Have you made a back up of your iPhone on iTunes/iCloud when the contacts were on it?

I just got a message on my computer and my phone that an ex girlfriend of mine's phone was just added to my imessage account. For obvious reasons, I'm not okay with that. I just messaged her on facebook and double checked if the name of the phone sent to me is the label of her phone, and it was. She then sent me a screen shot of her phone's imessage settings page though saying that its only connected to her account. I dont believe that she is lying to to me, but I dont believe my computer is either. Is there a way I can double check what devices are linked to my accccount and remove one if need be?

The only "accounts" on iMessage are the accounts you have set up. Open iMessage, from the top toolbar click on Messages>Preferences>Accounts
There you will see what accounts are set up on your iMessage app. If your ex-girlfriend is still set up in your Contacts, you may want to remove her from there.

Thanks so much Meg. Unfortunately, iTunes is the program I use to perform syncing. I don't really have other outside options. It is also the location of the backup I would use to restore my phone, and my only way to reclaim important data. I am concerned that, since the last backup occurred when the "other" bar was only moderately huge (around 29G I think), that a backup would replicate the problem back onto my phone.
My contacts, etc. are all in address book and the calendar app on my Mac. As far as I know, iTunes is the way to get them back, but iTunes is where the problem is.
Any thoughts on this? -

The update takes a LONG time... but with the new system, you can keep using your phone during the update, so it doesnt FEEL like it is updating...
you have probably interrupted the update, just like I did
plug your phone in... "continue the update" or hit the sync button to psh it in... and leave it there
unless you have enabled sync over wifi (which still only works when you are plugged in)
just be patient... and there shouldbe a flashing "synching" symbol at the top of your phone screen -

About a month ago I couldn't access 100s of pix from my iPhoto library. I then went through the process of "re-finding" all missing pix. I 2x checked that they opened. Now, I'm having the same original problem! What's iPhoto doing with my pix? Is there a "batch" fix?
Try rebuilding the library.
Hold down the Option and Command keys then launch iPhoto.
Select: Repar the iPhoto Library Database
Click Rebuild. -
Started a similar string before. When I select a recipient in Messages on my Macbook Pro the name shows up in red and says the recipient is no longer registered on iMessage. I know that they are registered. Is there a problem with Contacts possibly. The previous help has been appreciated but the problem persists.

Try iMessaging your own iPhone and see if your account is actually logged in.
It can appear "enabled" and On line but sometimes it is not.
Also try sending from your iPhone (number) to your Apple ID and see if it gets to the Mac.
If it does not use the Sign Out button.
Then shut down the Mac
On restart add back the Apple ID to the iMessages account settings.
I also just checked My wife's iPhone as she popped up red.
It turned out her iPhone did not have Messages On.

If you do not have a back, you can select first track on list in song view, from menu > edit > select all. Next ctrl+click and select download from pop up. You may wish to do this in small batches as it will take some time to download.

Hi I recently bought a pair of earpods for my 3rd Gen ipod shuffle only the remote does not work, so i exchanged them from an unhelpful member of staff from Currys who said the problem could be my device. So i just tested the new ones and the same problem again! I already checked that they are compatible so i don't understand why the remote doesn't work. I synced my iPhone today to get the new version 1.1.3 and it was going well until I noticed that my phone service wasn't working. I powered the phone off and powered back on and now all I get is a screen that says "slide for emergency" and all I can do is make an emergency call??????
Ok -- problem solved but I don't know why.
After iTunes gave me that error message, I noticed it showed my iPhone under devices so I clicked on sync. That gave me a new message on iTunes that said it couldn't read my SIM card and to go to the AT&T store to get a new one. Out of frustration I removed the phone from the dock and then put it back in the dock...this time I got a message on my phone that it had been updated and when I clicked the slider it wanted my passcode. And my phone service appears to be fine.
But.. to avoid this scare next time...I assume I should leave the phone plugged into the computer until I get the "phone is updated" message ON the phone. Correct?
