I have just got my iphone 5C and after less than a day of having it, it keeps shuttting down and restarting on me and playing up..what do i do?

my upgrade from EE came out the other day so i got myself an iphone 5C pink. at first it was great everything worked got it all set up but last night after 1 full day of having it, it started to keep shuttting down and restarting and it was on charge and the bar wasnt going up as it was charging e.g. i could have had it on charge for an hour and it would still be at 2% charged. so i restarted the phone and it went up to nearly fullly charged but even this morning it still keeps retsarting and playing up.
What do i do?

tried it thanks but still isnt working going to take it back to where i got it and get a new one

If the Settings app on your iPhone is not behaving correctly, first force close the application using this method:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app's preview up to close it.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check you are logged into your store account properly (settings > store). Also check there are no restrictions set that might be causing this (settings > general > restrictions)

As deggie said, you are the victim of Activation Lock. Activation Lock is described here:

Either you need to contact the previous owner to release the phone from Find My iPhone, or if you cannot contact the previous owner, it is likely you received a stolen iPhone and it will be useless to you.

Yeah it does have that on/off switch and it's turned on. Siri won't work for some reason, I don't know if it's to do with this E thing?

If you are having issues receiving iMessage messages across your iPhone and your Mac, you may want to double-check that your phone number and your Apple ID are correctly linked and that all your contact addresses/numbers are set up, as outlined in the following article:

I agree with wjosten. Sounds like a sim card issue. Was your sim card removed from a working,activated phone? I've switched sim cards in an iphone multilple times and never had a problem. You might try removing the sim card and reinstalling.

I have just got the iphone 4s and have been using the siri option, the problem is mine wont find me business etc in the UK it says that it can only search for business in the US. do i have to change any settings for this to pick up UK based items?

My ipad mini has stopped connecting to my home wifi. Have just got an iphone today and that connects OK and the house laptop still connects. Any suggestions to gt the ipad connected again

Problem was fixed by rebooting the ipadmini using on/off switch on the side of the ipad

My Iphone 3 got water damaged in June so i have just got an Iphone 4s. When i have turned on Icloud etc it has updated all my notes from my previous phone on to the new one as it has also done with my contacts, but it hasnt done the photo's. Any ideas?

I have been into Icloud and under 'Storage & Backup' and 'Manage Storage', I can see that my last phone was backed up a day before it was broken. I just cant find the option to transfer that data such as all my pictures and videos onto my new phone. My Notes and contacts have just transferred automatically and strangely, my old photo's that were taken and assigned to certain contacts are now assigned to my new phone as was, but they dont appear in my photo library anywhere. Hello again. Just to let you know I have solved the problem. Backed up my new phone. Then wiped all settings and everything off it to start again. When it relaunches it gives you the option to download from Icloud and you can pick from which back-up date you want to download it from. TS1506 I have just got a Mac Book Pro after 30 years of using Msoft products and now find a (in my opinion) a piddling issue with attachments in Mail - Apple - just fix it.

After over forty years in IT I am actually a platform agnostic however I have come to expect some developmental maturity across all products, especially in generally ubiquitous apps such as email. I am using OS X 10.8.3 on a 2013 build Mac Book Pro and am very happy overall. Is Apple planning on fixing the various problems with Attachments in Mail or are they relying on third party fixes and workarounds?

My apologies if I have caused offence, not my intention. I was unable to view attachements but have since discovered an addon app which solves the problem very neatly. By way of explanation my frustration comes from Apple appearing to indulge in client lock in as do Microsoft - this practice was "invented" by IBM and only served to irritate clients and inspire excellent work arounds by third parties - much the same as I notice with Apple. I thought Apple would have outgrown this after the IIe vs BBC but I see this is not the case. I have recently upgraded to Mavericks and have no problems with Mail but am now unable to transfer material from Mac Pro to Ipod unless I use the icloud - something I do not want to do for a variety of reasons, not the least being able to transfer MY data without the use of an unsecured transition area. I am very happy with the quality of the Mac Pro but less than happy with the restrictive practices of Apple; I realise Microsoft have similar practises but they are not as completely disruptive to what are generally simple operations commonly required when using computers.
My thanks to all the others who reponded - this is my first foray into the world of forums and I will continue to learn the rules.
