HT4528 whenever i try to download a free app on Iphone 4, it asks for my password. It then returns to the"free" sign with a "+". It will not let me download apps. help!
Whenever i try to download a free app, I click, "free", It then breifly says "installing" before requesting my password. After i put in my password, it does not install, but instead now once again says "free" but sometimes with a small "+" sign. Please help!
There are a variety of acceptable forms of payment. If you don't want to use a credit card purchase and enter an iTunes gift card. You will not be charged for free apps but you do need to have an acceptable form of payment entered at this point.

When upgrading or downloading certain apps, my iPhone 5C is asking for a password to an account that's not even mine. I want this removed.
It will be an App that you personally did not buy using your Apple id ( an App purchase locks the App to the Apple id used to buy permanently, to prevent piracy )
Next time you get the message check which Apps are trying to update ,it will be one or all of those Apps -

On your iPad tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account - that should give you a payments link on your account's page. Or on your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should also be a payment link.

while downloading my free upgrade to Mountain Lion, my computer said "Error 403" occured and could not download the file. It gave me the option to retry and i pressed that button but the window continued to pop up telling me about the error so i pressed cancel and the entire download closed. I went back to try an redownload the fiel form itunes but it will not let me.
Do you mean App Store? I had the same error as you, but after a restart, it was there in my App Store under Purchases and I just downloaded it again.

"App world"? That is for Blackberry devices.
If you're trying to download apps for the iPhone from anywhere other than Apple's own AppStore, you can't. -
My ipo will not let me download apps or sync them either.
There are a million ppl having this problem right now and it seems like Apple is ignoring it. It's been real bad since May, even worse that last week or so. Basically all we can do is sit and wait to see what excuse or help, if any, will be given. I've used a Walmart pre-paid card and I'm sorry, but who really incorrectly types a 3 digit number a million times?! Also my account is saying I owe iTunes $40 for in-app purchases. Bull!! My card sends me a balance twice a day via text and because of this, I know what, where, and how my money is being spent. Also it's pre-paid, how can you have an over draft?!?! Here's a real kicker though...my card balance is in the positive!!! Hmmm, obviously not a fault on my part, the part of my card, nor my iPod. It's all in the system!!!

For the 2nd day my iPhone 5 will not let me download updates for apps. I've tried selecting each to click off wait, and have selected new updates indvidually instead of all together. Also have shut the phone down and have even deleting the apps completely and re-downloaded but to no avail. Each app continues to sit on my screen with the line below as if it is about to download but never does, and now any apps I've tried to updated will not let me use them.
Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
