I no longer have an email address that was also my Apple ID. Can I still use the email address as my Apple ID?
Apple recommends you change your Apple ID to your current, working email address. This will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address. See Changing the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information.
Note: @mac.com and @me.com Apple IDs can not be renamed. If you no longer use the .mac or .me email address be sure to add your valid email address as an additional email address.

This isn't the first time something like this has happened but it has never stayed this way for such a long time. If I have to send it in for repairs I will but I'm not sure if its under warranty

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

I understand that your iPhone is not booting up past the Apple logo. In this situation, I would recommend working through the troubleshooting steps located in the attached article.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

I just got an iPhone 4 and I'm trying to use it on the t mobile network. The thing is, I've tried restoring the phone so I could use it. I haven't tried my sim on other phones yet. But I will try to see if it works. The iPhone is supposedly factory unlocked btw. Anyways, when I put in my tmobile sim, it searches for the service, but it always ends up saying NO SERVICE. I checked that my network says that the "phone not allowed". So I don't have 3G on this phone I presume. I heard that you need 3G to have service is that correct? But how do I resolve it? The iPhone does know that my phone carrier is tmobile. It just says no service. And I've tried restoring it three times and turning it off and on and it won't work. I don't have a data plan for tmobile tw! Hopefully someone can help! Thank you so much in advance!

If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked. I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. This device is not eligible for the requested build: Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194." If you receive this alert, update to the latest version of iTunes. Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, follow Troubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. First you must uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer, then edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from the hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the headingBlocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. The colors are no longer on my calendar, I have blank boxes where delete and other actions should be, and I can no longer check the little boxes to the left of emails but the star feature does work. How can I fix this?

To the right of "MAIL" I have blank boxes.
When I click on the boxes to the left of in box emails instead of a check mark, there is a straight line on the far left side of the box and the mark disappears as soon as you click on another entry.

You can control this from Mail Preferences on your computer. Open Mail, go to Preferences, and select Accounts.
Go to your MobileMe account and select Mailbox Behaviors. Next to Trash, select Store Deleted Messages on the Server.

The problem would seem to be in the firewall in your router. Have you tried disabling it? I assume you've updated the router firmware, right? Consider bypassing the ISP provided router (using it as a modem only) and unsing another device such as an Aiport Express.

I'm trying to update to firefox 6.0, but the download stops at 79%. How can I fix this? It occurs even after restarting my Mac.

I've been using firefox with my Mac book. Yedsterday, I got a message to update from version 3.6 to 6.0 in 3 steps. Step 1 was to download version 6.0. It appeared on the list of downloads as Firefox 6.0 dmg. However Step 1 , which was to open the download, stopped at 79% of the download version. So I have not been able to update to version 6.0.

I want to make sure you're using the auto-update system, because that's the safest most reliable way to go, and it shouldn't appear in the download manager, so I lets make sure you're doing it right. <br/>

In a group I can receive iMessages, but only respond as a text. How can I fix this without deleting the thread?

I had been sending group imessages in a thread earlier in the day on my iPhone 5 and later when I got my iPhone 6 I received an iMessage in the thread and sent an iMessage back, but when the other person responded it showed up as received from unknown. Once that happened I can still receive iMessages from the other two people in the thread, but I can only send a text back. If I send an iMessage individually to each person everything is fine and as it's always been. It's just the when I send a message in the group. I've tried signing out of iMessage and turning off iMessage and restarting my iPhone. Nothing seems to work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Disabling Group Messaging has no effect on iMessage behavior. Responses to group iMessages are always sent to all recipients.
Group messaging with MMS requires an appropriate plan from your carrier for use on iPhone.
Carrier messaging rates may apply when using group messaging with MMS.

It is not possible to remove yourself from a group message.
To add or remove recipients, you must create a new group message conversation.
