HT1924 Is there a way to purchase from another countries itunes store ( other than your home country where your registered ) ?

I am looking for a way to be able to purchase form the itunes UK store , currently I use the Australian one and tried changing my country but when I went to purchase the TV shows I wanted it said I was not authorised to use this particular itunes store? Are they not linked? Is there a way to be a more 'global ' itunes customer?
Thanks

No, you can currently only buy from your own country's store - to be able to buy content from another country's store you need a valid billing address in that country and be in that country when buying from it. You can try requesting that the content that you want to buy be added to the Australian store, but ultimately it's the content providers (in this case the TV companies) that will have to grant Apple a license to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

  • Buying from an iTunes store other than your home country question

I would very much like to download from the Canadian iTunes store. However, I'm unable to (I'm in the US.) Is there a solution for downloading from another countries iTunes store?
    thanks!
    Powerbook G4 1.67   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

This question is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

  • Can you purchase something from another countries itune store and use it on the US itunes?, if you have a US store account, can you purchase something from another countries itune store and use it on the US itunes?

You cannot purchase from any other country's iTunes Store. The content owners will not allow cross-border sales.

  • HT3497 Purchasing material from another countries' iTunes Store?

There is a film I would like to rent, but it is only available in the United Kingdom store.  If I change countries on iTunes, will it allow me to rent or purchase material?  Thanks!

No, to be able to buy (or rent) content from another country's store you need a valid billing address in that country and be in that country when buying (or renting) from it. You could try requesting that it be added to the US store, but ultimately it's the film studio that will have to grant Apple a license to have it for rent there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

  • HT201272 How can I download from another countries iTunes store?

I'm not from America, I'm Canadian and I can't download a specific album.  When I transfer to the American store it tells me I'm not authorized to download from there.
Anyone know how I can gain authorization?
    Thanks,
    -Krazy

You must be within the Country with a Valid Billing Address and Credit Card for that Country to use the iTunes Store of that Country...

  • Is there a way to buy something from an iTunes store other than my own local one?

Is there a way to buy something from an iTunes store other than my own local one?

No, unless you have a valid billing address in that country and you are in that country when purchasing from it - otherwise you can only purchase from the store that is based in the country where you are.

So how did you do it?
by understand what iweb widgets do, in this case setting gridEntry widget's scalMode preference from fill to fit.
then reset the displayed image, so it fits in the display area even if it's portrait aspect.
however, i found some glitches in gridEntry widget that's quite strange... but all fix-able.
perhaps, iweb experts (whose had poked at my example) here can chime in.

  • Cannot purchase from the Australian iTunes Store while working overseas

I'm an Australian currently working in Papua New Guinea. I tried to make a purchase on the iTunes Store (Windows) and it keeps asking me to verify my credit card Security Code which I did but it tells me "For assistance, please contact iTunes Support". Upon contacting Apple Support, I was told that I have violated the iTunes Store Terms and Conditions and was asked to read http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/sales.html. The two Apple Support representatives I have spoken with refused to tell me what part of the Terms and Conditions I have violated and basically told me to get lost in a polite way.
Now, I find this unacceptable. Firstly, if Apple thinks I have done something wrong then it is Apple's responsibility to tell me what I have done wrong. Secondly, I find it unacceptable that as an Australian, I'm restricted from making purchases from the Australian iTunes Store even that I have a valid Australian billing address, a valid credit card that is issued from Australia.
Is someone in the community able to clarify this?

    I can tell you:
"The iTunes Service is available to you only in Australia, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance."

  • Is there a way around to avoid the dutch iTunes store and to have access to the normal iTunes store?

I am living in the Netherlands and I can not access the normal iTunes store, I am redirected automatically to the Dutch iTunes store and I can not find what I want....is there a way around to avoid the dutch iTunes store??

There is no "normal itunes store".  Each country has its own itunes store.
You can buy ONLY from the itunes store of your country of residence (as proven by the valid billing address on your credit card) and ONLY while inside the borders of that country.

  • I am a Brit living in Germany. I really need to be able to purchase from the German iTunes Store (in €) and the English one (in £). How can I set this up from my iPad?

I am a Brit living in Germany. I really need to be able to purchase from the German iTunes Store (in €) and the English one (in £). How can I set this up from my iPad?

Technically correct (the best kind of correct)
Now if the Op has and retains a UK account with billing address and UK paymant card - He/She can continue to use the UK store in Germany - Apple does NOT use IP address blocking just a valid paymant card attached to a postcode !
Basically the first four of your paymant card are country codes.
What the op needs to do if he/she now has a Germany address and payment method (could just be German € value gift cards) is to open a separate German iTunes Account !
On a PC/Mac its very easy to change stores, however iOS has it a bit more difficult.
In fact i would recommend the Op sets up a new German account and credentials on a PC/Mac first.
And doing so just means opening the store in iTunes scrolling to the bottom of the screen and clicking on the littler circular flag in the bottom right.
After that the browser window is populated with loads of similar disc flags. Clicking any take you to that regional store where provided you have a valid address (Postcode/Zipcode actually) and payment method local credit/debit some prepayment VISA cards or just a gift card you can create a local account.
Oh and because Apple do NOT use IP addressing you don't actually have to be present in the country of that store. Its against to terms of the EULA but it works !
    Back to the iOS device
Tap Settings/iTunes & App Store /Apple ID (that will probably be showing the UK account set up).
In the window that opens tap log out
Now  change the ID to the new German name and password and in the next window make sure the flag selected is that of Germany (when in Germany)
When buying from the UK store follow that path again log out of the German account and re-log in using the UK ID
As it happens I have a UK Portuguese and US account all active because I have residences in all three - and can visit any of the stores from anywhere.

  • Is there a way to get back a previous iTunes backup file than the most recent Backup?

I did a manual backup and wanted to restore the iPhone, but iTunes forced me to update the iPhone before allowing me to restore the iPhone...
After updating, I realised that iTunes created a backup automatically without confirming with me, and now the latest backup file is not the one I wanted.
Is there a way to get back the backup file I manually backup?

Is there a way to get back a previous iTunes backup file than the most recent Backup?
No, to the best of my knowledge the device backup area is simply updated with new information each time the device is backed up so there are no previous versions preserved. Once a backup has been used to restore a device however it gets locked and dated so that you could return back to that snapshot at a later date.
Your manual backup should have simply updated the backup with any new data since the last automatic backup. Upgrading should not have overwritten a backup taken just before the upgrade with a, presumably, empty state. Have you actually tried to restore the current backup that is available? It may have what you want after all. You might like to try backing up the current state of the device to iCloud first, or if you have access to another computer back it up to that.
N.b. I always disable automatic syncing of devices so that I am in better control of when data starts to be written, and in which direction it flows.

How come I can buy foreign books through Amazon as e-book, but the same book can't be downloaded from iTunes? That doesn't makes sense.
Why would you think that all stores would have the same policy?
Amazon allows it, iTunes does not.  That is why.  Like most companies, Apple does not forward explanations to al of their decisions to the general public.  It does not have to make sense to you, for it to be true.  Apple has teams of experts that have determined that this is how they should conduct their business.
With iTunes, you cannot use other countries stores.
    Sorry

  • Will itunes uk ever get US tv programmes if not is there any way to purchase from itunes US

was looking through itunes US is there any way to purchase tv programmes from there

    1. Only if whoever holds the copyright to them in the UK allows Apple to make those programs available.
    2. Not without travelling to the US and supplying a payment method valid there.
