HT1414 My daughter locked up her iPod bc she couldn't remember her pass code. It says iPod disabled connect to I tunes. The computer we had been using for iTunes has been reset to factory and no longer has iTunes on it. How do we unlock the iPod?
Should I just go to the apple store? I am so frustrated with this.

Your CD being what? If it contains PDF files, you should be able to open them with the latest Reader XI.

My experience in this situation has been that's it's related to the visa card, and not necessarily the phone or the iTunes store. In addition to verifying all of the credentials on the card as entered, I'd also check with you card bank and see if they have declined the charges due to some type of security concerns. I have a Chase card, and they will decline a charge even though there are sufficient funds available, if the charges meet some security screening criteria.

Server not recognizing same password that I've been using for years. What's the problem?
I entered the same password that I use for this particular email address in outlook and when I first set up Thunderbird and it work fine but when I went back to check my mail for this account in Thunderbird I get a password failed message now. I retype it several times and it keeps coming up failed.

As a first attempt, try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons untl the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if that appears.

I'm in London for a semester and I met someone here. My iMessage has been useful for chatting with friends from home, but I'd like to add this guy to my contacts and iMessage him. I can't iMessage him (he has functional iMessage on his iPhone). Why doesn't my phone recognize him to have iMessage? Do I have to turn my data on and my airport off to send a message before it recognizes that he has iMessage?
Call AppleCare, because, according to Apple, removing the devices from your support profile should have fixed this issue. You can also try changing your Apple ID password, but given what you've done, I doubt this will help.

I cannot download certain games because I do not recall the answers to my security questions when it asks if I am 17 years or older. In fact, I do not even recall being asked these security questions.
I tried to guess logical answers but now my iPad is threatening to lock me out. My second email is no longer in use as it has not been used for years and has seemingly expired.
Can you please help?If you don't have access to your rescue email account, or you don't have one on your account (an alternate/secondary email address is a different setting/address), then you will need contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset (you won't be able to change/add a rescue email address until you can answer 2 of your questions)
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to update/add a rescue email address for potential future use -

There's no way around activation lock. If you purchased this from someone else you'll have to contact them and have them remove it from their account as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515. Otherwise you won't be able to use it.

I have 3 PC's. Two of them I use at 2 different locations and only use them 6 months each year. When I turn on a computer that has not been used for 6 months, does all of the old information from that computer end up in Icloud? Does Icloud push all the new calendar and contact items over the old items?
A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure. -

Hi, Although I had itunes downloaded on my pc & been using for a while now, today I've been prompted to download itunes again. This has been successfull except that 65 songs that I had previously in my library are now no longer able to play, the message informes me that the original files could not be found. Yet these songs are still on my ipod after being syncronised and I can play them on my ipod. Please advise how I can find the original files on my pc.

CarolI would copy over the entire thing if you have room. With iTunes 10.4 though, you can download any previous iTunes purchases you have made in the past with your current iTunes account. While in iTunes, look at the left hand side of your screen and select "Purchases" and look at the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Download Previous Purchases". If you have an iPhone, iPod and/or iPad...you can do the same thing from each device. Nice new feature...just remember that those ripped CDs need a back-up!!! Enjoy...

My iPad has been stolen. Someone broke into my house on Tuesday. I have already tried locking it through icloud. I have reported this to the authorities but they cannot do much unless I give them the serial number to the iPad. With the serial number they can put it into a database and send that inormation to pawn shops, so i the theie tries to pawn it, the pawn shop employeee can convscate the iPad and hand it over to the authorites. I need the serial number to report it to the authorities. I dont have the box it came in or the receipt and its not on my itunes on the computer because I didnt use it or music, just pictures. Can someone please help??? btw, some words are misspelled becasue the letter that comes ater the letter E, doesnt work on my keybord.
