HT201263 why I see system apps icons? such as siri.

Something wrong happened to my iPhone5.
the system crashed and it restarted by itself when it restarted.. i noticed a lot of new apps installed without icon such as siri and system processes and few other apps, I tried to open them but only blank black screen showed.. I was panicked but when i restarted my iPhone all apps were gone and it was back to normal.
Any Explinations?

It was a crash, like all computers do eventually. Just make sure you're backing up regularly in case it happens again and you have to restore.

  • After installing the Security Update 2015-002 many system app icons have switched. How can I fix this?

I Installed the Security Update 2015-002 on March 13 on my 13-inch Macbook Pro (mid 2010) running Yosemite. However after it rebooted many of the system app icons have switched places. For instance: The delete button in finder has the icon for Full Screen (while others are just plain white). And the button for New Message in Mail now shows a search icon. Please see screengrab below.
IS there a way to fix this mess without having to manually change all this?

I have some new info on the issueI thought I'd share with you.
First of all, I've installed Photoshop CC on my SurfacePro (Windows 8) and do not have the lag issue there. It's very similar hardware to my MacBook Pro. So the issue must have something to do with my MacBook.
After a lot of tinkering I discovered that it is my 27" Thunderbolt Display that is causing the brush lag. When I unplug it and only use my built in 13" screen the brush lag is gone. Aha!
I tried every available option in the Performance section but nothing helped. Again, Photoshop CS5 with attached Thunderbolt Display doesn't have a brush lag issue.
I'd be interested to know everyone else's setup who is experiencing this problem.

    In the Elements Organizer 13
The key to all this is to click on/select/highlight the Album that you have created in Local Albums.
Then make sure that the Sort By: (in the row below the highlighted "Media" header is set for Album Order.
You should see a number at the top left of each of thumbnails.
Then, click on the thumbnail that you want to move, hold down the click, and drag the thumbnail to the wanted new location
in the line up of thumbnails.
Often I had to press down hard on the drag.
Please let us know if that worked for you.
Also, in Edit Menu/Preferences/Keyword Tags and Albums/Enable Manual Sorting Options, I set all for manual.

  • I can't see any app icons on my ipad screen

Can anyone please help me, i can't see any apps icon on my screen

Did you try swiping from screen to screen to find your apps?
Have you tried a reset? Give this a try.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Why are so many app icons either pixelated or missing?  No photo thumbnails in Photoshop CS6 and missing icons for newly installed applications.

Even after a clean install of new applications and permission fixes and disk repairs, this problem persists.  Apple must have changed some specifications for thumbnail icons in Mountain Lion.   This is a particularly frustrating problem with Adobe Photoshop CS6.  If you attempt to save a CS6 file in any format, the thumbnail image icon just disappears or appears dark, with no image visible.  I have spoken with both Adobe and Apple about this and no one seems to want to accept responsibility, but I'm beginning to believe the issue is with Mountain Lion, as I did a clean install of a Mountain Lion friendly and compatible app today and the end result was that there is no icon for the application.  The application will run, but you cannot see an icon for it in the dock, only the name.  This is absurd!  Seems like paid "upgrades" are now becoming downgrades.   At least that's how I feel when I actually lose rather than gain functionality.

this is happening to me too. if i create a photoshop jpeg file it has no thumbnail icon. the file seems to be there by name only?

  • Disappearing System App icons in Dock

I can't get 'PREVIEW' and 'TEXT EDIT' apps to stay in my dock. I drag them in and they stay in place for about ten seconds before disappearing. They disappear even if the application is open. This only happens on my Mac Book. I am up to date with snow leopard and this doesn't happen on my iMac. I tried disk utility and permissions repair and have restarted several times but these little essential apps to me won't stay in line! I have removed some icons to be sure it wasn't a space issue.
Thanks for any help in advance.

I am having the same problem as of today. This is happening to ONLY Aperture.... I have tried to restore my library using "commandoptionclick aperture", for the few seconds it is visible in my dock, but Aperture just opens right up.
    Things I have tried:
    Delete the two files:
    com.apple.dock.db
    com.apple.dock.plist
Open terminal and type (with caps and space):
    Killall Dock
    And
Moved: "MacintoshHD/System/Library/SyncServices/AutoRegistration/Clients/com.apple.doc k" to the trash and restarted before messing with anything. As soon as I restart and disconnect from the network I try to place Aperture back in the dock and it either disappears within seconds or disappears on close even after I select "Keep In Dock".
Someone help, I always am able to figure out this stuff on my own but NOTHING has worked and its only Aperture at this point which leads me to believe it is Aperture and nothing to do with my dock.

  • Why can't I see my editing icons in word press

I have always used firefox and never had a problem, but the other day when I went to add a new blog post, I not only couldn't see my editing Icons such bold, italic, underline, font color, add a youtube etc. It wouldn't let me paste my article in to word press either. I cleared my cache etc but it was to no avail. When I logged in with IE I didn't have the problem. What could miraculously start causing this problem literally over night when I didn't change anything in my firefox settings? No it's not the color settings. I have it set to use the sites colors I checked that.

  • Apps icons not visible

I have downloaded some apps from the store and i have synced it to the ipod touch i am not able to see the apps icons but when i search the ipod touch its there, and i am able to use the apps, how can i make the apps icons visible??

@fpschmitt I tried taking them off of the ipod and then putting them back on in the app window of the sync session.  I have a feeling restore is the only thing that may help.  I am hoping that it isn't a software issue.  It is a ipod 3g

  • Apple Configurator Restriction not letting me see any apps

I am deploying 80 iPads and am about to pull my hair out. Now that the update issues between OSX 10.2 and configurator have been worked out, I thought that I'd sail right through this. Not so...
I am using a Bretford cart and keep getting stuck. Once I go through all of the steps of preparing and supervising, the apps are installed but I don't see the app icons anywhere and if I do a search for them on the iPad, nothing comes up.
I ran them all through iTunes and restored them all from a backup and they all looked the same and had what they needed on them, but obviously there weren't any restrictions and that's what I need. When I hooked them back up to Configurator to supervise them, I was able to change their names, add the profile and thought it would be done. Not so...
I went to settings on the iPads and see that all 17 are installed. I removed the student profile that I had set up in the iPads general settings and then I could see them all, but the camera icons, and others that I wanted to restrict are there as well.
I have "install apps" checked in the Restrictions in the profile that I created. I am obviously missing something, because otherwise what would be the point??!

When I set one up right out of the box in Configurator unsupervised, it gets all the way to "Tap device to install profile". The device itself wants me to set it up from scratch using the setup assistant.
Once I get all the way through it, the apps are there, but there is nothing to tap and the profile isn't installed.
I I selected "Prepare" again and unchecked "Erase before Installing" and then the install button appeared. However, once I installed the profile, the apps disappeared again, even though when I click on general- about - the name is right and it tells me that there are 17 apps installed.

Why can't I see the airplay icon in the music app or control centre on my Iphone 4 running ios7? I can see it in the movie app

I've seen something yesterday that says Airplay in control centre is only for Iphone 4S and onwards. It's frustrating when they take something away without any obvious reason. I'm going to change back to IOS6 until it's sorted out.
I also tried connecting to bluetooth and only once I'm connected does an icon show up in control centre. There's no direct way to connect to a device from control centre on the Iphone 4 from the looks of it.

  • In Icloud I can't see my "numbers" icon which i need to select "tick" to transfer data to my other devices via icloud. any ideas why it's not showing up?

In Icloud on my imac I can't see my "numbers" icon which i need to select "tick" to transfer data to my other devices via icloud. any ideas why it's not showing up?

You have to do it app wise, which means that the icon won't show up in settings, but you will be able to move files from your local drive to iCloud via the Numbers app (move... > choose the iCloud option).
It requires that you set up the same iCloud account on all your devices and that you have the latest version of Numbers on all your devices as well.

I am running OS X 10.5.8 and don't see an iCloud icon in my system preferences.  I do see a Mobileme icon but I would like to have all my mac devices on iCloud.  How can I get iCloud on my desktop?

iCloud requires 10.7.2 or later. See the following about how to upgrade:
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • Why are some app icons hi-def in the App Store, then pixelated when downloaded? (Even after uninstall/reinstall)? Any way to fix this?

Just as an example, TSN. The icon always appears as hi-def/Retina display in the app store if you search for it or it asks you to update, then when it updates it goes back to being pixelated. I can see if it is an app-specific issue but there are other apps like Bank of America which do the same thing. I don't think it's because they haven't updated the icon because they have, it appears perfect when viewed in the App Store. Uninstall/reinstall did not fix this. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated! It may sound minor, but it makes all the difference visually!

How pixelated could the app look like?  The only reason why the app icon could look pixelated, is if you are using the iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4th generation.  They obviously have an upscaled resolution, so the apps could not have been upscaled when downloading... I am not sure about this issue...
Like you said, it is a minor issue...
