HT1386 when i plug my iphone 4s into my computer is does not show in itunes, When the menu comes up on my computer for what action I want to take it shows no options for itunes. My phone worked before, Im not sure why it is not working now??
I just recently tried to plug my iphone 4s into intunes. It comes up with the menu of what action do you want to take. My only options only involve photos and videos nothing to do with syncing or music. When I open itunes it does not even show my device in itunes. What do I do??
uninstall itunes
you may have to manually delete anything related to itunes in regedit
reboot and reinstall itunes

Randomly when I plug my Iphone 4s into Itunes it will tell me that it can't detect my phone and that I need to restore it. It doesn't happen every time, but maybe every two weeks.I restore it and then it works for a while, but then a couple weeks later I'll plug it in and I get the same message again. It's very frustrating because even though I have all the settings to save to cloud, my apps and data don't all come back.

please help! when i plug my iphone 4s into itunes, it tells me it cant sync and to restore it back to factory settings. how do i do this without losing all of my contact list, music i purchased on my phone, and all the other data and pics? i do have i cloud that recently backed up, but does i cloud back up my contacts to?
i have icloud but does that backup everything thats on my phone currently? even music that i have purchased on my phone thats is on my itunes? pic, contacts, apps?

When I plug my iPhone 4s into my PC, I get a message that says iTunes needs a newer version of Apple Mobile Device Support. It wants me to uninstall both the AMDS and iTunes and then reinstall iTunes. iTunes won't recognize my phone and so I can't synch it. Has anyone else run into this problem recently and how did you resolve it? Thanks!

Alright, I've had this problem for a while now, and I'm at my wit's end. Hope someone can help me.
First of all, I'm running Windows 8.0 on a Lenovo, using iTunes 11.1.5, and an iPhone on iOS 7.0.6.
Problem is, when I plug my iPhone 5 into my computer, the computer recognizes the iPhone, but for some reason, iTunes doesn't realize it's there. On top of that, every time I plug in, my phone gives me the same "Trust this computer?" prompt, like it doesnt recognize the computer I told it to trust 5 seconds ago. A couple times, I got lucky and iTunes dignified me with a "An iPhone has been detected, but could not be identified properly." prompt. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mobile device driver, updating everything, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, resetting my iphone settings, but nothing works. I have a strange problem. When I put my iphone 4S into my pocket (pants or coat) and move it around, the phone makes a beep noise/tone. I can't figure out what is causing the noise. It doesn't sound like any of my regular applications. Maybe it is the lock noise but I can't tell for sure. More movement makes more beeps. Even walking with my phone in my pocket creates beeps. The IOS is 7.0.4 (11B554a). Anyone else have this crazy problem?

When I plug my iphone 4s into the usb in my car, text and notifications sounds are gone. The phone only vibrates, no sound. The ringer works fine, and the music plays through the stereo system just fine. When I try to turn up the volume, the ringer shows on the screen, but it will not increase in volume. When I unplug the usb, everything works fine. I have tried different cords and different cars, all with the same result. This only happens in the car, when hooked up to the usb in the house or to the computer, everything works fine. When plugged into the car, the sound disappears. Any ideas?

I'm getting an error message when I plug my iPhone 4 into my computer. It says, "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Moblie Device Service has not been started." What does this mean? I've never had this error before. It's also giving the same message with my iPod touch. Please help!

DanaGalYou can easily check whether you've the Apple Mobile Device in your computer.
Right click 'My Computer' , then Manage => Services and Applications => Services. Apple Mobile Device is listed in alphabetical order. If none, it means you've not download iTunes into your computer yet. If yes, please ensure the Apple Mobile Device is in 'Started' status.

When you connect your iPad or iPod to the Mac, click on the device name in iTunes - don't click on the arrow on the device. Then click on the Music tab in the main window pane. Now you should see 'Sync Music' and all your playlists, artists and albums. Here you mark the checkboxes for what should be synced.

Everytime i plug my iphone 4s into my windows laptop, usually it comes up with a small box saying 'installing device' but now it comes up with a box saying 'usb device not recoginised'. i have 4 usb ports in my laptop and i have tried plugging my iphone into each one, but it comes up with the same message. After a while it will charge my phone and connect to my laptop but it wont connect to itunes.
Are there any solutions to my problem which doesnt include me deleting itunes because i dont want to loose my music.

Your camera should have a cable and you can nonnect it directly to your computer to get the photos out.

In need of help figuring this phone stuff out! I am trying to get all the apps from my husbands old phone to his new one. I have already backed up the old phone and got everything onto iTunes, but every time I plug the new iPhone 5s into my computer it says that the version of iTunes is not correctly localized for this language and asks for me to run the English version. It sounds like your phone is not seen in iTunes on your computer but is recognized in My Computer. You have done an excellent job troubleshooting so far, and next I recommend these steps from the article named:

4. Empty your Temp directory and restart
7. Remove and reinstall iTunes
9. Update, Reconfigure, Disable, or Remove Security Software
10. Deleting damaged or incorrect registry keys
The title mentions the iPod, but the steps will be relevant for the iPhone as well.
