Hi,

She has an iphone 3.
Daryl
Hey Dazr12,
Just send the following steps to your friend:
1) Make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed on your computer. The latest version is available free of charge from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
2) Click the following link to launch iTunes and display the Redeem page:
https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/freeProductCodeWizard
Note: If this link doesn't work for you, simply open up the iTunes application, click iTunes Store on the left, and when the iTunes Store homepage loads, click the "Redeem" link in the upper-right corner of the page.
3) Enter your 12-digit gift code and click the Submit button.
4) A message will appear confirming that your gift code has been redeemed. If you don't have an account, you can create one at this time.
hope this will work

I have a MacBook running OS X v10.6.8 and I'm trying to upgrade to Mouton Lion but I can"t download it from the app store. It says I need a intel core duo which i have. does anyone know whats happening here?
Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) model number 5,1 or higher
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better - 4 GB minimum seems to be the consensus)
8 GB or more of available space
If your computer isn't compatible, you might be able to upgrade to Lion.
Computer Compatibility - Lion
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
Application Compatibility
You can also check which applications are PowerPC by going to the menu, select About this Mac, click on More info…, then click System Report and select Software/Applications. -
I bourght "E O Wilson's Life on Earth" and backed it up to my iMac. Now it won't sync back to my iPad because it says I don't have permission on this computer. I don't want to download it from iTunes again because it took up a lot of bandwidth. What's the deal?
I also made the big mistake of downloading a free book about the making of the movie "Frankenweenie." Mega-memory eater. Now it wants to download additions and started to do so---now says paused. I can't delete the bloody thing. Seems like nothing I've downloaded, including free books, can be deleted. How can I get rid of this garbage?
Is there any way to just transfer my music from my iMac to my iPad and not affect anything else on my iPad? The whole iBooks thing is just a mess as far as I'm concerned. Is there any way to just drag and drop?"I have logged in to my itunes account on a different computer and none of my purchased music is showing up."
Correct. it does not magially appear in other places. It will only be where you put it.
"I also have plugged my iphone in to get updates but it says I will lose all media and apps if I don't update on the computer where I sync everything. "
Correct as well. Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one. -
can you download songs from itunes match from the cloud to your iPhone ie for times when you dont have internet connection?
Unless you have an Internet connection you cannot access iCloud. You can download your music from iCloud to store permanently on your iPhone, but only when you have an Internet connection to do so.

I "sent as gift" two songs to a friend. She can't find them. Are they sent to her in an email? Will they download during a sync? How can we recover the songs and get them to her iPhone?
Try going to iTunes Store from the left column, then Account, then Purchase History, then Manage Gifts.

We have downloaded apps to our pc but we can't get them on our ipod touch. We have synced our ipod to our computer. We can't even get them when we are some where there is wifi. We don't have wifi at our home and was hoping to be able to plug it into our computer and get everything from our computer to our ipod but it doesn't work. What do we do?
Sync them from your iTunes library:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Syncing overview
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
Note that you can only sync apps from the one syncing computer/library that yo can have. If the iPod was synced to another computer/iTunes libary or set up via wifi then to make this computer/itunes library your syncing computer/library:

I have plenty of storage space on iCloud, but whenever I try to download songs from iTunes a popup says my storage space is full. Any help please?
The storage space you have on your phone and the storage space you have available in your iCloud account are not the same thing. You need to remove some items from your phone, if you are to free up space to download items from iTunes.

Can't download anything from itunes/app store after 5.0.1
I've read a few discussions on this topic but have yet to find any solution that works, so I'm reposting hoping someone has an idea.
We have an ipad 16gig, and recently updated to iOS 5.0.1. (via WiFi, this isn't a 3G model). Immediately after setting up after the update, the iPad can no longer update apps, download new apps, download iBooks, download songs, podcasts ... basically anything from the iTunes or App store. All are met with the message:
"Unable to Download (name here) - (name here) could not be downloaded at this time." with a Done or Retry button.
The same thing occurs for all apps, music, podcasts, etc... same message each time.
During the setup after the update was installed, we agreed to the new iTunes/App Store agreement, so I don't think it's that case where iTunes can't do anything because the Agree option got lost somewhere. I also don't have any downloads pending that need to be paused.
Solutions I have tried so far:
1. Restarting and resetting the iPad, both via the power button, and holding down the power button / home button.
2. Signing out of iTunes/App store, re-signing in, with two different Apple IDs.
3. A full restore of the iPad from my computer via iTunes.
4. Attempting to buy something free from iTunes or the App Store (somewhere this was suggested as a solution). Some descriptions of this solution implied it was to force itunes to ask you to agree to the new TOS, this hasn't happened, and we agreed to the new TOS when 5.0.1 started up.
5. Resetting my router. Didn't think this was the issue but did it anyway.
Googling the issue, apart from the above solutions, I've encountered something about "permissions" on a folder to which apps are downloaded being set wrong by the update, but I have no clue how to address that, it seemed to have something to do with "jailbreak" ipads of which this is not.
I'm about ready to take it to the Apple store but I was hoping I could find something online first, and spare confusing some poor Apple employee.I found a solution, and it's horrible.
1. Back up your data. I used iCloud, but I also made a restore file through itunes, though you CAN'T USE THAT RESTORE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. It will just install the problem anew! Delightful!.
And then, basically do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 which translates to:
2. Settings > General > Reset > Erase all data
3. Set up your iPad as a new ipad - if you choose to restore from an old restore file, you'll just reinstall the original problem.
4. Connect to iCloud to reclaim your iCloud stuffs.
5. Spend the next hour annoyed and frustrated as you restore your music, photos, apps, etc... to what you think you had them.
But miraculously, this let our ipad download apps again.
Again, restoring from a backup will not fix the problem.
All this speaks to some issue that requires the drive on the ipad to be reformatted with new permissions, or something, which is pretty **** annoying. Waiting to see the problem re-appear after it's finished syncing my music. Hurray! -
Can't download anything from iTunes/App store
For the past week, everytime I try to download anything from the App store or iTunes I get a message saying "Unable to Download App" then it says "name of app/song trying to download" could not be downloaded at this time. Done or Retry.
I have logged out of iCloud, iTunes and my AppleiD and nothing has worked. I went online on my Mac and updated my credit card (which was not out of date) and tried to buy a sont on my Mac...purchased, but could not be downloaded. All my devices are having the same problem. In the Error details on my Mac it says to check the Internet connection and try again. My wifi is working fine on my mac and iPhone.
Any suggestions?
iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1, since last iOSupdate was installedI found a solution, and it's horrible.

I have a 16gig iPad mini with latest iOS software.
Please can anyone advise on the following.
If I buy a movie on iTunes, can I download it onto my iPad and keep it there?
If I then delete it, can I download it again free?
If I do not have my iPad with me, can I watch it online through iTunes? The film will need to be downloaded in order to watch it, you can't stream it from the store. Whether you can re-download a film will depend upon what country that you are in and whether it remains in the store (studios occasionally remove them). You are better off keeping your own backup copy of all of your downloads rather that relying on being able to re-download from the store in the future (you can copy purchases from your iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases)
What can be re-downloaded where : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085
You can also get wifi-enabled drives which allow you to stream your content to your iPad, so not everything needs to be stored on it e.g. GoFlex Satellite (there are other makes as well). -
TS1702 I gifted an app to my friend but they haven't received it yet
I sent the app to their email address but they have not recieved it yet. Is it hiding in their app store or do they need to set up an I tunes account to retrieve it.
They should get an email still I'd think. If they haven't received it, try having them make an apple I'd incase. When I gifted one to my mom, it was hiding in her spam folder.

After updating to ios 7, I have tried to update my apps and I can't. I press update and put my password in, the blue circle goes round, but in a few seconds, it stops and acts as if nothing happened in the first place.
Please help, as I can't play a game as it needs the new update!
Thank you. This has been happening to a few people right after upgrading. Just wait and give it some time and you will get the updates. The other thing you may see for a while is that there are updates available, which in fact, have already updated previously. THose go away magically on their own.
If you're feeling impatient, you could try to sign out of the App store from your Apple ID then sign back in. Not sure that's really helping anyone, but it may. -
Can't download music from iTunes or App Store on iPhone
I have an original iPhone, and it has worked great from day one. However, recently I have noticed that I cannot download music or apps from the iTunes/App Store directly to my iPhone.
I choose a song or app to download, the download begins and then I get a message that the download cannot be completed until the next time I sync with iTunes on my computer.
When I sync to my computer, the download is completed.
This did not happen when the iTunes Store first became available, just started recently, but before the last iPhone software update.
Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? Most purchases are immediate. I'd try making a purchase on your computer and see if this problem persists. If it does, you may want to update your billing info (like if the CC expired)
You could also try signing out of your Apple ID by going to Settings<App Store<Sign out. And then sign back in, and see if the same issue happens.
