HT1620 iOS 6 software download on iPhone 5

After down loading the iOS 6 software upgrade my iPhone 5 keeps locking the screen all the way thru the function, to continue I have to switch off, then on then slide to open, for every function, on.off, on off slide, its driving me up the wall, I'm reverting back to default settings which clears everything off the phone which Ive saved to back up on my macbook, IT'S IN THE PROCESS now so here's to success ??? 4hrs to go

DO NOT UPDATE IPHONE 5 TO 6.1.3!
Updated two iPhone 5s 32 GB and discovered the same problem.
It is not that the phone is losing battery power any faster it is that even when plugged in and screen indicates it is charging, it is not charging, it is an illusion. You can confirm this yourself.
Also try flipping the lightning cable over, likely that when flipped, the phone will not even recognize insertion of the lightning cable.
I conducted various tests to confirm identical problem on both phones within minutes of 6.1.3 install. swapped cables, power supplies, etc. to rule out all other causes.
Apple store was able to see my problem, was unable to resolve the problem and replaced both phones with phones running 6.1.2.
Problem now resolved
Do not update to 6.1.3

Download latest iOS (5.1.1) to your desktop.
Turn off your iPhone.
Open iTunes
Connect your iPhone to iTunes while you are holding home button. Hold it until iTunes logo appears on iPhone.
iTunes will show you "Restore message"
Hold "alt" button while you are click on restore.
Now just choose 5.1.1 ipsw you downloaded.
Your iPhone will be restored to 5.1.1
In a future, don't try beta softwares if you are not developer

I started to download the new ios6 software and for some reason something went wrong and i had to reset my phone. I was able to sync my music from itunes back onto the phone, however i have been unable to sync back onto my phone my calendar notes and contacts. how do i get these back? i did not use i-cloud i dont think. please help!

im not sure? do you mean outlook as in outlook express the e-mail program? i just plug it in thats all i know?

I'm having the same issue! Downloaded iOS 8.02 to iPhone 5 and no 3G internet connection! Spent 3 hours on a Saturday trying to get internet connectivity. Talked to Apple tech support and my service provider. This is the worst operating system ever! Do not upgrade to it. I will never upgrade to a new operating system on my iPhone again. I had the same problem. In the end I downloaded it manually. Here's the steps assuming you are on a Mac and have an iPad Air (Wifi). If not you can find other restore links here.
In the terminal (it kept failing to download in Safari):
curl http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS7.1/031-4521.20140310.D2Ydl/iPad4,1_7.1_11D167_Rest ore.ipsw >>~/Desktop/iPad4,1_7.1_11D167_Restore.ipsw
Once the file has downloaded, move it to ~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates/
Quit and relaunch iTunes.
Should now work for you.

Yep, me to exactly the same problem, the error message keeps telling me to check my internet connection or try later. Nothing wrong with my internet connection. Is it an apple server problem?

Only developer's have access to iOS 6 now. Thus, if you are a developer you have have access to the developer's forum for iOS 6.
Otherwise you have a bootleg copy and are on yur own./
