i used to turn on wifi on my ipod touch and it would automatically connect but not i turn it on and i have to put in a password every time
- Try resetting the iPod. Nothing is lost:
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router.
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Netwok Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

For the past 2-3 months everytime I connect my iPhone or iPod touch to my laptop to update the software through itunes I have issues. I have tried download and install option and the download only option. When the progress bar gets to 100 % downloading and switches to start to install I get an error message that says something like connection issue/timed out/network something. My internet is working so what am I doing wrong when I didn't used to have this problem?
I've been getting timed out for 2 days now, what finally worked for me was not plugging the phone into the computer and just doing the update through my wifi, worked perfectly, took less than 15 minutes

I had discovered for me to connect to the internet on my Ipod Touch I need a Wireless Router or have some kind of WiFi connection, I don't have that right now but I Do Have a DSL Broadband Modem ( Westell). In My Ipod Touch Settings under the WiFi it says to choose a Network: there are 2 Options one is 2WIRE460 which is Locked the other says: Other where I have to put in a Network name, How do I get Pass this or how Do I set this up? after I set up a wireless and a WiFi system?

You can use the Mini and it's Airport Extreme card as a simple router so there is no need for the AEBS. You cannot sync the iPod touch by WiFi (Airport) but you can access the internet:
Go to menu > System Preferences... > Sharing > Internet tab.
Choose "+Share your connection from: Built-in Ethernet+" and "+To computers using: Airport+".
Click "+Airport Options...+"
Enter a Network Name of your choosing.
Check "+Enable Encryption (using WEP)+"
Enter a 13-character password twice.
Select "128-bit".
Press "Okay".
Press "Start".
Navigate to menu > System Preferences... > Sharing > Services tab.
Check "+Personal Web Sharing+".
You should now be good to go to use Safari.

MY IPOD TOUCH WON'T TURN ON ANYMORE!!
I don't know what happened. but I am beginning to think apple is ripping me and everyone off.
I don't know why I paid about 200-300 dollars for this iPod to be frozen or not turn on anymore!
When I downloaded Currency converter pro, it just froze my ipod.
Either it's that problem, or something is wrong.
I never dropped it in water or anything bad.
PLEASE HELP.Have you've tried holding down the power button for several seconds?
If so and you're still getting nothing you may have to do a hard restore.
here's how to do it on Mac OS:
1. Connect you're iPod to the computer with the sync cable, and open iTunes.
2. Hold down the power and home buttons for 10seconds, then release the power button (continue holding the home button for about another 6-8 seconds). iTunes should display a message stating that the iPod is in restore mode and needs to be restored before it can be used (or something to that effect).
3.Hitting the restore button will likely give an error message. You'll need to hold down option and click the restore button, which will bring up a file browser. Navigate to *<your user name>/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates/* and choose iPod2,12.2.1_5H11aRestore.ipsw (or similar ipsw file depending on your ipod, or iphone, generally choose the newest one) and click open.
4. Wait for it to restore, when that's finished you should be able to further restore it using the backup that was generated when you last synced it.
I have never done this on windoze, but I imagine it's quite similar, just not sure where you'd find the ipsw file. -
How do I prevent apps that I've downloaded to my Iphone from automatically downloading to my kids ipod touch. Also how do I prevent apps which my kid has downloaded to her ipod touch from automatically downloading to my ipad/iphone when I connect to the computer. I manage all through my same itunes account.
When you connect a device to ITunes go to the Apps tab for that device and uncheck "Automatically sync new apps". You will have to do this for each device.

Recently my iPod touch 4th gen. was stolen. I have had it for two years, so I don't have a warranty on it anymore. I reported it to the police, but what will apple do? This one kid reported to them that his was stolen and they gave him a new one. Will they do the same for me? Is there any other way I can get all my pictures from my iPod without iCloud set up? Would Apple be able to lock up my iPod so they cant use it at all? Please help me, thanks (:

IPod Touch 4G Not Turning On or Connecting to iTunes
I have no idea why, but my iPod Touch will not turn on. When I press the Home button, it will show the low power screen (but only when connected to a USB cable). Holding Home does nothing. Holding Home and whatever the button on the top is results in a brief white flash, then it goes completely black. It won't show up in iTunes, and I've tried everything I can find on Apple's Support pages. I've tried plugging the iPod in both before and after starting up iTunes, I've tried holding the Home button down before plugging it into the USB cable, and I've tried changing where the USB cable is plugged into the computer (despite it being the same port I've used for the past four months, with no real problems).
I'm not sure what, if anything, else I can do, but any help would be greatly appreciated.I'd tried soft-resetting several times (had a similar thing happen before, and that always worked). Don't know why, but I tried holding the Home button while plugging in the USB cable today (had tried it yesterday, with no luck, but I figured why not try again) and it seems to have worked. Read in another post about it shutting off for about 24 hours because of processor overload, but since I usually don't have more than one app running at a time, even in the background, I didn't think that could be it. Clearly I was wrong. Thanks for the assistance, though.

My iPod touch screen just turned a white-ish green color and I can't turn it on or off. I can't connect it to iTunes, and the back is too scratched up to see the serial number so I have no way of getting it. Can someone tell me how to fix it? Please tell me quickly! I was right in the middle of something!

Airport Extreme no connection to iPhone and iPod touch
Just bought a Airport Extreme model A1408(latest Sw update) and after setup I can connect to PV, but not with iPhone4 and iPod touch2 gen. that is also to guest net work and private net work, does not work. I have set up to; share public IP address as suggested here in the community and have ignored the doubble NAT as suggested here so light is green on the Extreme airport but still no allowed connection to iPhone4 and iPod touch 2 gen. I have connection and internet to normal PC and Apple TV so what am I doing wrong..??
It is likely that the AEBS(n) is blinking Amber because you have NOT implemented any form of Wireless Security and the AEBS(n) is annoyed at your laissez-faire security policy.
You really should implement either WEP (TSN) or WPA/WPA2. Use WPA/WPA2 unless the least robust security method available to you is WEP on your roommate's Dell laptop. If WEP, use WEP (TSN) and specify a 13 ASCII character (exactly 13) password. -
