HT1420 De-authorization

I just got a new system and while trying to install itunes I discover that all five of my authorizations have been used. I don't have access to any of the other systems save my last computer, is there another way to de-authorize a system without accually being at the system?
Thanks,
L

Open iTunes.   if you cant see the menu bar, press Alt.  go to Store>View my Apple ID (account address),  find where it says Deauthorize All.  click that.   this will clear out all of the computer authorizations on that account.

  • HT1420 cannot authorize with old apple id

I just bought a new mac mini - my imac died a few months ago.  I had backed up all my itunes files on an external drive.  When I started importing them nearly half of my purchases (of a 12000 song library) will not play.  It asks for me to authorize this computer for the songs bought under my old (very old) apple id
[email protected] - and no matter what I try or which password I use I cannot log in to authorize them.  I have tried resetting it, the email will not send to any account I have, it says my birthday is incorrect when I try through security validation.
What can I do?  I have thousands of dollars of songs that I cannot play now.
    Please help

  • HT1420 De-authorization being blocked until Feb 2013

Two of our laptops were stolen and I want to deauthorize them and authorize the two new ones I just bought.  But iTunes is telling me I can't do it until Feb 2013.  Suggestions?

  • HT1420 de-authorization of a decommissioned PC

    1.  I have decommissioned two of the five PCs iTunes thinks are still authorized.  I have, in fact, destroyed the hard-drive of two of the five authorized pcs in my household.  How does one de-authorizes the decommissioned PCs in this case?
    2.  We now have three iPads in my household.  One is mine (an iPad 3 I just purchased at an Apple mall store), and two iPad 1s - one for my wife and one for my son.  My son's iPad is a "hand-me-down" from me (as I have purchased an iPad3).   And while I have successfully transferred the Aps I purchased on my first iPad to my new iPad3, I am struggling to transfer the Aps on my wife's iPad to my son's iPad.  What is the best way to do this?

    1)  You cannot deauthorize a computer that you do not have access to.  When you reach the limit of 5, you can deauthorize all.  You can then authorize the active computers.
    2) All apps should be in your itunes library on your comptuer.  Just sync them to whatever device you like.

I have authorized 5 computers/ipad/ipods to my Itunes account.  How do I DE-authorize a computer that has crashed and cannot be access anymore in order to Authorize a new computer?

You need to copy them from your old computer or the backup of that old computer.

  • HT1420 Computer Authorization

There is absolutely not an option to "authorize this computer" as indicated in the support instructions to go to the Store menu and click "authorize computer." I have not found that option yet. How do I authorize my computer?

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

  • HT1420 Itunes authorization

how do i authorize an ipad mini in itunes?

I hope someone answers this question.
I too have the same problem.
I follow the steps as iTunes told me to do and it says my computer is already authorized but I still cannot install Find My iPhone on my iPad
After these two alerts I still cannot sync apps from my Mac to my iPad. Only reason why I'm complaining about it is I get the alert that my computer is not authroized for this iPad.

  • HT1420 HDD authorization

How do i authoriza my HDD using a mac ?

The hard drive must be in a format that Windows can read first, this has nothing to do with iTunes.
If the drive is in the correct format so that it can be read by both OSes, then both computers need to be authorized for the content, which is what the above linked article addresses.

  • HT1420 Account authorization

I have had an Itunes account for some time maybe 8 years and my account is setup through my work computer which I have had updated to new systems at least 3-4 times. I try to authorize and it states I cannot authorize since I have hit my limit on computer

The 90 day association doesn't stop you authorising an account, it only stops you from using another account for iTunes Match or automatic downloads or redownloading its past purchases : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627
There are a few methods listed on this page for how you could do it e.g. multiple user acounts, same iTunes but you having separate playlists, separate iTunes libraries : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495

  • HT1420 de-authorize

I no longer own one of the 5 computers authorized.  How do I de-authorize that one computer?

If that's the case "deauthorize all" is exactly what you need.

  • HT1420 no authorize computer option in itunes store

i do not see the option to "authorize my computer" in the itunes store home page.  I think it could be my constant guard software hiding something, but I'm not sure.  Any ideas?
