HT204370 I ran out of time before I got chance to watch my movie.

Can I download it again?

Not without paying again, anyway. It's just like renting a physical DVD; if you get to the end of the allowed time, you have to pay again if you still want to watch the movie.
Regards.

  • Engineer ran out of time!!!!

An engineer came today to fix my slow speeds and ran out of time to fix it, he knew what it was and told me to tell the next engineer what the problem was.
    Is this the normal procedure?

You may have had an Option 1 engineer - they are quite severely bandwidth limited. The Option 3 engineers can stay for an unlimited period subject to the Fair EngineerWork Policy, although they work slower in peak periods. (Joke)
Thank you Linda_Smith. Having just read this I have just expelled ones cup of tea from ones mouth onto ones keyboard!
@dolphincutieuk. A suggestion. When the next engineer visits let him know that you contribute on the BT Community Forums. Tell him that everything so far has been fully documented. You'll be suprised how well he'll work

No. Netflix is solely a streaming service and does not provide downloads. If you want downloaded movies, buy or rent from the iTunes Store. Note that in some cases people have found that rented movies still require connection to the ITunes Store to play, for reasons I have yet to figure out, so purchases are safer.

Did you fail to backup your computer?
If so, not good, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • HT201272 I recently rented a movie and it did download but it stop half way because I think it didn't downloaded all the way and I ran out of time how can I download it again I didn't watch the last 40 minutes and I payed 4.99. And this is not the fist ti

Am ****** I rented a movie and it didn't download all the way but it played more than sixty minutes and the. It stop

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • Ran out of data before plan expired

I currently have the 2GB plan for iPad wifi = 3G and I only have 56GB left for 2 days.
If I go to my settings > cellular data > View Account and select the 2GB plan again, does the plan start as of today or will it wait for my expiration date?
If it's the latter, how do I get more data so I can use it over the next 2 days?
    Thank you

With the 250 MB or 2 GB data plan options, you will receive an on-screen alert when the amount of data in your plan is low or when the plan is about to expire. If you exceed the amount of data on your plan, you may immediately purchase an additional data plan or wait until the current plan automatically renews at the end of the 30-day period. Plans expire when you have used all the data included in your plan, or in 30 days, whichever occurs first. http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/ipad.jsp

  • I used to have a IPhone3 about three years ago, unfortunately i do not have it anymore. My question is is there a way to obtain deleted text messages from my phone number from a short period of time before i got rid of my phone?

About three years ago in 1012 I had an iphone3 sent and deleted text messages of course and as of now those text messages are needed for an upcoming court case i will be involved with. So is there any way to retrieve those text messages from three years ago. I am just in need of the text messages from February 2012 on. So its about 6 to 10 months of texts. what do I have to do to get them back if possible???

As the others noted, if you don't have any older iTunes backups then the deleted messages would not be recoverable. The free trial of Decipher TextMessage will show you if there are any text messages in your older backups that can be recovered.

  • Downloaded 1.1.2. & all I get -Error Message: Device Out Of Time?

Well, ever since I downloaded to 1.1.2., I have nothing but problems! Can not sync my iPhone! Getting error message: "Unable to sync your iPhone - Device ran out of time." I tried "restored" and got a new dock - still no luck.
    Someone please help!

I believe your PB has USB 1.1 ports and if so, there have been some problems reported with this iPhone update and/or with the recent iTunes update by those with USB 1.1 ports which isn't officially supported by Apple for the iPhone regardless.
    Have you called AppleCare?

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight as described here. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can also use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • Time Machine:The backup disk ran out of space unexpectedly. .....

    Hi,
I upgraded to Mountain Lion when it was released and yesterday I began getting this notice from Time Machine:
"The backup disk ran out of space unexpectedly. Time Machine will try to make more space available by removing expired backups during the next scheduled backup."
I have a one terra external hard drive with exclusively Time Machine.  It says it has 3.4 gigabytes available, but isn't deleting old backups and making room for new, like before.  I tried the "encrypting" solution, but it still keeps on giving me this message.  Should I erase and format?  If so, what option should I chose to format?
My Hard Drive has 240 gigabytes, so 1Tb should be more than enough.
    Thank you!
    Gloria

SuperDuper and Time Machine are two completely different backup utilities. If you want something like what SuperDuper does then don't use Time Machine. You have many other options that won't use up all the space on your backup drive:
    Backup Software Recommendations
    Carbon Copy Cloner
    Data Backup
    Deja Vu
    SuperDuper!
    Synk Pro
    Tri-Backup
Others may be found at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on backup and restore.  Also read How to Back Up and Restore Your Files.
Do the following to erase your drive:
    Erase a Drive
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.

If your intention is to use the trial again it will not reset if you reinstall.  It will remain in its ran out state.

Go to the airport utility and erase the TC disk.. a quick erase is fine and takes less than 1min usually.
A one pass erase takes several hours depending on how big the hard disk is.. but is somewhat safer in that it tests the drive condition. I normally don't bother for a TM backup.
When you start over you should be able to fit both backups on the TC.. assuming the disk is 2x larger at least than the space used on both the MB and the iMac.
If not you can also add a USB drive to the TC, and use that for one of the computers.
The slowest one is best.. as USB is slow.. but fast enough for wireless you won't notice much.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

My iPhone is displaying a "iPhone is disabled" notification. It asked me to enter my password multiple times before locking me out. Can you help with this?

    Hey there!
Unfortunetly, in situations like this, the ONLY other way to bypass that four-digit passcode and/or a disabled device is to connect to a computer with the most recent version of iTunes (11.1.3), connect the device in Recovery Mode and restore it to factory settings. Restoring to factory will completely wipe the device, including the four-digit passcode.
The steps to do so are outlined in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
(If there is any other way to bypass the passcode, it would have to be third-party, which I am not familiar with any program that can, sorry!).
