No. I have quite a few more 16,000, so I don't manually manage. Making playlists for each device makes things much easier to organize. You can create regular lists of essential tracks and smart playlists to automatically catch new content, top rated, most played etc. If you'd done it this way all along configuring a new or restored device would be the work of moments.

Ok so sorry for clogging the community!! I figured it out - you have to copy your videos into itunes manually. I did that, synched and all good!

    Hello everybody,
I would like to copy all the songs from one Ipod into another. All the songs are into my Itunes account, I tried to drag and drop the songs from the old Ipod to the new one but it doesn't work. Is there a way to do it ?
I share one Itunes account with other people from my family and one person would like to keep the same songs on the new Ipod as the ones which were on the old one.
Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Hello Chris,
Thanks for your answer. I was hoping for an easier answer. Too bad there is no drag and drop solution, it would have been much easier.
    Thanks for answering so fast.

Install disk drive from old computer in an external enclosure.
Then copy the complete iTunes library from the disk drive to the disk drive in the new computer.

I have a hitachi hard drive from an old pc. I would like to transfer pics and music to my new macbook air. What cord do I need to make this possible?

Some external cases include cords others (like some printers) consider the cord to be "optional" - read the package or product description. Other World Computing, HH Greg, OfficeMax, any box store or local computer store should have a case for your old drive.
You are fortunate in that the Mac will automagically read the DOS format disk... you'd never be able to connect and old Mac HD to a WinDUHows machine.

  • I have a Sansa mp3 player that is full of tunes I would like to transfer to itunes. I've read other forums, but they are a bit old. Is there  a new way I can do this?

I have a Sansa mp3 player that is full of tunes I would like to transfer to itunes. I've read other forums, but they are a bit old. Is there  a new way I can do this?

You will need to consult the documentation for the Sansa to learn how to get the tracks off of the player onto your computer. Once they're on the computer, either drag the tracks into the iTunes window or use the Add to Library command under the File menu.

Yes, there's a limit, and that iPod touch has reached it.

  • My itunes library is on our pc and my ipod touch.  I would like to tranfer this library to my new laptop and then to my new ipod classic.

I have had an ipod touch for some time now.  A lot of my music is stored on our home pc.The music on the pc is stored in my itunes library, and also on the Touch.
I have now bought an ipod Classic 160gb.
I have also bought a new pc laptop.
I would like to transfer the music from my itunes library, which is on the Touch, to my new laptop and then onto my new Classic.

    To transfer your iTunes Library...
From your Old Computer... Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
An Added Bonus is that you will then have a Backup of iTunes...

With regard as to what is on your Touch, you will need a 3rd Party Software... Google would be your friend...

  • HT4528 I would like to import my iphone videos to my laptop and incorporate them into my office 2010 microsoft powerpoint. I have a toshiba laptop with windows vista

I would like to be able to transfer the videos into my 2010 power point.  What is the best software
for windows vista to format the video ?

Plus you will need to buy a Blu ray DVD burner.
There have been discussions about quality issues with iMovie 08 because it uses single field processing to create the video images. Basically, this removes half of the lines of resolution from your original footage. This has to create some loss of quality. iMovie HD6, on the other hand, does not do this, keeping both fields intact.
iMovie 08 was really created to appeal to You Tubers and other web video users, where high quality is less of an issue. iMovie HD6 and previous versions were created to appeal to the budding moviemaker who wants a pro style editing platform with great quality, but ease of use, as compared to Final Cut programmes. That's also why iMovie HD6 was designed to work solely with miniDV tape cams, in either SD or HD format. DV Stream is a lossless format that produces superior results to any of the other high compression formats, such as AVCHD.
So, you need to spend more money to get HD DVDs, but your quality will suffer using iMovie 08, which your camcorder forces you to do. Perhaps some consideration of a suitable cam to begin with will be of help.

  • I have two apple id accounts. I would like to transfer all of my music from the old one to my new one so that I can put everything on my iPad as opposed to currently on my iPod

I cannot sync my iPad to two apple accounts. My music is on my iPod on the old account and I want to transfer it to my iPad under my new account.
Does any one know how to do this? help!!!!!!!

You cannot transfer content between two accounts. The sooner you make the conversion, the better. Just pick the new one and start using it(buying music etc).
*A lot of people open new accounts when their email changes or they have a new email. You can just access your apple id account and change the primary email that you use to log in along with other details.

  • I have a new computer.  I would like to transfer all the photos I have on the old computer to the new. The old program was Windows XP, the new Windows 8

I just bought a new computer. It is a HP 700 Envy.  It has Windows 8. My old computer had Windows XP.  I have thousands of pictures categorized in Adobe Photoshop Starter edition.  I hope and pray that I can transfer these photos to the new computer.  I am aware that the Starter edition is no longer available but very much agreeable to transfer to any program you suggest.

There is no such program as "Photoshop Starter Edition", however there is "Photoshop Album Starter Edition".
Understand that your pictures are not IN Photoshop Album, nor are they being held hostage by Photoshop Album Starter Edition. Photoshop Album only creates a catalog (database) of the digital image files on your computer. Your pictures can still be accessed through Windows Explorer or through another photo management program. They can most likely be found in a folder under your system default My Documents folder.
    Windows® XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents\My Pictures\Adobe\Digital Camera Photos
Your photos should be in that directory and can be moved to your new PC.

  • I have 2 Macbook Pros running 10.6! One was my sales guy and I would like to transfer my contents to his whilst retaining all his information?

    Hi Guy's,
I have run Mac for the last 10 years! I am sick to the back teeth of them now! I am seriously considering going back to Bill......
I have two Macbook pro's, they are company Macs and I own them. My sales guy has left tthe company and his Mac was a couple of years younger than
mine and a larger memory faster processor etc...
I would like to transfer all of my contents to the younger version, Iphotos, itunes, apps, docs, mail and all? Whilst retaining all of the info still on the newer version. I have backed up onto a 1Tb hard drive (iomega) and thats where the trouble has started.......
It will not let me transfer across, you know the story......different user, keychain, system already exists etc etc.
Is there an easy way of having one access (without it keeping the original user hidden away to P*ss you off from time to time) i don't want to see his name appear now or in the future, just my name, on my Macs, that I bought with, my money.........
Sorry, but really annoyed at the minute....
    PJ

Well there is Migration Assistant in the Utilities folder and that's designed to migrate user accounts from a same or older machine to a newer one. But that comes later.
You want to retain the previous owners data but want to delete his name from the machine, so your going to need to have Admin access on that newer machine or access to his account to get the data off the machine first to a external drive by copying the users folders (music, pictures, movies, documents etc.)
To get the old user off the machine unfortunalty requires wiping the entire drive of all data, including programs installed and the operating system and all accounts, then installing OS X fresh again and setting it up like a brand new machine.
Apple squirrels the original user name all over the machine, and the only way to get rid of it all is to wipe the drive completely.
Once OS X is reinstalled, and you go through the setup process, the Setup Assistant will transfer the User account of the older machine to the newer one via Firewire Target Disk Mode, or via a external TimeMachine drive made on the older machine. Then you can transfer the user data from the backup drive you made earlier.

If this is all too much for you to grasp at this time, just take the machine's to a local Mac software service and they will do it all for you.

  • I have a itunes account but i would like to transfer my app purchases onto my google play?

I have a itunes account but i would like to transfer all my app purchases onto my google play or play store account how do i do that?..i already transfer my music too but i dont know how to transfer my app purchases at all please help!

That's a question for Google. If Google wants to give you credit for purchases that you have made from Apple, then that is between you and Google. As far as Apple would be concerned, you don't have anything to transfer.
