Help on ActionScript and Flash

hi all
how to do like the picture above? when i click on the picture it will show the detail of the movie.
When i click on either the left picture or the right picture i will switch to the middle and the middle picture will move to the left picture whereas the right pic will been other movie.
How do i do that?
is there any example or reference for that?

[HELP] T61, red and flashing at the bottom-left corner of LCD.

I only bought this t61 one year ago. The warranty is already expired. :-(
I found this problem 2 weeks ago. Initially, just a little bit red showed at the bottom-left corner. Today, it spread to almost half of screen and flashing at same time.

Need help with php and flash

Hi,
hopefully anyone can help me out here I am working on a site
that has part flash and html in it. I am using php to dynamically
pull in the flash files from an includes folder. In doing so I have
uploaded everything to our preview server where I tested the site.
It works in firefox but not in the ie browsers, I thought this had
to do with active control, so I downloaded the extension but
nothing happened, still it works in firefox and not ie either 6 or
7. t

Looking at the source of your page, I note that you missed a
couple lines in the AC_FL_RunActiveContent embed. These 2 lines go
in the head of the page.

Help--XML text and Flash

Hi,
I'm relatively new to Flash and I (foolishly) said that I
could add a simple link at the end of an existing Flash file. The
link is no problem, but the movie calls all of its text from an XML
file. While I'm awed by how this works, I'm also stumped--I can't
get the movie to actually display the text. Here's the bit of
actionscript that refers to the XML file in question:

launchFile_str="advice";
launchFolder_str=""
xmlFileToLoad = "advice_AM.xml";
commonFolder_str = "./commonFiles/";
#include "loader.as"
I'm pretty sure that it's finding the XML file ok, as it's
pulling one or two headings from it, but nothing else. I know this
isn't much to go on, but you guys are my only hope. Is there
something basic I'm missing?

I figured it out--the CSS called for a missing font. When I
swapped that for a font I actually have, everything worked.

Help with IE7 and flash with spry

I been working on this site for some time and still need
help. I am using xml datasets to retrive the menus. I set of menus
- MenuBar1 are weblog, about the designer, and contact which work
on pulling the data into contentDiv division. I'm doing the same
thing for portfolio MenuBar2 which is setting a variable
xmlDataPath1 and then loading in flash using swfobject 1.5 into the
flashcontent divsion. This works in Safari Mac, FF Mac, and FF PC.
What does not work is IE7, the latest one. This was working in IE7
but you would get the click to activate. I ran the IE7 earlier this
week which did away with the click to activate but now the flash is
not loading. Well I think the flash is loading but not display, if
that makes sense. I had set a alert to output the value of
xmlDataPath1 which was correct.
Now I don't know what to do next to get this to work. Anyone?

Help with C# and Flash ActiveX

Hello,
I want to ask if anyone knows a way to know when a flash
movie has been played completly one time in a C# form. The main
idea is to make a flash movie playlist and when a movie finish
change the activex control to the next movie in the list.
Im using ShockWaveFlash activex Control.

How can I use LCCS with ActionScript 3 and Flash CS4?

Hi,
Using Stratus I was able to create an an application using Action Script 3 and Flash CS4. The sample code on the Adobe site was quite straight forward and easy to understand. I now want to switch over to LCCS but can't find anything any where on how to use Action Script 3 and Flash CS4 with LCCS. Do I need to know Flex to be able to use LCCS? Everything was quite simple and easy to understand with Stratus and makes complete sense. But LCCS is really confusing. Is there any sample code on how to establish a connection in Action Script 3 and then stream from a webcam to a client. There is nothing in the LCCS SDK that covers Flash and Action Script 3. Please help! I found the link below on some forum but it takes me nowhere.

Please refer to the SDK's sampleApps folder. There would be an app called FlashUserList. The app demonstrates how LCCS can be used with Flash CS4. Its a pretty basic app, but should help you moving.

After I finished it, everything was working well in flash and firefox. I have only one problem and question concerning the feed back form for sending info from my website to my emailaddres. I created my website “LisbonDreamWalking”in Flash CS5 pro. I herein have a contact page, where people can send an email for a walk in Lisbon, date,the number of people etc. Now I want through my ISP / host funpic.org, that the input, info text fields to be sended to my emailaddress [email protected]. My mail URL adress iss: http://lisbondreamwalk.li.funpic.org This is a free host, so they don't work with forms like in the course, and I need some additional info for the php. Actionscript help on semi-advance flash

So I'm trying to create a flat carousel similar to the one
located here

(as a side note before reading the 2nd half, my trouble is with
the thumbnail loop buttons)
I have created all the graphic elements, now I'm in the
planning stage of the actionscript, and this is where I'm hitting
some trouble, so if I could barrow some actionscript pro's mind
that would be awesome.
My thought process is to create a movie clip and have it be
replaced with images imported through an XML file (for easy
updating). After this part I run into trouble, I'm planning on
taking the MC that got replaced and duplicating it and running the
MC's side by side, and when one goes too far to the left or right
move it to the other end of the other MC, this way I create an
infinite loop.
My Questions:
so like how would you make one of the MC's reposition it's
self on the X axis to the end of the other movie clip once it has
moved far enough left or right ? (also what is the method you would
use to tell flash the limit that the MC is far enough left or right
and it should reset it's self?)
How would you make each thumbnail button change the image on
the main stage upon clicking the thumbnail button when all the
images are imported through the xml document?

First of all I would like to greatly thank you for all you
have done for me. It has been so useful and such a learning
experience getting to go through your personal code. and
manipulating it to my personal flash. Thank you so much!
However, I'm reaching some trouble when I try to import my
XML file, or something is just missing.
so here is the break down:
in my main .fla file I have this actionscript to import your
.as file (with modifications made to the name and package)
var Carousel:carousel = new carousel();
trace(Carousel);
now that seems to import into my FLA just fine, the trace
tells me that [object carousel] which I assume that means the
object has loaded into the FLA.
So anyway there is nothing on my stage in the main FLA, which
I assume is because the XML is not getting loaded properly into the
flash/actionscript.
My XML (minus all the images but one):

<icon image="icon1.jpg" />
</icons>
so this is the basic of my XML, when I import the xml into a
more simpler file the jpgs work just fine.
now I thoroughly went through your script examining every
functions and var and I'm able to understand majority of it however
parts of the import section is what confuses me, so if you could
help me understand the script more that would be amazing.
(the line numbers are probably off a little because I deleted
a couple unnecessary variables for my flash)
in line 57: urlLoader.addEventListener("complete", loaded);
why do you have "complete" instead of Event.COMPLETE... is
there a difference?
in line 81 & 82: var count1:uint = source.indexOf("/") +
1;
var count2:uint = source.indexOf(".");
please explain what "/" and "." means... do I replace it with
location of the nodes in my xml?
so yeah this is the gist of it, if you could help me figure
out how to import my XML properly that would be great, or if you do
not have the time do that maybe you could let me check out your
XML, piece it all together and figure out the difference of your
working copy and my unworking copy.

ACTIONSCRIPT 3.0 for AE and Flash CS5.5?

Good evening, I have no idea what's actionscript but I think it's cool. I'm willed buying a book but I have one here ( Flash CS4 The missing manual by Chris Grover) which has 7 lessons about Actionscript 3.0. Does it work for AE and Flash CS5.5? Do I have to buy another book? Which book you recommend? Thanks a lot again.

Do you mean After Effects? AFAIK, the file formats that After Effects outputs wouldn't support ActionScript.

Colour differences in Photoshop CS4 and Flash CS4 - help!

Hi,
I've been having problems for a while now when working with Photoshop and Flash, so now I will try to find an answer to my problem.
The thing is, when I try to take designs from Photoshop to Flash, the colours are changing/looking wrong. See my attached screenshot below.
The document in the upper part of the screenshot, is the Photoshop document. There is a blue gradient in the image and the left color of the gradient is RGB: 0/90/132 and the right color is RGB: 0/131/191.
The document in the lower part of the screenshot, is the Flash document. Here I have used exactly the same RGB colours to achieve the same blue gradient background. But as you can see on my screen, the colours look totally different. The colours in the Photoshop document looks clearer/darker.
How can I solve this problem and get the colours to look the same in Photoshop and Flash, and why do I even have this problem?

No one told me to use Monitor profile, I think it was default. I have
no knowledge about calibration of a monitor, but since it's a nice
Apple monitor i figured I wouldn't need to calibrate it.
When I open the file in Photoshop, Photoshop asks me whether to use
the embedded profile (sRGB in this case) or the working space profile.
And since I always use the emedded profile, I didn't think that it
would make any difference? The problem is still that I don't know any
way to set color handling in Flash, and the colors look all different
from Photoshop. What should I do?

Thanks for your suggestions. I checked to see if the options you suggested were set incorrectly but they were set to sync all. This led me to think the problem was actually in the iphone. I re-initialized the iphone and did not allow the system to restore any of the previous settings. In essence, I forced the phone to reset to factory settings. Then my video podcasts started syncing. All is well now. I did notice that I had seven podcasts selected that were "HD" presentations, and as such, are not compatible with the iphone. I don't know if this had anything to do with my earlier situation, but now I'm getting the video podcasts automatically. I'm happy. It wasn't much fun forcing the iphone to forget all of my preferences and I'm still customizing the phone now several days later. I think I have everything working and back to normal except I haven't identified any of my email accounts as of yet. Thanks for your help.

I know it was possible with actionscript 2.0 and actionscript

The single component is in your Library, which is all you
need. Just
start coding, and the classes should work just fine.
The three items showing on his website are taken from a
snapshot of an
older version of the component. Pieter changed it at my
request when I
discovered that his component didn't work in Flash CS4 (it
does now). That
wasn't his fault, by the way ... in fact, it wasn't anyone's
fault. Adobe
engineers corrected a bug in the way components are
implemented in CS4, and
that fix meant Pieter had to recreate his component ... which
may also be
true for many component developers.

problem started after downloading ADBLOCKER PLUS--removed that program, reinstalled Firefox, updated Flash to latest. Still no videos and can't view "photo albums" sent in Shutterfly.

You can export the bookmarks to an HTML file to have a backup.

You should always backup important personal data at regular intervals to prevent dataloss.

You can also use the Profile Manager to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br />
Then you can still revert to your current profile in case that is doesn't help.
