HT2497 I hooked up the time capsule..set up a password..green light came on..then it would not connect to the isp. What do i do?
Not an expet...want to use time capsule but it won't connect to the internet..any ideas?

I am trying to setup my Time capsule via a ethernet cable as a back up for a new iMac. The on button on the time capsule set up window keeps failing to stay on. Any ideas what to do?
A PC can have more issues connecting than a Mac.
But it really should not matter.. so just try it in situ.. press and hold the reset.. once it starts up, it will return to default IP, 10.0.1.1 the PC should then be able to find it via the airport utility.
If not drag it over to the Mac and plug in there by ethernet.. or since it is a laptop, really should not be that difficult to drag the Laptop and plug it into the TC.
Important thing is to get access to the TC.
The Mac if it is running lion, then you MUST download and install 5.6 airport utility to do anything useful.

I have 2 different MacBooks (owned by 2 people) connected to the same Time Capsule over a wifi network. I want to use the Time Capsule to back up both MacBooks separately from each other. Can one person access the hard drive of the other person, on the same Time Capsule? Is there a way to ensure that the files on the 2 laptops are kept private from each other? Thanks!

Security on a Time Capsule is a bit like installing a lock on a tent. It will keep the honest folks out, but probably not the others. -
I have activated the passcode lock on my iPad sometimes ago and now I foregot it, I entered several passcode but non was correct, now the iPad nis disabled and would not connect to the iTunes. what can be done to unlock my iPad?
If you've forgotten the passcode then you will need to connect the iPad to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808

Did you download the Windows support software when you first ran Bootcamp Assistant? Did you install the downloaded Windows support software when you first booted into Windows?

I just went from PC to MAC. Have a MAC Mini and wanted to get a time capsule for backups. I would like to use it as a wired device instead of wireless. Would me connecting it to my router do the trick? Can I then use the LAN ports in the back of the capsule like I would a network switch? Can I just disable the wireless router part of the capsule as I already have an ADSL2+ Wireless Router.

You still don't have to use a TC.. which is still a rather expensive box for the job.. an Airport Extreme would offer the same exactly minus hard disk for cheaper price and more than likely better lifespan.. TC with internal power supply run too hot. -
the time capsule is giving flashed amber light and i cant connect it to my mac book pro. i want to use it with the time machine to make backup for my mac. please advice me.
To do the setup, plug it in via ethernet.. do not try to setup over wireless.. Once it is setup you can plug the TC into the network and use wireless.
Most likely you will use the TC in bridge to an existing modem router.. but we cannot help as you have no details of the network setup.
I do recommend in the setup of the TC you use SMB type names.. that means, short, no spaces pure alphanumeric.. as later Mac OS do have issues with long names, spaces and that apple shocker, the apostrophe. -

Thank You for the support.I was having the same problem and the culprit was my web accelerator via Google Firefox. I have to turn of the accellerator before itunes will connect. Try that.

I am using a Mac for video editing but due to company rules it can not go on the net with that computer. I have AfterEffects 5 but I need AfterEffects 6 for a project. I wanted to download the trial from Adobe.com but it wants to install on the designated "internet" computer which is of course a Win based computer and not the one that is set up for video editing.
So how/from where can I get the full AE6 trial downloaded onto my Win based computer and then transfer it to my Mac, then of course activate it on the Mac for the 30 day trial period without having to put that computer on-line?I am sorry Juditka but I do not know of any downloads for After Effects 6.0.

Help! I have an iPod Touch 5th generation with iOS 8.1 that I just purchased two days ago. I am of the early 70's generation and this is all new to me. I have wifi at home because i have a laptop. I want to use my iPod mainly for creating playlists and then playing it through my stereo. When I turn my iPod on, it automatically connects to the internet. How can I control when I connect to the internet? I am not a kid wanting to use all the "gadgets" please help me so I don't feel that I've totally wasted all of this money on this purchase! Hey Evawantsin, turning off Wi-Fi as suggested by Illaass will do the trick, but how are you connecting to your stereo? If it uses Wi-Fi, then you need to turn the Wi-Fi on for music sessions. If through Bluetooth your fine, or do you use a physical connection like a dock, USB to lighting cable or do you just plug in through the headphone port with a patch cable? Also, you can down load the iPod Touch Users Guide for iOS 8 for free from iTunes. It will answer most questions, or at least point you in a direction. Hope this helps. Good luck, Cheers.

when I go to "settings" on my iPhone 5 and hit the "Bluetooth" tab, the circular icon next to "Devices" is constantly spinning, ans now I can't get the phone to sync with the bluetooth in my car, etc.

I am a regular patient at a local hospital that provides free internet access to patients AFTER they accept terms and conditions. I have had no problems until recently when instead of redirecting to the systems acceptance page, I started getting a message that I was not conected to thye internet.
This began about 4 weeks ago and continues. I do not have redirect blocked and have tried Safari, Firefox and Google Chrome to no avail. Please give me some ideas.

I want to use the Apple Time Capsule as an external drive and continue to use my Airport Extreme for all my wireless needs. Can I do that? The reason I ask is that my Time Machine utility cannot find the TIme Capsule - it only shows me the Airport Extreme, even when I "Rescan". SO I am unable to use the Time Capsule.
You will need to connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Extreme to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule.
Perform a "hard reset" on the Time Capsule by holding in the reset button for 9-10 seconds, then give it another minute to restart to a slow, blinking amber light.
Open AirPort Utility, select the Time Capsule, and click Manual Setup
Click the Time Capsule tab located below the row of icons to assign a name to the Time Capsule, a device password, and adjust Time Zone settings.
Next, click the Wireless tab located to the right of the Time Capsule tab
Change the setting for Wireless Mode to Off
Click the Internet icon, then click the Internet Connection tab
Connect Using = Ethernet
Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
Click Update at the lower right to save the settings and allow 30 seconds for the Time Capsule to restart to a green light.
