IBooks will not download to my ipad.  Do you think I should somehow change the settings?

Are you accessing them from within your Nook account?

I have bought a apple ipad 1st generation and I would like to put my ebooks on how would I do this the ibook app will not download on this ipad many thanks for any help offered

Try downloading the current version of the iBooks app on your computer's iTunes so that the app is in your purchase history. Then on your iPad go to the Purchased tab in the App Store app and see if you can download an older compatible version of it.
If the ebooks aren't ibooks, then unless they are digital-rights-management free epubs then you probably won't be able to add them to your computer's iTunes library (File > Add To Library) and sync them to your iPad - in they do have DRM on them then does the store that you got them from have their own app in your computer's iTunes ? If they then you could try the above and see if they have an iOS 5 compatible version available.

  • HT1222 This will not download on my iPad, I've tried several times and keep getting an error

This update will not download on my iPad I've tried it several times and keep getting an error message

The links that you posted describes Apple security updates. What exactly are you trying to download and what error message are you getting?
If you are trying to update the iPad and you are usingn iTunes, disable your antivirus software and turn off your firewall.

  • The new version of iBooks will not open on my iPad(3gen) after it was installed. Reinstalling makes no difference. It opens then closes right away. Any fix??

    Anybody else have this problem?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. Safebooting disables Launch Agents/Daemon and Third Party Kernal extensions. Here's the article to Safeboot OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? - Apple Support

    Hi,
For all people struggling with connecting their iPad to their router, constantly getting 'Incorrect Password' even though you have entered the correct one - this may be your solution as it just resolved my issue.
In your router settings online (usually found at 198.168.1.1) change your security from WPA2 or WEP to WPA.  For my iPad it for some reason only accepts WPA but now it is running without problems.  Let me know if this helps.
    Cheers.

  • TS1702 ibooks will not download

    My ibooks will not download

The original author isn't clear whether he means the ibooks app or a purchased iBook. I have purchased an iBook from the iBook store, and while I can download it to my mac, I can't download it to my ipad. You suggest syncing between the two, which sounds reasonable, but how do you do this? iBooks doesn't work like iTunes does.

  • TS1702 iBooks will not download at this time

It is trying to update, but will not download. It is not paused, and it cannot be deleted. It is shaded--lighter in color, and I can't open it from the home screen, but it will open a PDF from my email, etc. very frustrating. I am working on an iPad 1, which will not update to iOS 6, and the app says that it has updates for iOS 6, but there is no way to get it out of the "stuck" condition. Any suggestions?

    Hi skokie12,

See page 31 of the Apple TV User Gide
    manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/apple_tv_3rd_gen_setup.pdf
You can reset all of the settings on your Apple TV to factory values.
Important: This requires you to reenter all of your network and account
    information.
    To reset all settings:
Choose Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
If you still have trouble, try resetting your equipment by disconnecting Apple TV, your TV, your wireless networking equipment or base station, and your router from the power outlet. Wait 30 seconds, and then reconnect everything.
It also may be helpful to switch between a wired and wireless network:

  • My mail will not download on my ipad ?

I have a new iPad.  I have set up the email account but the email will not download. What am I doing wrong?

If you delete the account off the iPad you won't delete the info permanently, although you will delete it off your device. If you delete it off your iPad the data will come back when you re-add it.

Are all your accounts yahoo? If so you may want to read the above posts. There have been issues with yahoo for quite some time now. People have said these fixes work, however I haven't tried any of them since mine is still working.

  • IBook will not download even though it says it has already downloaded

    Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with a couple of iBooks I have recently downloaded. The iTunes store says that these books have downloaded already, however I cannot open them on my iPhone because it says that they are still downloading. Because I downloaded these books about a day ago, they should have completely downloaded on my phone by now; yet, my phone says there has been no progress in downloading the items. I've tried everything, from restarting and restoring my phone, to deleting the file and then redownloading it but nothing is working. I am having this problem with a couple of iBooks, but not ones that I purchased previously. Anyone have any advice? I'd very much enjoy reading books that I bought...
    Kind regards,
    Song02
P.S. I should mention that I have the latest software for iTunes, iBook, and the iPhone, so I don't believe the problem is due to old software.

    Hey Caseyb1tx,
I'd take a look at the following two articles to see if they can resolve the issue you're experiencing:
iTunes: Downloading iTunes for Windows using Internet Explorer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3212
Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1926
The File Download window will ask you to Run or Save the iTunes file you are downloading, try choosing each option to see if one works over the other - if you Save it, the iTunesSetup.exe file is saved onto your computer, so look where it is saving to and open the file from there to install iTunes.
    Have a good one,
    David

  • IBooks2 iBook will not download

I have purchased the Pearson "Biology" textbook.  I can download the "sample" of that book, and of all the other textbooks just fine.  I can download the full version of other textbooks just fine.  When I try to download the Pearson Biology (from the "purchased" section of the iBook Store) book it shows the progress bar in the book in my library but never progresses.. after some time (and usually some app switching) when I open ibooks again it tells me it could not download "biology" and to ether retry or try again later.  I am connected to Wifi not 3g (3g is disabled) Here is what I have done:
iBooks and iPad2 (32gig 3g ATT)  is fully up to date, I have uninstalled and reinstalled ibooks...
Rebooted iPad both by using the hold the sleep button till the slider comes out method, and the holding home and sleep button
connected to 2 different wifi networks in two different locations...
    disabled and reenabled wifi
I can download apps, other books, other textbooks etc... just not this one...
the only thing I did NOT try is sync the iPad with a computer with the ibook downloaded to it...
    Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance!

sync the iPad with a computer with the ibook downloaded to it
That was going to be my suggestion!
