HT201328 I do not have the SIM card of the phone I am trying to unlock, does this mean I cannot unlock it? Can I do something else? (Btw my carrier is AT&T)
I have an iPhone4 which I am not using (I upgraded to the 5) from AT&T. However, I am international and want to use the 4 abroad. I am trying to unlock it, and I got the confirmation email from AT&T claiming that I could unlock it 24 hours. Problem is, I do not have my old SIM card. I threw it away thinking it was useless, since now I have another SIM card (same carrier—AT&T) but for the iphone5. Is there any way I can unlock my phone without that SIM card?
You do not need that particular SIM card, but you do need a micro-SIM card in it to process the unlock in iTunes.
You can use any micro-SIM though - beg or borrow one for the few minutes you'll need it to restore the phone as new in iTunes and process the unlock. Once it is unlocked and activated, you no longer need the micro-SIM in it to use it effectively as an iPod Touch. The unlock and activation processes do nothing to the SIM itself - it just needs to be present for those processes to complete.

The light on my Airport Extreme is flahing yellow, but I still have network access to the internet with no issues. PLus, I can still get into the network with my iPhone, too.
DO I have a problem (such as net work being hacked)?
Was going to shop and don't want my cc number scattered all over creation.
Thanks.Suggest the following:
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click directly on the word Status (2nd line on the summary page)
A window will open to explain why the amber light is blinking and offer suggested actions to remedy things.
If everything seems to be working OK, it might simply be a message that an update is available for your AirPort Extreme.
Now you know what to do next time the amber light is blinking. -
I have an older I-Phone (3G) that for some reason the body of the phone has split in two. This phone was a business phone and it had a lot of important information on it. I have a second phone that is also a 3G. On the broken phone there is a lot of important information that I need in my calendar. Im not worried about anything else but the calendar. I didn't have the Mobile Me account at that time or I would be having this problem. Does anybody know if I can ust switch out the sim cards. I just need to recover the old calendar, so im hoping that the calendar will transfer when I switch the sim card into the good 3G. If that doesn't work does anybody know of anyway that I can retrieve this information off of this phone?
Nothing is stored on the sim card on an iPhone. If you backed up to your computer the backup will contain your calendar events. Otherwise, if your phone isn't functioning there is no way to back up or extract your calendar at this point.

I have lost my iPad and would like to block it from being reregistered. It is a wifi only and does not have a sim card. I did not sign up for any tracking software either. Can apple block the serial number?
No.
Apple can do nothing.
You cannot block it from being "registered".
If you did not set up find my ipad before it was lost, then there is nothing you can do but change your passwords. -
I just bought a iPhone 5c with Verizon and I have a contract with Verizon but I don't have a SIM card but the former owner left theirs in it can I use it

does the verizon store sell nano sims because inever them on the site
A Verizon corporate store can provide you with a nano SIM and activate it for you. Corporate stores do not charge for SIMS. I don't know what a reseller might or might not do. -
I have two phones, one (4S) with Bell in Canada, the other (5, soon enough) with ATT in the US. Since I spend more time in Canada, I'd rather the 5 up there. Can I swap the sim cards? Neither phone is unlocked.
iphone 5 will use nanosim instead of microsim so that one won't work
you could check you with carrier to see if they will give you another sim though but I dunno if the ATT 5 will have the right data bands so you might not get LTE or w/e -
My iPhone 4s does not have a sim card slot at all .
i recently bought a iPhone 4d from someone, but neither of us know the apple id. And on top of that My Phone DOES NOT Have a Sim card Slot on the side of the phone. So now im stuck with this phone and i dont know what to do.

Verizon will only unlock your phone for international use.
Just to avoid any possible confusion, a Verizon-model iPhone 4 is a CDMA-only iPhone and can't be unlocked at all. The only way to use that model with another carrier is if Verizon has international CDMA carrier partners for international roaming, available only a very few countries.
Only the Verizon-model iPhone 4S or later is or can be unlocked for true international use.

the new iPad with 4g does it have to have a sim card in the slot for it to work so sometimes i can have4g and sometimes i cant
For it to work(iPad) no. You do have to have it in to get data when your not connected to wifi. If it doesn't say 4g all the time that is because of the location your in. If your connected to wifi, the iPad will use the wifi connection first before using your data plan.

HT4994 do i have to have a sim card in my phone for it to work
do i have to have a sim card in my phone for it to work
If you want it to work as a phone, yes, you must have a SIM, valid for the carrier you wish to use (and to which the iPhone is locked, if it is locked as many are). If you just want to use the iPhone as an iPod touch, then as long as the phone has been and remains activated, a SIM will not be necessary.

I just received my new iPhone 5c and cannot open it to insert the SIM card. The instructions say to "slide the back off" the phone but I cannot get it to open. Please help?
Huh...? Where did you get it? And what instructions are you looking at? The instructions do NOT tell you to slide the back off. The back doesn't come off. The Sim slot is on the right side of the phone. You use the tool that came with it or a paper clip to eject the SIM tray and put your Nano-SIM in it.
