I have upgraded itunes on m computer to 10.5. When I connected my iphone to the computer I was told that ios 5 is ready to be downloaded, and that I should back up my iphone before doing the download. I did. Now I want to get my iphone back on and it just can't . The screen lights up, i select language and network but it tells me that my phone cannot be activated because the activation service is temporarily unavailable. what do i do?
Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message.

Hi Rick,
by "repair" I mean I went to the control panel, option - programs and features, and in the list of all my installed programs I selected "Apple Software Update". On top of the screen you find the options Uinstall, Change and Repair. I clicked the repair button and that did the trick. After the repair I could uninstall the program. I also uninstalled iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support en Bonjour, thus all Apple programs. Then I installed iTunes 10.5 again and everything went fine.

I have a MacBook with OS X 10.5.8 and I purchased a Mtn Lion OS up grade and it keeps telling me to install via the Mac App Store, but I can't get the Mac App Store installed on the MacBook it wants at least 10.6.6 so I seem to be stuck . Help

Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

What do I do? I have already downloaded OS Yosemite (it says so on my Apple>About this mac>overview) but now I keep getting a message from "install Yosemite" that keeps asking me to install Yosemite again and won't go away.
I have the same issue. My computer has also slowed down. I hope this isn't a malware. I haven't input my password into it, and dont know what I did to turn this on.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

You cannot use iCloud Storage to suppliment your iPad. It doesn't work that way.

Every time I try to download the new version it just says I can not download the new version of Firefox. I keep getting a message that says "Firefox 5.0.1dmg could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred - Try saving to disk first and then opening the file"
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

My iPhone 3G 16gb in white: I did all the things you mentioned, but it just keep looping the Apple logo and doesn't turn off until it is out of battery, and I am using a MacBook Pro 15inch Unibody if that does matter

Check to see if you have a folder named "Backups.backupdb" at the root level of your hard disk. That can cause this error message.

I keep getting the message: Your account is not valid for use in the US Store. You must switch to the Canadian Store before purchasing. I have selected the Canadian store, but still keep getting the same message. Any suggestions?

Are you certain that you are signed onto iTunes & Apps in the Canadian store?
Settings>iTunes & App Stores, click on your AppleID, and then click on View AppleID. Type in your password, then click on Country/Region. Once there, follow the prompts and then select the Canadian Flag.
