HT1420 I recently got a new operating system on my two-year old windows computer, but itunes says that I need to authorize my computer and I already have authorized five computers. I think I should deauthorize all but does that deauthorize my ipad and ip
I recently had a new operating system installed on my two-year old windows computer. iTunes wants me to authorize my computer (again) and then says that I already have five computers authorized. Should I deauthorize all? Would that affect my iPad and iPhone? I may have old, non-functioning computers that are still authorized and should be removed.
Your past purchases are not on the computer. By choosing download all, those purchases will download to the computer.
Once authorized to your iTunes account you can control the computer.
When syncing the iPad the first time you will get the warning " this iPad is synced with another computer, syncing will erase all contents and replace with the contents of this computer"
Say yes, this is what you wan to do.

I have a MacBook Air and recently downloaded the new operating system, 10.10 OSX Yosemite. Since that time, I am no longer able to access my personal ITunes library to add music to IPhoto slideshows. I put I tunes library on my desktop, as suggested. How do I drag it to the I Photo slideshow?
That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account. -
I recently installed iTunes on my new HP laptop computer, authorized it according to the instructions, but now can't get past a screen that tells me that I need to authorize the computer. I purchased an album and it's in the library, but it won't sync.
Have a look here...

When I try to transfer over songs from my iPad to my computer it says that i need to authorize my computer, but my computer is already authorzie. It also says that some of my purchased items are not authorized for them on my computer. How do i authorize these items?
Hi slt2014,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I would try authorizing your computer again, even if it seems like it is authorized, by following these instructions:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1420
If this does not resolve the issue, you can also try downloading your purchases directly on your computer by following this:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
Cheers,

I keep getting the error message "-42408" and all of my apps got deleted on my iPhone. It says that I need to authorize my computer, so I tried than and that's when the error message showed up. I'm pretty ****** and want my apps to be back on my iPhone. Please help.
What version of iTunes are you using? The error you references seems to be connected with iTunes 9.0.4. That version of iTunes is not compatible with iOS 6. You need to update to the current version of iTunes.

I authorizsed my computer but when I I try sync my iPhone it says that I need to authorize my computer, what do I do?
Hi RaychelM,
If you are repeatedly prompted to authorize your computer, even after you have already done so, you may find the following article helpful:

iTunes says I have authorized five computers so I can no longer play music I have purchased. I have not replaced my computer once. Why does iTunes say this?
Hey Christownsend,
Thanks for the question. To troubleshoot this issue, you may want to try deauthorizing all computers:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
To deauthorize all computers associated with your Apple ID
If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:
1. Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
3. Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than two authorized computers. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/).
Thanks,

Why won't this song play even after I authorized the computer? It says that I need to authorize the computer, then I enter my username and password and it says the computer is already authorized. But then the song still won't play. What do I do?
Use the Apple ID support -> http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/ - click through the contact information and select the iTunes, etc., hot button. You can have Apple call you or email them.

Hello there, HelpMePlease117.
There is a good Knowledge Base article that helps resolve authorization issues you might want to look over:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
Any one of the steps listed there should help you get to the bottom of your issue and resolve it for you.

Could someone please help? I can play some dowloaded films through Apple TV but my 2 recent purchases won't play. It says I need to authorise my computer (whcih I have already). Has anyone had similar issues?
in remote app click on the
lower left corner on the text
top of the context menu click devices
choose the appletv rather then your shared lib in the list
if you are trying to view a movie that is located on your ipad on your tv using the appletv then
you should use airplay mirror not the remote app -
I just upgraded to Windows 7 and downloaded I-Tunes. In order for me to put all my songs on my I-Pod I am being told that I have to authorize my computer. How do I do this?
Authorization
iTunes Store- Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7. -
I am having difficulty figuring out how to burn my iMovie to a DVD. Has that feature been eliminated?
unbelievable... the amount of RAM is the issue... I found a post (http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=soundblaster&message.id=8448) on an unrelated matter, but the user solved their issue under X64 by limiting the amount of RAM WinXP x64 was using by editing the boot.ini file.
The basis of the "trick" is to add " /maxmem=4096" to the end of your OS line, but I elected to copy the line and add it to a new entry so I could easily select which "mode" i wanted at boot.... like so...
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition()\WINDOWS="Window s XP Professional x64 Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition()\WINDOWS="Window s XP Professional x64 Edition - X-Fi tweak" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /maxmem=4096
amazingly this solved my issue... but now my system properties only report 2Gb instead of 4Gb... unacceptable!
