HT3209 Why am I getting this message on my new MacBook Pro 15" Retina notebook??

Soooo... dropped nearly $3,000 the other day on my new MacBook Pro 15" with the amazing Retina display.  Tonight I finally picked a movie I wanted to purchase in HD, and got the message "This cannot be played in HD on this computer.  If you buy the HD version, you will have to transfer it to an HD-compatible device in order to watch it. Or, you can buy the SD version and watch it on this computer."
Why on earth is this message showing up on my new Mac?  Is this machine not the very definition of HD notebook computing?  What's the deal Apple?
I guess I'll watch premium cable tonight, I'm sure as **** not buying the SD version on this Mac.

Did you try the Parallels site, since it is Parallels you are having troubles with?
