules that older versions of itunes did, so hopefully updating your smart playlists will fix this problem.
    Best of luck guys.
P.S. if you dont know what I mean by 'complex' smart playlist, here is an example of what I mean:

  • Games suddenly won't sync b/c authorization issues on ipod classic

    Hi,
I have an ipod classic which I sync every few months with my Mac Book Pro 15".
I at the time, was using an older version of ITunes (like 7.1).
Well, recently I decided to sync it and after all my games (not the free ones) will no longer sync on my ipod. I get the error message about it not having authorization for them on this computer.
I don't understand this because I haven't changed computers, operating systems, or ipods and it was working fine before.
    I tried:
    - Restoring the ipod
    - upgrading to 10
    - making sure the ipod software was upgraded
    - authorized my computer
-deauthorized my computer (it says there is only one computer on the acct out of 5)
    - unathorized all other computers on the server
The only two things left that I can think of is that I have been using my aol id for the longest time for all the games that I purchased. A few weeks ago on my husband's computer, it wouldn't play one song and I entered in my aol acct login and it forced me to update it to a mac id login. Weeks later I logined in to my computer with the same mac id login. Tonight I deauthorized my husband's (though it said it was never authorized).
I don't know what else to do.
It really ***** to buy all these games and then not be able to play them.
If anyone has any tips or suggestions, or even has had this problem and solved it, any help would be appreciated. thank you.

I have this same problem. When I sync my ipod I get the message that my purchased songs etc. will not be synced because this computer is not authorized. So I authorized the computer and it tells me the computer is already authorized. So what to do?
I just downloaded 10.x because apparently the 8.x had problems that I just figured was related to the installation have not used my pod for almost a year. Everything else is fine just not getting these songs.
    We need help.

  • My iTunes won't sync all my songs with my iPod

I'm using auto sync, just like I always have, and the box is checked to sync all songs with the iPod. If you check the bar at the bottom of the sync page, it *thinks* all 5000+ songs are on the iPod, and there's plenty of room left. But when you play one of the songs on the iPod, it says playing 1 of 800. Some of my songs are unchecked to not sync, but we're talking 100 max. So how do I get the missing 4,100 songs to copy??
The iPod is an iPod touch with iOS 5.1.1; Mac is using OS 10.9.1; iTunes version 11.1.3.

Have you tried performing a restore on the iPod?

  • I have plenty of mg available on my phone but itunes won't sync saying there is not enough room on my phone.  In usage it shows me exactly what how much storage I have used and how much  is available and I have plenty available.

  • HT1351 Songs won't sync properly and I don't know how to fix it. Help!

I keep trying to sync my music to my iPhone but some of the songs aren't uploading properly and when trying to listen to them, my phone will just skip over them and they won't play. When looking at the songs on my playlists they show up as gray and there is a red square with a circle around it like it is syncing. Also iTunes won't sync any of my playlists anymore even though it says, on my iTunes account, that they are uploaded to my phone. What should I do?

I have the same issue: my playlists are not showing up on my iphone. The old playlist are there and the music is there but the playlists will not update. I'm hoping someone has an answer?

  • My iTunes won't sync music to my iphone 4

My iTunes won't sync music on to my iPhone 4. It syncs music on to my ipod 3rd gen, but not my iPhone. All my software is up to date, and all my settings are correct, but nothing seems to work. I've tried, turning my phone off and on, restoring my phone, restarting my computer, unchecking and checking my music, and nothing seems to work. I only have one playist with all the songs I want onto my iPhone, because my whole iTunes library doesnt fit onto it. Another note, it was working perfectly fine yesterday and this morning. But earlier today, my music only showed 3 artists, 2 albums, and 622 songs (which is how much I should have on there), and I tried re-syncing my iPhone, and now there's no music on there at all. Please help, music is the main thing I use my phone for, and its gonna make me go crazy if I dont fix this.

I know that most of these posts were put up a little while ago
    But.
I too had a similar problem - my thoughts were:
Something to do with update to IOS 7.4
    Corruption
    Itunes software issue
After a LOT of research, I found a simple step that solved this issue for me.
I had been running my sync (pre - IOS 7.4) as automatic - see the options section under the summary tab
I changed my selection to manually manage music and videos and tried another sync
    Wha La!
It began to copy over 700 songs that had not properly synced to my Ipad 2
BONUS: it then started to sync my videos again.
    Hope this helps somebody.
It certainly made my life less frustrating
Downside: I have to MANUALLY manage - but it's better than all the hassles
NB: I don't know why this error occurs and I'm not sure this fix will work for everyone's issues but it can't hurt.

  • ITunes won't sync but iPod working...?

I downloaded the most recent iTunes and tried to sync my iPod (an 80 gig with video, fyi). iTunes said it needed to restore, that the iPod was corrupt, etc.; I did as it said and waited for the iPod to restart... just to have iTunes say it needed to restore again. After repeating the process a few times I unplugged the iPod and found that it was asking for a language and that it showed the menu options and the games worked, but because it had been restored there was no music on it. Now iTunes won't sync it but the iPod itself is turning on and doesn't show any music (except for, you know, the lack of music.)
It is important to know, I guess, that my iPod hasn't been working perfectly lately; she's been freezing up, won't play some songs, working sluggishly... Last night she was particularly diifficult and after restarting a few times refused to play more than one or two songs (before freezing.)
I can't think of any time I've dropped her from anymore than a few inches off whatever surface, and every time she was in her case so I doubt that had anything to do with it...
Can anyone help? I thought it might just be a problem with the new iTunes so I don't want to send her in for service just yet, but the sooner she's fixed, the better.
Thank you ver much in advance!

    Hi there,
Have you tried the 5 R's that Apple recommend trying?
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303940
It sounds like you could do with going through them - make sure that you have the very latest iTunes software before starting.
    I hope this helps.

  • My iTunes won't sync and I can't download an app onto my iPhone 4S. It's been really bad since the update!

    Hi,
    Two problems here guys
    1. My iTunes won't sync. Since the update to iTunes 11 it refuses to transfer purchaces from my iPhone 4S and won't put stuff from my phone into my iTunes library and I can't put anything on my phone through my laptop. Both the laptop and the phone say that they are syncing but nothing actually happens
    2. As the Avengers Initiative app is currently free I decided to try and download it straight on to my phone, but every time I try it says I don't have enough memory, even though I deleted stuff especially so I could download this and I now have 3.6 GB free, so I downloaded it on to my iTunes on my computer, but of course my iTunes won't sync
I've reinstalled iTunes twice and it hasn't worked!
    Somebody help please

Same problem, any assistance would be appreciated.
    thanks

Need some help: my itunes won't sync with my iphone anymore. Both softwares are up to date and I've reinstalled itunes. After I reinstall, it syncs. But then when I reboot my computer, it no longer syncs anymore and I have to keep reinstalling itunes. Thoughts???

thought that it was possible to have the same iTunes library on any machine that was authorised, a kind of cloud-iTunes I guess.
That would convenient, but sadly it is not the case. Sorry!
Either way your welcome and best of luck!

''I was experiencing the same problem and tried all sorts of stuff, including items in this thread with no luck, this is what ultimately worked for me.
    1.  Download iFunBox (or other utility that gives you access to the filesystem)
    2.  Delete the _iTunes_Control folder
    3.  Delete everything in the Purchases folder
    4.  Force a sync in itunes
    5.  Profit.
So far I haven't seen any weird problems, other than my songs now sync.''
