See above
It sounds like you need the driver for your Ipad to be installed. If you're using a hub or extender, stop and plug it directly into the box. Try a different USB port. If you haven't already, update your iTunes to the latest version.
Worst case, uninstall and reinstall iTunes

My iPad will not let me download an iTunes movie due to lack of space but I purchased more space and it still won't work
As stated above - purchasing more space in iCloud has nothing to do with this. You do not have enough space left on the iPad for the movie to download, you need to delete content on the device itself.
You may want to transfer purchases to iTunes and then delete some content on the device to make room.
Transfer purchases.

This article explains how to delete content from the device

Do not delete any important content without backing up, transferring purchases or transferring files to your computer. -
My first genteration ipad will not power on after update. I have tried connecting to the authorized computer which won't recognize it - does not acknowledge a device is plugged in. I have pushed top and circle buttons at same time. It had a battery charge before it died. I tried to stop the upload midway and am afraid it 'crashed'
Try putting it into recovery mode.
Connect iPad to your computer via USB while it's turned on.
Open iTunes
Hold the iPad's Sleep/Wake switch (power button on the top of the iPad) down until the "power off" slider appears.
Power off the iPad completely (wait for the progress spinner to disappear).
Hold the Sleep/Wake switch AND the Home button down for a full 10 seconds.
After 10 seconds (the second time you'll see the Apple logo on the screen) release the Sleep/Wake switch while still holding the Home button.
Continue to hold the Home button for another 10 seconds until the USB connection image appears on the iPad's screen, then release the Home button.
A pop-up message will appear on iTunes saying it has detected an iPad in recovery mode, you must restore...
Click on the "Restore" button and the process will begin. -
IPad will not connect to pc or iTunes, I get a double ping when I connect the USB cable
My iPad will not connect to either my PC or iTunes. When I plug in the USB cable I get a double ping from the PC. Any Suggestions?
I have never heard of this "double ping" issue in the before. You say it is coming from the PC so maybe it is a USB problem on the computer. I assume that you have tried another USB port on the PC. You could also try another computer that is running iTunes and see what happens.
I am not a PC user, so the only other thing I can offer is a link to the Apple support site for an iOS device not being recognized in iTunes for Windows.

The ipod has been working erratically for the last few weeks. Stops playing mid-song, takes forever to load the next song on shuffle mode. Today, stopped playing altogether. When I tried to reset, I got an orange circle with a X in it and the support web addaress. I can't find anything on the support site that references the x'd circle. Any ideas? Is this thing toast?
Hi Crystal Newkirk,
I've come across the following information which may be helpful. If you are seeing the red "X" icon on the display, we will need to restore your iPod from Disk Mode.
iPod Displays a Red "X" Icon

Restore iPod from Disk Mode
Disconnect iPod from your computer.
Manually put iPod into Disk Mode.
Open the latest version of iTunes and connect iPod.
Restore iPod.

- I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Anyone have any ideas what phone I should get?
Hi all
I'm a little confused as to what phone meets all my requirements. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Here are my criteria:
iSync compatible (see below though).
Address book that can hold snail, e-mail and phone numbers.
SMS via Address book.
Clamshell design, preferably without a joystick as I always seem to break them.
Can display notes from iCal as well as alarms and dates.
Regards
Stephen
Dual 1.8 G5 Mac OS X (10.4.6)I recently purchased a Sony Ericsson W600i and have been extremely pleased with its seamless integration with iSync (2.2) and Bluetooth File Exchange. Address Book information (phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, birthdays, etc) along with iCal entries transfer without fail over the Bluetooth connection.
In addition, I use GarageBand to create ringtones and the SE W600i accepts both MP3 and M4A tones. In addition, Sony Ericsson offers their ThemesCreator software on the Mac as well (PPC based). I've been amazed at how easily everythings works together to well. Also, the W600i has a Walkman function built in and will play ripped (not purchased) iTunes music was well, although the transfer is manual (I've seen some iTunes scripts to support automated transfer but haven't checked them out yet)
All in all, especially with my Windows background, I'm amazed at how easy the Mac and SE work together.
You mentioned your interest in a clamshell - the W600i is a swivel, not clamshell. Originally, I was a little hesitant to go with a swivel, but with a built-in FM radio, I decided to give the W600i a try. Obviously, I'm quite pleased!

I have windows 7 professional. My son is taking an online class (digital photography) which uses Blackboard 8 Academic Suite. Last week photos stopped uploading successfully. Blackboard's solution is to use Firefox 2.0.0.20. I had to uninstall Firfoz 3.6.9, and install the earlier version from a link provided by Blackboard. It worked, however Firefox popped up a message saying that this version is no longer supported and that I should update to 3.6
Depending upon which version of WebCT your school is using, you will have to use Firefox 3.5.x, Firefox 3.0.x, or Firefox 2.0.0.20 when accessing the Blackboard site.
My advice is to install the Firefox Portable version that you need for Blackboard on your computer, and use that installation only for Blackboard. Continue to use 3.6 for all other web browsing.

I recently purchased an iphone4 after owning a itouch for several years.after syncing ,only 37 out of over 500 contacts came across to the new phone.any ideas what i'm doing wrong
Did you already try to reset the sync history?
If you find that some of your data syncs to your device but you see an unexpected number of changes or modifications, you may need to reset your sync history. This causes iTunes to prompt to Merge or Replace information on the device when you next attempt to sync your information. To reset your Sync History:
Open iTunes.
From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
Click the Devices tab.
Click the Reset Sync History button.

Ipad mini screen keeps moving around as though someone else is fiddling with it while I am using it. Any ideas what is goi g on?
Hi Deeveeay,
Try resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). When the Home screen redisplays, see if the issue has resolved itself.
Cheers,

I recently purchased an album from itunes. When I subsequently sync'ed my ipod touch I ended up with all tracks of that album doubled on my ipod and I lost all my playlists. Subsequent syncing has not fixed it. Any ideas what to try?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

No, I do not want to "factory reset" my iPod. No I do not wish to do anything crazy long or hard to fix this.
That may be necessary, It is not what you want to do/not do but what is required to resolve your problem. -
My iPad will not sync with my Mac. It has in the past. I get a message that the sync failed. How do I fix it. Also, is ther a virus scan for iPads?

I rec'd a CD with audio files. The suffix is .v09, and they won't play on iTunes. Any idea what I should do?
I have a MacBook, OS X.No helpful information seems to be available about this, except that on Windows .v09 indicates an unknown extension - in other words they could be anything. What do you get if you highlight the file and hit command-i - does the info pane give you any file type?
The best thing would be to ask the person who sent you the CD what they are; if you can't do this you can only try opening it in various programs. Audacity is a free audio editor which can open a number of formats. You could try dragging it to a browser icon in case it's Flash, or try the Windows Media Player. However there's a good chance that it's one of the obscure audio formats, in which case you very likely won't be able to play it.
