As deggie said, you are the victim of Activation Lock. Activation Lock is described here:

Either you need to contact the previous owner to release the phone from Find My iPhone, or if you cannot contact the previous owner, it is likely you received a stolen iPhone and it will be useless to you.

Check you are logged into your store account properly (settings > store). Also check there are no restrictions set that might be causing this (settings > general > restrictions) -

Have had an ipad mini for 6 months and it has been connecting perfectly to the home wifi but it has just stopped connecting this evening and all other devices seem to be OK.
Just got a new iphone today and wonder if that has had an effect but that is connecting OK as is my laptop.
Any help would be appreciatedProblem was fixed by rebooting the ipadmini using on/off switch on the side of the ipad

my upgrade from EE came out the other day so i got myself an iphone 5C pink. at first it was great everything worked got it all set up but last night after 1 full day of having it, it started to keep shuttting down and restarting and it was on charge and the bar wasnt going up as it was charging e.g. i could have had it on charge for an hour and it would still be at 2% charged. so i restarted the phone and it went up to nearly fullly charged but even this morning it still keeps retsarting and playing up.
What do i do?tried it thanks but still isnt working going to take it back to where i got it and get a new one

AAre you sure it's an iPhone 4, the highest iOS is 7, but a 4s can be on ios 8. Update the iOS on the 5, then restore it using your 4 backup

I just got an iPhone 4 and I'm trying to use it on the t mobile network. The thing is, I've tried restoring the phone so I could use it. I haven't tried my sim on other phones yet. But I will try to see if it works. The iPhone is supposedly factory unlocked btw. Anyways, when I put in my tmobile sim, it searches for the service, but it always ends up saying NO SERVICE. I checked that my network says that the "phone not allowed". So I don't have 3G on this phone I presume. I heard that you need 3G to have service is that correct? But how do I resolve it? The iPhone does know that my phone carrier is tmobile. It just says no service. And I've tried restoring it three times and turning it off and on and it won't work. I don't have a data plan for tmobile tw! Hopefully someone can help! Thank you so much in advance!
If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked. I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. 1) trying to set it up with the handsfree bluetooth builtin to my Prius. My previous iphone 4 had no problems. I go through the steps to pair it, my boothtooth is enables in the phone, the car gives me a 4 digit code and then searches but it looks like my phone doesn't pick it up. Eventually, the car gives up searching.
2) I had to enter a passcode when I was setting up my phone. I didn't realize what it was asking at the time and I now want to change my password. I have tried but it isn't letting me change it. How do I cnage the password for my phone? This is the password that is requested when my phone isn't used for a period of time (2 minutes).1) Try turning on the Bluetooth on your iPhone around the time the car gives you the 4 digit code.
2) Check Settings > General > Passcode Lock to change the code. -
I have just got an iPhone 4s on vodafone. I'm having problems with 3G, at the top it says Vodafone E, usually it would say 3G wouldn't it? At the moment my 3G isn't working. Anyone know what to do?
Yeah it does have that on/off switch and it's turned on. Siri won't work for some reason, I don't know if it's to do with this E thing?
