  • HT4539 I downloaded a song but then my computer froze so i went back and it said i had already purchased the song. How do I authorize my computer for automatic redownloads?

It says I need to authorize my computer?

That sounds like the track might be damaged (rather than there being an authorisation issue on the PC).
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

I am trying to figure out how to reset it but I don't want to loose the things they have purchased.  So I tired to sink everything from the ipod that is not diabled to the itunes acct in hopes to be able to put it all back on the disabled iPod once I reset it.  It tells me that I need to authorize my computer. How do I do that?  Thanks

If you're using Mac OS X, choose Store from the very top of the computer's screen and click on Authorize Computer.

  • HT201272 How do I authorize my computer to re-download a song I downloaded on a work computer?

I downloaded a song on a work computer about 2 months ago to try out the "download on different products" feature.  I came home and keep trying to redownload it, but it just says you need to authorize this computer first.  I no longer have access to that old work computer so is there anyway to authorize my home computer form home?  It won't even let me re-purchase the song...
