HT202856 Do I need to buy windows 8.1 to use 4k monitor in rMBP?

According to this thread(https://discussions.apple.com/message/23656434#23656434), 2013 rMBP hardware is capable of 4k displays at 60hz.
Should I buy and install windows 8.1? Im using asus pq321.
Or do we have a chance to get the os x update for the 4k display at 60hz?

To conclude for Lenny7118, it is possible to resize your partition after the installation. But it's up to you to use the free way, which need time, or camptune.

Just install CS5, enter your CS5 serial number then enter your CS4 serial number when prompted.

Do I need to buy Labview RT module to use CRIO?

I got very confused with too many LABVIEW versions and modules. I have a Full Development LABVIEW. I purchased a CRIO 9073 that I would like to write code for. However, my first obsticle is with initial configuration inside of MAX. I formated the disk, but I can't upload software to it. I get conflicts and dependancies errors(such as missing RT SCAN engine and many more) that let me to believe that I am missing a Real-Time module. Sounds like I need to buy RT module separetely from Labview. What I would like to figure out is whether RT and FPGA modules come with Professional development system or I still need buy these two modules separetely. It sucks that I purchased CRIO9073, but apparently I don't have right software to use it.

There's a procedure for using a Fieldpoint RT controller without the RT module, you could see if the same thing will work for the cRIO (install RIO support instead of Fieldpoint support), but don't be too surprised/disappointed if it does not work.

You don't have to download Boot Camp Assistant — you already have it in your Utilities folder.

My Mac has only got 5.6.1 Airport loaded on it. Just bought AirPort Extreme and says need to have at least 6.1 or newer. Computer wont let me download 6.1 says its not compatible. Dose this mean i need to buy a new computer to use it?

Need menu bar on BOTH displays when using external monitor

How can I have the menu bar on BOTH displays without using the "Mirror Display" mode???
I bought a Thunderbolt and use it with my MBA. It works fine overall but this is still like having one display instead of two. A real downer!!
There are 2 modes:
Mirror Displays: (identical screen: why waste valuable screen realestate?)
"Normal" mode: where it gives you access to the 2 monitors independently (you can move apps. windows and locate them on any screen you want).
In the "Normal" mode, you can move the menu bar from one display to the other but it does not resolve the problem. We need TWO menu bars, which work identical and can be used on whatever display the mouse cursor happens to be.
Currently, let's say I have applications A & B displaying on MBA, applications C & D displaying on TB, and the Menu Bar on TB. It is a nightmare to work!!!! Anytime I want to work on A or B I have to move the mouse side way to get to the MBA, then to use the menu, I can't even move up into the TB all the way to the menu bar: I have to move through the side onto the TB then up to the menu bar, select, down through the TB, side way to the MBA, and on and on and on....
Anybody knows how to duplicate a functional menu bar without Mirror Display?
Anyway of simplifying this nightmare?

Application windows off screen while using external monitor

Hi,
I am using my MacBook frequently with an external monitor attached (lid closed). It happens now, that some applications (e.g.Finder) open windows outside of the screen. What can I do?
This is especially annoying when I want to copy a file and Finder opens the 'Replace/Stop' window and I can't do anything because this windows is outside of the screen (I only see it when pressing F10).
Any ideas?

I had this happen last night. I was moving a window and it dissappeared. It was off screen. I could see it wit F10 but that was all. What I did was close the window under file in toolbar. Then I opened a new window under the same command in the toolbar. This brought the new window up in the visible window. Hope this helps.

Recovery disk or buy windows???

I will take my computer to a company to have it cleaned/erased, because of a virus, If I order the recovery disk, is the disk all that I need or will I have to buy windows?

Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. No need to buy Windows (which you already paid for).
You probably don't even need to order the recovery discs. And you probably can do it yourself from the image on the hard drive.

New Mac user needs help installing windows.

Hey Everyone,
I just bought a macbook and I want to put Windows on it.
My question is, how do I do that with bootcamp? Is that btw the best way to do it? And where can I get a cd with Windows on it, do I need to buy it somewhere?
Or is the cd-rom included with old pc's??

You can try using Screen Sharing in the Sharing preferences. Or try a third-party utility such as ScreenRecycler.

You must use the same Apple ID as the one used to purchase them in the first place. Just open App Store and sign in with that Apple ID. It should put you in the proper store. If not, you only need to change country to the one used for that Apple ID.

As vazandrew said, Boot Camp will work with any standard copy of Win 7.
The only exception would be if you want to run it in a virtual environment, such as with Parallels or WMware.
I personally recommend Boot Camp, however, since it only uses the resources for one OS at a time.
