Could someone please help? I can play some dowloaded films through Apple TV but my 2 recent purchases won't play. It says I need to authorise my computer (whcih I have already). Has anyone had similar issues?

in remote app click on the
lower left corner on the text
top of the context menu click devices
choose the appletv rather then your shared lib in the list
if you are trying to view a movie that is located on your ipad on your tv using the appletv then
you should use airplay mirror not the remote app

Use the Apple ID support -> http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/ - click through the contact information and select the iTunes, etc., hot button. You can have Apple call you or email them.

Forgotten Passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device

I have been trying to work through this problem by myself and have so far downloaded the most current version of iTunes. Frome there when it tells me I have to authorize this computer, I had to not put in the iPad information, I had to authorize with my current iTunes information, and any iPad or iPod, iPhone information. I have several people in the family that have different accounts, so I had to authorize each and every individual account because I didnt know which apps or music was purchased under which user. If only some of tracks from the album are prompting you to do that, that suggests that the tracks are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".

You should only make purchases for all your devices using a single Apple ID. There is no need, and indeed a good reason not to, set up a new Apple ID with each new device purchase. While items purchased under different IDs can be played on a single device, you cannot merge Apple IDs and it makes it cumbersome.
Apple IDs do not expire but may become dormant and require reactivation if they are not actively used.
You should make note of your Apple ID and passwords and keep a record of it. Like a bank account it contains access to items with value. Update your Apple ID email address as they change.
I see you were guided to this forum by a help page on recovering your password. If that is not sufficient try the links below. Apple will need to verify you are indeed to owner of the accounts to which you are trying to gain access.

Have you tried resetting the iPad:

Purchase Mac OS X 10.8 from the Mac App Store. If it reports that 10.8 is incompatible with the system, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu. I just found that I can't Sync my Iphone either and it gave the same error code.... it must be a ITunes problem.

Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do.

You need a French store account to use a card from France. The cards are country-specific and cannot be used in another country.
If you qualify for an account, that is, have a credit card issued in that country and a physical mailing address there, you can switch to the French store from Settings > iTunes and App Stores > Apple ID > View Apple ID > enter your password > Country/Region to change stores.
